We really enjoyed our stay! This cabin is super close to Gatlinburg and easy to access (although the drive up to the house is super steep so be prepared for that). The hot tub was great and beds were comfy. Unfortunately we did not see any bears! :) The only con was that we felt some basic supplies were lacking - no cleaning spray or hand soap in the kitchen, no body wash or hair conditioner in the showers (only one very small shampoo provided for a 3-night stay), and the ice maker in the fridge is broken so we had to use trays. We also couldn't figure out how to light the gas fireplace and there were no instructions provided so we missed out on that. Otherwise we had a very nice stay and would visit again.
Really great cabin in great location. Back patio could have been a lot cleaner as it is one of the best places to be in the cabin. Would stay here again for sure. Had a couple bear sightings as well!
The pictures do not do this home justice. We absolutely loved our stay here, and the amenities that we had readily available. The home is a short drive to the main drag with so many options for all ages. We highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Gatlinburg.
The cabin is in an easy to access area for Gatlinburg. It was very clean with a great layout and views. The cabin is excellent for friends, small family or two couples. Definitely enjoyed the visit.
The property was everything that was shown and more . Very nice and relaxing cabin would definitely stay here again . If by chance your ring camera caught the three bears getting into my truck I would love to see it ( nothing was damaged the mom and 2 cubs were just being curious )
Property is close to everything, very clean and had all the necessities we needed on site. Property owners were great to communicate with and quick to respond. Saw plenty of black bears and wildlife daily! Would definitely use again.
Fantastic stay ideal location for the trails of the national park but within a short drives distance of downtown gatlinburg everything we could want at the lodge and food city within 5 mins drive. Cabin was within walking distance of the main town but we did see bears in the road/grass by the cabin so we didnt actual make the walk prefered to drive into town of an evening but that was fine. Cabin was clean and well stocked with essentials on our arrival. Hot tub and pool table where a definate bonus for our stay
We really enjoyed our time at the Hilltop Hideout. It was central to many of the Great Smoky Mountains Park attractions and the cabin itself was perfect for our family. The Gatlinburg Parkway was very close but you would never know it from how quiet the local neighborhood is. We took a walk in the evening and ran into a mother bear and her cubs just a few minutes from the cabin which added some excitement to the night!
We had a great one night visit! There were two couples and it was cheaper for us to split the cabin that it would have been for two hotel rooms. No brainer! The two story cabin was in immaculate condition. Everything as described. Woke up to bears walking through the back yard! Amazing!!!
We will be back when we can stay longer!
The property is beautiful and location is close to pigeon forge and Gatlinburg. The fireplace was not easy to start and keep lit. The hot water lasted for 1 shower. The pull out couch is like sleeping on coils. My son ended up sleeping on the couch itself. The kitchen had most essentials but not all. We were able to make a few meals. We had a great time overall. Just needs a few tweeks. Kitchen was stocked but not with all et.
Our family stayed here for thanksgiving week and we had a great stay! Every morning there was a group of turkeys and we had some bear sightings! Definitely lock your car doors! The house is very cute and has all the necessities to stay for the week. Kitchen has everything you need as far as dishes, utensils. There’s a can opener and wine corkscrew. Owner sent all the info in email and very simple/contactless checkin in! I highly recommend staying here! There are two rooms on the bottom level with king beds and each has their own bathroom. Upstairs is a pull out sofa. It took me a minute to figure out where the extra blankets and sheets for the couch were but there were plenty once I realized where they were. It’s basically in the middle of Gatlinburg but in a quiet neighborhood, so it’s close to restaurants, shops and easy to get to pigeon forge also.
Hilltop Hideaway is a great choice for family or couple’s getaway.
Everything as advertised. Spacious, open floor-plan upstairs area with large kitchen, living room and pool table area. (Note: the pool table is not level and that made play very difficult).
