Guestbook comments from the manager

Due to the change in management companies at the start of 2012, all guest comments for 2011 were lost. However all of the comments by guests mentioned the fact the this home was extremely comfortable and quiet. They enjoyed the large deck with hot tub. They enjoyed the wildlife that visited. They enjoyed the fact that the home was nestled in the trees. They mentioned how pleasant the weather was and the fact that no air conditioning was needed. They enjoyed Woodland Park.

Very Relaxing and Welcoming

  • 5 of 5

Recently our family started using VRBO instead of hotels. We are a family of five; so, renting a house gives us the biggest bang for the buck. The purpose of this visit was to spend with our oldest daughter during Parents Weekend for the United States Air Force Academy. To sum it all up, our stay was PERFECT!!!

The pictures of this property do not do it any justice. We were pleasantly surprised at how well maintained the house and property were. My wife and I are clean freaks....this place is spotless!

The owners/management really pay attention to their renters needs, for example, I am a retired Police Sergeant from the NYPD and when we pulled into the driveway, there was a brand new Police Lives Matter Flag mounted on the porch. Thank you very much, our whole family was touched by this little detail.

The first couple of days we had to make a few trips back and forth to the USAFA and were originally concerned it would be too far. In actuality, it wasn't bad at all. On average it took about 45 minutes, which wasn't bad at all, especially considering we live in the NY metropolitan area and most people have a long commute. Besides, we truly enjoyed being a little distance away, not too far, yet not to close.

The house itself was very cozy and we cherished the time we spent there. We were also fortunate enough to have a few visitors, plenty of deer (young and old alike) and a little red fox who visited everyday.

I highly recommend this property to everyone searching on VRBO. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful Home & Wilderness Setting!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for Thanksgiving and it worked out perfectly! One great thing was that noise did not travel too much throughout the house as we were staying with 4 different families/couples. The beds were comfortable and the rooms and closets were spacious. Having a bathroom on each level was awesome! There were lots of toys for the kids to play with and two separate living spaces which was nice to get away if needed. The absolute best part of this home was the location! We were so close to the Pike National Forest and there was a ton of hiking! Since it was a residential area there was not much traffic. It is also close to amenities and anything you'd need, but you still feel like you are out in the woods! There are a few nuances with the house concerning water usage that had us worried about showering etc, but it all worked out fine! It would be helpful to have an actual recycling receptacle in the pantry with the trash can since recycling is required. Anyway, had a wonderful stay! Thank you!

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the cabin. Afternoon rains are fairly common at this time of year which is much needed for the forests, flowers, grass etc... I've put in my order to have it rain at night instead of the afternoon but so far not much luck in that change.
