Beautiful, custom-designed home in a quiet neighborhood. Perfect family getaway.

The house has so many custom touches. Builder is the host/owner of this location who obviously takes pride in his work & care of the home. Quiet location near interesting, short hiking excursions. Host communication is excellent. And house is very well stocked, with great attention to detail, clean and provisioned with many amenities.

This location is perfect for those who want a quiet getaway to spend time relaxing in a beautiful home, or for those who are good at planning excursions to link them to minimize time spent driving. Since the home is about 1 hour south of the Kona airport, about 25 minutes south of the nearest full service grocery, and down a very steep hill, we made our grocery run on the way in from the airport, and planned our days' activities to minimize driving. It worked out fine, and we enjoyed the house and location immensely. Thanks to the well-organized and caring hosts!

Beautiful house in a even more beautiful location

Greggs house was nothing less perfect! Beautiful view of the beach (pebble not sand). The house had everything we needed from cookware to spices. Gregg called us the first day we got to the house and gave us a bunch of tips and pointers on things to do around the house and on the island as well as places to eat. Overall, Gregg was very helpful and we loved the house!!

Great house and amenities

Loved the house. Very large especially for 2 people. Extremely well stocked kitchen (appliances, utensils, etc). Walk across the street about 30 yards to beach - NOT sand, but pebbles/rocks (black lava). Very few people on beach. A bit of a drive to town for restaurants, etc. so preferred the grocery store and cooking in the nice kitchen, but did go out a few times. About an hour to Kona airport. Great deck and wood flooring. No Air Conditioning but lots of fans. Great shower that is outside the master bedroom at back but very private. Also another one for rinsing off from beach on the deck. Crazy steep hill (but fun!) to get in/out of development. Would stay again if we go back to Kona, price was fair. For those that want to hang out continuously at Kona it is a bit far away, but one day was enough for us there (not much near airport and rest is pseudo industrial with Wallmart, Lowes, etc)! Liked being further away from it all. A+

Private, comfortable, modern, relaxing, unique!

Gregg's home was an ideal home base for our first time to Hawaii and all our explorations! We were pleased to spend 11 nights in April here and our stay was perfect. Gregg's attention to detail was very evident in the design and function of the home, as well as his hospitality and willingness to accommodate his guests. He communicated with us to make sure we settled in, he gave awesome advice on the local area, but he also respectively gave us plenty of privacy to enjoy our vacation. Some may find it challenging and partially isolated when the nearest grocery store is 30 minutes away but we felt it just adds to the experience and makes you truly appreciate the safe and relaxed "island living" lifestyle.

We loved being out and away from the tourist central areas! With our rental jeep we were able to explore some amazing areas and our suggested highlights included; jumping off the cliffs of the Southernmost point of the USA, snorkelling at 2 step, Ho'okena, the Captain Cook monument, checking off swimming with Manta Rays, dolphins, and turtles, witnessing steam vents, lava tubes, and red hot spurting magma at Volcano National Park before the latest eruption of Kilauea, seeing white, black, salt'n'pepper, and even green sand beaches, driving the Saddle road and witnessing the topography between the stunning Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa Volcanoes, boogie boarding & sun tanning at Hapuna Beach, tasting craft beers at Kona Brewing, and of course all the amazing fresh fish (I think we ate ahi tuna poke every day we were in hawaii)! As amazing as our whole Hawaiian experience was, having this ideal house as our home base was the cherry on the top!

We are so saddened to hear of those who were displaced from their homes from the latest eruption (May 3, 2018) and hope that everyone is safe and sound. Although old eruptions and lava flows are so evident all over the island, it is so hard to fathom how volatile and active some of the volcanoes are today. We hope activity decreases and many others can enjoy the Big Island and we look so forward to returning to this vacation rental in the future. 5 stars no question!

Unbelievably beautiful, and an experience that will not ne Forgotten!

Unbelievably breathtaking views, great fun at the pebble beach. Beautiful home with all of the amenities. We just felt so relaxed out here in Kona Paradise, and it was really something.

It is a bit far from Kailua Kona and the Noth side of the island but decidedly worth it; you will do a lot of driving but return to quiet and the restful sound of the waves and nature. The south side of the island is the most impressive in our opinion, and you are closer to it from here. Definitley get a car with low gear to get up and down the steep is a must, or your car will putz out on the way up.

Keep the screens closed as the mosquitoes and moths/other bugs are fierce..loved the little geckos, and the sound of the birds. We were there in early April and it was such a spiritual experience and breathtakingly beautiful when it rained.... Wow!!!

Words cannot describe the beauty of this island, and this place. Thank you Gregg for your hospitality, and for sharing your relaxing retreat with those who venture there.
