Thanks for looking at Railroad Creek Lodging's H4 House and The Rusty Hill Place while planning your trip to Glacier. The H4 House is available May through September and the Rusty Hill Place is available October through April.

The H4 House features three bedrooms upstairs. One has a queen bed and a single, while the Master Bedroom has a queen bed. Adjacent to the Master Bedroom is a small bedroom with another queen bed. Our fourth bedroom is downstairs and has a queen bed. All of the bedrooms have great views that provide a peaceful end to your day and brighten the start of the next one. Upstairs you will find a full bath with laundry facilities while the downstairs has a bathroom with shower and sauna.

Sit in the cedar and brick living room with your morning coffee and view Lubeck Ridge, Calf Robe Mountain, Firebrand Pass and the occasional deer, moose, coyotes, elk and bear that make the area their home. Expansive south and west facing windows give incredible views that make our part of the state such a special place. A fully equipped kitchen lets you plan meals at home or dine out at one of the local restaurants. Everything down to the salt and pepper shakers is here for you, but if you have a special request, let us know and we'll work on it.

The deck on the west and north sides of the house offers great views and deck chairs are there for your comfort. A gas barbecue and picnic table are also located on the deck for your cooking and outdoor dining use.

The Rusty Hill Place, about 150 feet east of the H4 House, is upstairs above the garage we recently built. It features two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and its own attached bathroom. The 16’x27’ great room includes the living room, dining room and kitchen. Access is via stairs on the outside east side of the building. Laundry facilities are also available in the Rusty Hill.

Hiking is available as close as the back door, with many other opportunities in the area. Two Medicine Lake area provides numerous hiking trails and a tour boat operates on the lake also. Firebrand Pass is just up the road and is a great hike.

We are located three miles west of East Glacier on Highway 2. Close enough to town, but removed enough to let you see sunsets, stars, northern lights and nature at its best just outside the door. Fluctuating temperatures, windy weather and long daylight hours are part of summer here in East Glacier, so be prepared for whatever Mother Nature has to offer during your stay.

About Chuck & Vicki Holbrook

Hi, we're Chuck & Vicki Holbrook. We lived in East Glacier for 21 years before moving to Whitefish Montana in 1999. We have both retired from our jobs and moved back to our home in East Glacier. We live in it in the winter and offer it to visitors to Glacier in the summer. We are eager to be part of your plans to visit Glacier Park. We are pleased to offer our guests a quiet well equipped house outside of town to relax in at the end of a day exploring Glacier Country. We like living in the country and being able to enjoy life without the distractions of town. Our house is very close to nature and lets you experience it at whatever level you wish.

What makes this house unique

We designed the house to be energy efficient in both winter and summer and to also have great views out all of our windows. We experience all the many weather types and wildlife that make this such a unique place to live. Our view is essentially unchanged over the last 30 years and we love being out here in such a natural setting.

July 2017 ... Our stay was wonderful

Our trip plans included only two nights at Chuck & Vicki's. Our party included 6 adults and 2 children (10, 14). The home was big enough for everyone and very comfortable with a nice view of GNP through a large picture window. Chuck and Vicki were very accommodating and pleasant to chat with. They also left several amenities that Made our stay welcoming and enjoyable (Yummy brownies, bear spray, items in the fridge, coffee, flash lights (it gets dark very quickly), WIFI and some wonderful stories) We found the location of the home to be very convenient for our traveling plans. If you are planning a stay on the east side of GNP, Chuck and Vicki's is certainly worth consideration. Happy Traveling from Charlies Gang!

A perfect home base for Glacier Park visits

We had an awesome 3-night stay at the house. The only thing that could have improved the stay was to make it longer. Chuck and Vicki provided everything we needed for our stay and took the time to check in with us after we had been in the house a while. They even shared a few stories and made suggestions for park activities when we invited them to share a glass of wine. The house itself is awesome and shows off all Chuck and Vicki's carpentry skills, the setting is stunning, it's convenient to the park, and convenient to the nice little town of East Glacier. Try out Firebrand Food and Ale right up the street. Great bar food and drinks at reasonable prices.

Gorgeous lodge in a beautiful area of Montana!

First off, Chuck and Vicki, were some of the most wonderful people you could ever meet! I recommend staying here even if you have activities planned on the west side of the park. So conveniently located near the park, food, grocery stores, etc. We even had a moose come through one morning.

Best place for larger groups!

My family and I stayed here for our parents 30th wedding anniversary. There were 8 adults total. The place was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. We cooked 90% of our meals here. Chuck and Vicki stopped by our first morning and showed us how to use the bear spray for when we were out on the trails in Glacier National Park. They also had great suggestions for what trails to hike. The house was cozy and the sauna really came in handy for when we were out hiking in 35 degree weather for 4 hours. The house is charming and has a lot of cool informational books and fun artwork/decorative items hanging on the walls- not to mention phenomenal views of the mountains in the bedrooms! There was also a washer and dryer so we didn't have to pack an overwhelming amount of stuff for our week there! I wouldn't reccomend anywhere else if you are visiting this area. Thank you Chuck and Vicki for providing such a warm and comforting place for my family and I to celebrate our parents' anniversary!!!
