We went to PCB for softball more than for the beach but I was more than nervous about this place based on some reviews. Once we arrived with an early check-in through Best Beach Getaways (They called and left me a VM with a Temp code on my way down!).....my fears about the room vanished. It was fine. The room was clean, It had all of the needed basic amenities. It's right across from the trash chute which is convenient and I liked the location of the 1st floor. We used the stairs in the lobby mostly, without issues. We bought Marcos pizza on several occasions, right across the street and were w/in walking distance of Mc D's, Dusty's Oyster Bar and several other establishments . Granted, nothing is fancy about the place but it was completely adequate for our needs and for the price we paid.
Some things it could stand to have upgraded: more seating in the living, televisions (or remotes that are not mismatched), curtains over the blinds in the bedroom, ceiling fan in living room clicks when it's on, new light bulbs in all of the lighting fixtures. Air conditioning worked great, refrigerator and ice maker worked great. There is very low water pressure, mainly in the evenings. The resort as a whole is probably not my favorite, way too many people. Sticky floors on the balcony walkways. There were lines at check-in, lines for luggage carts, lines and long waits for elevators - this made being on the 1st floor even better. If you go with friends I'd suggest staying on the same floor to bypass the elevator use. And for those that haven't stayed here - there is a Ground Floor, then 1st floor (with a beach view) and the walk across/check-in is on the 2nd floor. The Staff we interacted with were friendly and Waves (inside the resort) was not a bad place to eat either. Hope this helps...
We were thrilled to get into the room before the check-in time. Beautiful, spacious condo there were 6 of us in the room and never felt like we were on top of each other. The kids loved the movie theater at the resort. Huge pools and many fun things to do with the kids. The ocean view is breathtaking...could even look at the sparkling water while enjoying dinner. The room was very clean and looks like a new comforter on the king bed. Never had any issues while staying. Rental company was very easy to work with and even called us after check in to verify everything was great. The sunsets were amazing. I suggest taking your fishing pole and walking right down to the water or go right down the road to the Pier to fish ( don't forget the sunscreen like we accidentally did). The week went by so quick, we had such a blast didn't want to leave. We will be back in the Fall. Thank you for a great family vacation.
First, let me say that I have never taken the time to give a review on anything but I felt I had to in this case to keep anyone else from ruining their hard earned vacation! I had booked this condo for a 4 day trip to bring in the New Year. I am a frequent visitor to FL and have stayed at many condos and I have to say, this is the worst. The layout and the view are great but it is very dated, dirty and just not kept up. Our problems were: BUGS, mildew in the bathrooms, dust on the ceilings from the filthy A/C filters. The sofa was so nasty that I had to put a blanket over it, carpet in the master bedroom was dirty and matted down, NO toilet paper. The view would have been great if we could have sat on the patio, there were only 2 chairs out there and they were so rusty that it would stain your clothes if you sat on them. I think you get the picture and speaking of pics, I have plenty of them to back up my review! As for the so called "management company", I spent hours sitting on hold trying to get to speak with a person and when I did, their answer was to send housekeeping. I told them that it wasn't just a housekeeping problem, asked to speak with a manager, was told that they would call me back and I never heard from them. Oh yea, and don't bother trying to find the management company's location from the address that is listed on-line, GPS sent us to a residence. After 3 days of sneezing/coughing and feeling like I didn't want to touch anything in there, we decided to leave a day early. Bottom line, when you are required to pay up-front and your $$ is non-refundable, they know that you have no recourse. I'll definitely do more homework before booking again, including READING the reviews and I'll never book thru a management company again unless they are on-site.
Condo needs a very good cleaning and 1st floor location is awful. Big water bugs or roaches (not sure which) & small black bugs in both bathrooms but mainly in the small 2nd bathroom. My teenage daughter refused to use it with the bugs present. We used 1 of the 2 bathrooms the entire week. Lots of dust on fixtures. The kitchen was not fully stocked as indicated. Most all cookware was very worn & in need of being replaced. As far as utensils for cooking they were very scarce. There was no dustpan to pick up the sand. The master bedroom is in the front. The light in the outside hallway kept the bedroom very light most all night. There was a blind on the window but it didn't keep the light from coming in. Worst part of all was the location. We thought being on the 1st floor would avoid the elevators. We were very wrong. While loading and unloading w/ the luggage rack we had to use the elevator. Waited more than 20 minutes 2 different times just to go one floor. When the elevator would stop it would be full and we'd have to wait again. Luggage racks are on the 2nd floor so being on the 1st floor was no different than being on the 30th floor. Still had to use the elevator. It was just awful! People were not very friendly and helpful at all. We checked in on Saturday which was really a bad mistake. We had never visited Tidewater so we had no idea what to expect. Everyone else was unloading on Saturday the same time as us (apparently the busiest time of the week) and we had to wait more than 10 minutes just to get a luggage rack. We don't plan to visit Tidewater again but for anyone else I would tell them never to check in on a Saturday. As far as Tidewater as a resort, I was disappointed. It is advertised like there is lots going on and lots to do but those things only go on at certain times of the week and only a few times. They are not all the time. Pools closed at 10:00 pm which I thought was disappointing. We were on vacation and wanted to swim after dark and relax. Security made us leave the area because they were locking the doors. Tiki bar is advertised but it wasn't open so that was another downfall. Each and every day we wanted to go to the beach (which was almost every day), we had to be in line by 7:45 am in order to get a front row beach chair. They go fast. Plenty of room in the other rows but if you want front you must go early or you lose out. It was somewhat of a disappointing week. I would not stay in this condo again.
We just returned from our 8 day vacation at Tidewater. Our room was perfect for our family of 4. You are very close to shopping, eating, and other activities. The only negative things I have to say about this condo is the tv's are really small, and you can't check in before 4. We had a long drive and got there about 2:30 the room was already cleaned but the code on the door will not work before 4 p.m. I tried to call the office several times to see if we could go ahead and check in, but no answer. I would stay here again.
