Renovated Modernist Refuge, Steps to Best Hampton's Beaches
This beautiful property is secluded, just steps from gorgeous private beaches and Napeague Bay and minutes from Atlantic Ocean beaches. It is also close to all activities and an organic farm, yet far away from any hustle or bustle.
Set among the treetops, this architectural gem was built in 1967 and was exquisitely renovated in 2007. It is of such outstanding quality that it was featured on the cover of Dwell magazine in April 2009. It's a special place and it features superb location, close proximity to swimming, kayaking, cycling and off-road trails plus all mod-cons including streaming services and barrel sauna that fits 4-6. The yard has recently been made into a pollinator garden so birds and butterflies are in abundance.
Perfect for a couple or small family. Not a party house.

Amazing house to relax, read, eat out on deck and walk to beach. The house and garden offers so many places to hang-out that it feels much bigger than the size of the house. Joe was welcoming, generous, and helpful. It was more than a rental for our family. It was a zen experience.

Perfect Hamptons Oasis
From the moment our family entered this peaceful, stylish and welcoming space, we felt immediately at home and realized we'd stumbled on a little piece of paradise. Combining intimacy with space, light and a strong connection to the surrounding natural landscape, the house is extremely comfortable, with great attention to detail. It is also in an unbeatable location -- being walking distance to a beautiful private bay beach, a lovely bike ride to nearby Springs, and a short drive or cycle to Atlantic ocean beach and the charming town of Amagansett. One also couldn't ask for a more friendly and reliable owner - who generously provides additional amenities such as bicycles, kayaks and more. The house is as suitable for small children as it is for older couples seeking a blissful respite. I can attest to this having rented it for several weeks at a time over the past four summers - with our two children between the ages of one and five - and welcoming both grandparents and teenagers as our guests, who loved it as much as we did.

About the host
Hosted by Joe Dolce
Hi. I'm a writer and a communications coach focused on presentation and media training. I use this home as a refuge -- it is a special house, one of the more unique properties I've encountered in the Hamptons and beyond. It is a contained and comforting space all times of the year. In summer, the doors open fully so you can be in and outside; the fireplace keeps the space warm and cozy during the colder weather. The sauna is great all year round
Why they chose this property
Set in the treetops; this dramatic and cozy house is a few hundred feet from the beautiful Napeague Bay and Louse Point, two miles from the Atlantic Ocean beaches, and one mile away from an organic farm. You never see neighbors and it is in a secret part of the Hamptons that visitors rarely see. We call it the "Unhamptons."
What makes this property unique
Peace, beauty, sea, ocean, bay, sports, organic food, great DVD and cookbook libraries, quiet.
