About the host
Hosted by David McDermott
David McDermott is a local Asheville artist who from 2008 - 2014 had an art studio in the River Arts District in Downtown Asheville. After purchasing Chalet Muse, he decided to move his family into the home where he moved his art studio in the basement as the property gave him so much inspiration to paint. David has recently moved into the house next to Chalet Muse to use the home both as an Art Galery and open the home for visitors to come and also be inspired!
Why they chose this property
This property is loaded with inspiration, from the personal artwork of David McDermott on the walls to the breathtaking mountain views, quiet rural settings, and rugged mountain scenery where wildlife abounds! You are sure to see a spectacular sunrise or sunset, and maybe even see one of the glorious black bears that roam the Blue Ridge mountains! This is truly where nature meets art.
What makes this property unique
The views outside are spectacular, but you don't have to be outside to enjoy them! Almost every room inside the home has a view through one of the many windows! One of the most breathtaking scenes is in the Master Bedroom as you look through two large windows at an onobstructive view of the valley and Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. It is definitely a sight to see! The property is filled with rugged terrain, natural rock walls, massive boulders, a cave to be explored at your own risk, and set on the edge of massive cliffs. Exploring the property, you will find an orchard filled with Peach, Pear and Apple trees and a lovely garden with herbs to use for your cooking.
