About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

Thanks for looking at Railroad Creek Lodging's H4 House and The Rusty Hill Place while planning your trip to Glacier. The H4 House is available May through September and the Rusty Hill Place is available October through April.

The H4 House features three bedrooms upstairs. One has a queen bed and a single, while the Master Bedroom has a queen bed. Adjacent to the Master Bedroom is a small bedroom with another queen bed. Our fourth bedroom is downstairs and has a queen bed. All of the bedrooms have great views that provide a peaceful end to your day and brighten the start of the next one. Upstairs you will find a full bath with laundry facilities while the downstairs has a bathroom with shower and sauna.

Sit in the cedar and brick living room with your morning coffee and view Lubeck Ridge, Calf Robe Mountain, Firebrand Pass and the occasional deer, moose, coyotes, elk and bear that make the area their home. Expansive south and west facing windows give incredible views that make our part of the state such a special place. A fully equipped kitchen lets you plan meals at home or dine out at one of the local restaurants. Everything down to the salt and pepper shakers is here for you, but if you have a special request, let us know and we'll work on it.

The deck on the west and north sides of the house offers great views and deck chairs are there for your comfort. A gas barbecue and picnic table are also located on the deck for your cooking and outdoor dining use.

The Rusty Hill Place, about 150 feet east of the H4 House, is upstairs above the garage we recently built. It features two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and its own attached bathroom. The 16’x27’ great room includes the living room, dining room and kitchen. Access is via stairs on the outside east side of the building. Laundry facilities are also available in the Rusty Hill.

Hiking is available as close as the back door, with many other opportunities in the area. Two Medicine Lake area provides numerous hiking trails and a tour boat operates on the lake also. Firebrand Pass is just up the road and is a great hike.

We are located three miles west of East Glacier on Highway 2. Close enough to town, but removed enough to let you see sunsets, stars, northern lights and nature at its best just outside the door. Fluctuating temperatures, windy weather and long daylight hours are part of summer here in East Glacier, so be prepared for whatever Mother Nature has to offer during your stay.

COME AND ENJOY OUR PART OF THE BIG SKY COUNTRY!!!

About Chuck & Vicki Holbrook

Hi, we're Chuck & Vicki Holbrook. We lived in East Glacier for 21 years before moving to Whitefish Montana in 1999. We have both retired from our jobs and moved back to our home in East Glacier. We live in it in the winter and offer it to visitors to Glacier in the summer. We are eager to be part of your plans to visit Glacier Park. We are pleased to offer our guests a quiet well equipped house outside of town to relax in at the end of a day exploring Glacier Country. Let us know if Railroad Creek Lodging fits your plans for your trip to our part of Glacier Country.

Why Chuck & Vicki Holbrook chose East Glacier Park

We like living in the country and being able to enjoy life without the distractions of town. Our house is very close to nature and lets you experience it at whatever level you wish.

What makes this house unique

We designed the house to be energy efficient in both winter and summer and to also have great views out all of our windows. We experience all the many weather types and wildlife that make this such a unique place to live. Our view is essentially unchanged over the last 30 years and we love being out here in such a natural setting.

A Little Slice of Montana Heaven

  • 5 of 5

Just outside of East Glacier, the cabin is spotless, well-equipped, and thoughtfully decorated. Plenty of room for our group of 6. Walk out onto the upstairs deck for gorgeous sunsets over the mountains near Two Medicine. Has its own trail behind the cabin, where you may see the neighborhood grizzly, so do carry the spray provided by Chuck and Vicki, who are great hosts. We plan to go back.

Great location and very clean

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our 5 night stay! Vicky and Chuck were very accommodating and met all of our needs and more, there was even a plate of fresh brownies upon our arrival! The home had everything we needed and more and was very comfortable. The views at the house were amazing and it was only a 5 minute drive over to East Glacier Lodge where we were attending a wedding.

Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this wonderful place for 4 days with another couple. The house was equipped so well - extra spices, cookware, internet, etc. We really enjoyed the views from the house. We've rented several houses over the years to find that the windows were dirty - not the case here - these were very clean. This was important to us because the view was one of the reasons we selected this place.

Chuck and Vicki, the owners, take very good care of the rental and are so nice and accommodating to all our needs. They are proud of this rental and we can understand why. They had a new washer/dryer and a lovely new tiled shower downstairs. The house was clean and cared for. The kitchen is open so it's fun to cook together. There is also a nice table to play games.

We would love to come back someday and we would rent this place again! It was a perfect place to be!

Perfect Glacier base camp - A++!

  • 5 of 5

Chuck and Vicki were exceptional hosts for 5 women celebrating our 50th year on planet Earth :-) The accommodations were clean and comfortable, with finely crafted details throughout the place. The fully stocked kitchen enabled us to easily prepare breakfasts and dinners; beds and furniture were just made for relaxing and sleeping after rigorous hiking, and the location made for easy drives to both sides of Glacier. We walked to the pub just down the road for a terrific dinner and pie - so convenient! This easy to get to, lovingly created dwelling in a beautiful setting was tough to leave. Many fond memories, and Chuck and Vicki attended to all our needs and gave great tips for exploring the park. We would be back in a heartbeat and thoroughly recommend this place!

Fabulous accommodations while visiting Glacier National Park

  • 5 of 5

Railroad Creek Lodging is a wonderful place to stay. The home is spacious, very clean and nicely appointed. The beds and linens are high quality, the kitchen is so well stocked and the outside is perfect; camp chairs, gas grill, picnic table, hammock and swing! Chuck and Vicki are excellent hosts. They are very welcoming, knowledgeable about the area, and are available when you need them without being obtrusive. We have rented many times through VRBO and Railroad Creek Lodging is definitely one of the best.