Bedrooms downstairs. 2 bathrooms; 1 connected to the ‘master’ but also open to the hall. The other is in the second bedroom. Bedrooms both open to a lower deck with a 4 person hot tub. Hot tub needed repairs during our stay but they got them done quickly and we were able to enjoy the tub. (Still think the jets need some service work).
Washer and dryer (also on lower level) work great.
Upper level deck has several chairs and a patio table. I think a couple Adirondack chairs might be nice. 😉
If you have a larger group, you may want to bring a couple foldable chairs.
One small thing…owners don’t want you to mess with the thermostat. Temp in the cabin was a bit chilly for us, but I’m sure you could reach out to the owners if to adjust temp if you are really uncomfortable.
Cabin location has nice views from the deck.
We saw a bear making his way across the neighbors backyard on our first morning. The cabin IS located near town. Quick 15 min walk, or 5 minute drive gets you down to Parkway and all of downtown Gatlinburg. (Note: the walk down is easy. There is a bit of an incline coming home that will take some stamina.🙂).
Overall, a wonderful cabin, great location and easy to deal with owners.
Super cabin that was really convenient to the parkway. It is as described and shown in the pictures. The kitchen is awesome if you want to cook instead of eating out for every meal.
We had an awesome time! Will remember for future trips!
Thanks again,
Nathan
Two senior couples had a very enjoyable stay at the cabin. It had a excellent location for us, it was clean, mgr. very responsive, property exactly like advertised and we saw a mama and 4 cubs our last night there.
Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Cabin looks exactly like pictures. Has everything we needed. Very close to town but away from the crowd. Would definite stay again.
My family and I enjoyed staying at this cozy, little cabin. It was clean and had everything we needed including a laundry room and a full-size kitchen. We cooked our own breakfast and even made a frozen pizza in the oven one night saving us some money on dining out. Everything was close by including a Supermarket and the downtown. We also had daily visitors, bears and turkeys, and were able to enjoy their company from a safe distance but still very close.
We really enjoyed staying at this cottage. The location is great. Only few minutes away in a car from the main strip but far enough to be away from the bustle of the strip. The road is narrow and uphill but we actually loved that (it reminds us of southern Poland where we are from). The property is kind of at the edge of the National Park, so wildlife is abundant. We saw wild turkeys and bears (mama bear and 4 cubs) right by the house. The cottage itself was nice and clean. Very tactfully decorated; enough cottage themed decor without being obnoxious. The reason I selected this cottage was for the fact that both bedrooms are on the same level. My kids were just steps away from us and I didn't have to worry about them sleeping in a loft or on a 2nd floor away from us. The variety of board games was nice to see. We didn't have much time to play, but it would be great past time with the family instead of watching TV. My husband did play checkers with my son at the cute little chess table. Now my son is asking for a chess set, lol. The pool table is a nice addition, but according to my husband it wasn't high quality table and not leveled so he didn't play, but my kids enjoyed "playing". The kids enjoyed the hot tub, the water was clean in the hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed. There was some coffee, dish detergent, dishwashing sponge, even sugar, salt, pepper and some spices provided. There's a washer and dryer downstairs and the owner even provided one pack of laundry detergent. We had a great time hiking and visiting some local attractions but we loved it so much I'm already planning another trip, hopefully next year. And when we do come back, this cottage will definitely be one I hope to book again.
If you are looking for a quiet place to get away from the busy downtown area, this is it. Of course, being super quite means being away from town so if you want to be right in the middle of it all then this may not be the place for you. We just got up early and found parking on a side street in town then walked around a lot. It was very nice to go back to the quietness of the cabin when done though!
This cabin is in a great location close to Gatlinburg and easy access to Pigeon Forge. The property is beautiful, well furnished, and comfortable. We would have rated it a 5, but because the heat was not working for 2 nights we have given it a 4. The owner was very easy to communicate with and did get the problem resolved. We would stay here again and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a cabin in Gatlinburg.
