What makes this apartment unique

We are less than 10 minutes from two great places to snorkel & kayak, (Two Steps at Honaunau) right at the entrance to Pu’uHonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. (City of Refugee) and Captain Cook's Monument, home of The spectacular marine sanctuary at Kealakekua Bay. That offers an abundance of colorful tropical fish, a variety of beautiful coral reefs and visibility often to 100 feet. The calm, protected waters and sunny skies of Kealakekua Bay provide superior snorkeling and diving year round, with the water temperature averaging 76 degrees.

The Hideaways have a full kitchen “Paniolo King suite” or efficiency kitchen ”Plumeria Queen suite” for your own meals or we are located near some very nice restaurants.

We have wireless connection for our clients.

We hope that you will book with us and share our beautiful location.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"My first trip to Hawaii could not have been more magical. Staying at Beth and Dave's place was simply great. Every detail was accurately represented in their property description. If anything, it was way BETTER than they had put into their entry. Charming is an understatement. The place is oozing the creative character in gracious style of the hosts. All the amenities were great, including some bells and whistles that one doesn't normally expect - kayaks, bikes, pool, etc. Beth & Dave where helpful, knowledgeable and lovely to be around. The location was wonderful, close to fantastic snorkeling and some of the best sea kayaking of my life. We actually had 2 humpbacks breach 20 ft. off our sea kayak one sunset outing at Pt. of Refuge!!! WOW!!! If you are interesting in experiencing some outrageous nature and staying in a comfortable home-like setting it can't be beat. This is a fantastic accomodation and we will definately be recommending it to friends and family. More importantly, we'll be coming back to paradise to stay here again. We already miss our gecko friends we made there.

Thanks again!

Doubt truth to be a liar...

A Hawaian home right out of our dreams

  • 5 of 5

Beth and Dave have turned their guesthouse into a very special place for those to enjoy and are fortunate enough to stay there for a while. So much care has been taken when decorating the rooms that it will take you more than a day to discover all the details. From appliances to dishes to towels to coffee mugs to lamps to...on and on and on - everything you find spells out A-L-O-H-A for you.

The place is bliss and magic and we finally had the Hawaian feeling we all had hoped for. The next day Dave helped us get the kayaks on the car and showed us where to find dolphins. And there they were - a few dozen of them swimming and jumping around our kayaks. The next day we went snorkeling - yet another #1 experience on our trip through Hawai.

And when you come back home, a pool, a BBQ and the perfect house await you.

We wish we could have stayed longer, but the island is big and it's a bit far to explore the Eastside from here. So take your time and maybe stay a little longer on the Westcoast. In Beth's and Dave's house the extra time will be well spent!

Felt like Costa Rica!

  • 5 of 5

The Captian Cook area is very lush and it felt a lot like Costa Rica. The condo had everything you would need, including beach chairs and towels. If you needed it... it was there! It was very, very clean. The bed was comfortable, as were the sheets. The pool was nice and it close to many snorkeling sites. Even though the units were close to each other, the place felt very private. I would stay there again.

Loved the fun and funky Hawaiians decor in this perfect hideaway studio. Welcoming ambiance and hosts. Homey touches of fresh fruit, coffee and macnut chocolates to greet us. Flexible check in/out times. An amazing array of beach toys. Paradise found!

Beth and Dave could not have been nicer or more thoughtful. They thought of everything one could need from the kitchen to pool and beach equipment. The rooms (I was a repeat customer so I've seen the two main rooms) are decorated with Beth's wonderful eclectic collection of all things Hawaian including the ukeulale. The pool is nice too.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Beth's Hideaway! Dave was great. Just far enough off the beaten path to feel relaxed, yet close enough to everything you need! Great snorkeling is about 5 minutes (even if you get turned around with google maps). Great advice from Dave regarding places to see and places to eat.

I cannot say enough good things regarding our stay at this property. I highly recommend it to anyone considering. The unit was well equipped with anything you may need and more. The decor was awesome with a true Hawaiian country feel. Location is very quiet and peaceful. The owners live on site and are extremely helpful and accommodating. Cannot wait to come back!
