About Randy Langenbach

Having lived most of my adult life in the south, it was my goal to find a place to cool off in the summer. I have been coming to Western North Carolina for 20 years and was lucky enough to find this lot and build my dream house. I hope to someday be able to retire here, but until then I am thrilled to share it with anyone that has the same interest in the area as I do. My goal is to make your stay as comfortable and easy as possible. I am very familiar with the area, so if you have any requests please don't hesitate to ask. Feel free to call or email. Thanks for your interest.

Fantastic vacation home...plenty of room, clean and exceptional location for quiet and nature. The house gets so much light and feels inviting and warm. I've stayed a few places on the lake and this is by far the best house i've stayed in yet. Plus the owner is super friendly and helpful and made the whole experience that much better...thanks so much!

A perfect choice for a vacation home

  • 5 of 5

I am spending our last week here at Pine Creek Lodge. This has been the most amazing

month here. I just love this house. The photos do not capture the design, the furnishings, the setting. From the main deck, one can hear the creek. It is so restful.

The house is very clean and filled with light. The windows are expansive- with spectacular views of the trees. The decks overlook Lake Glenville.

The summer temperature here is cool and refreshing because of the elevation. A nice contrast from our Florida home.

Our dog absolutely enjoyed running free around the house, down the hill, into the creek, etc.

The common park area where residents can put in kayaks is the most peaceful spot. It takes 15 minutes to walk there. Great workout. We had the use of two kayaks (and a canoe which we did not use). We rarely saw another resident there in all the time we were here. For the first week our toddler granddaughter came too, and especially liked the park, hunting for rocks, making sand castles. There was a swing set too with rings, which she loved.

Randy, our host, offered us the use of two bird feeders, the source of lots of entertainment. He couldn't have been nicer, always available. The house had everything we needed. We didn't use the incredible game room downstairs, but I could see that this would be a great house for families with teens. We brought 2 baby gates, as there are stairs.

Alone for the last two weeks, we hiked many of the trails in this area, such as: Whiteside Mountain, Ranger Falls at Cliffside Lake, Gorges State Park, Satulah Mountain, Botanical Gardens, the Arboretorium, and all those waterfalls.

Bob and I were very impressed with what the area has to offer. It takes us 18 minutes to drive to Cashiers. There was a concert on the green there every Friday.

The Bascom Art Center in Highlands was first rate.

We rented a pontoon boat twice from Signal Ridge Marina. Breakfast at the Zookeeper Bistro was delicious. The folks at both places were very friendly.

I did a trail ride yesterday at Arrowmont Stables, close by. For two hours I rode through the woods, and up in elevation. The views were spectacular. Jonathan and Chase were great! One can visit their new petting farm, a non profit part of Arrowmont, where there are goats, bunnies, kittens and lambs. They now have piglets! A big hit for little ones.

I would like to book this home again.

We returned a couple of weeks ago from this beautiful area . We loved the home and everything about it . The interior is very beautifully decorated and the views and grounds are just awesome . We boated in the lake ,shopped in Highlands and Cashiers , visited many waterfalls and ate at great restaurants . Randy was extremely cordial and helpful with all our arrangements. We wouldn't hesitate to return again and hope to very soon !!

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

This home is a beautiful spot with all the amenities. Traveling with my husband and 2 teenagers, we had space to spread out AND rooms to hang out together. We spent hours playing pool and ping pong! There are games, dvds, and puzzles available, too. The decks are fabulous. The view is lovely. Not far from several good hiking places and cute towns. Randy was great to work with, and it's a bonus to be able to travel with our dog. Highly recommended!

Beautiful, Peaceful Mountain Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful Mountain home with with plenty to explore in the area. The peace you find here will renew your spirit. The house is well equipped with everything you need to enjoy your vacation. Randy, the owner is very attentive to all your questions and needs. This is the perfect retreat to entertain your family and friends. The community dock area is a great place to walk to. You can grill out here, read a book, watch boaters, build a camp fire. The near by creek that you can hear running from the porch deck is a fun place to walk to and explore. The Humming bird activity on the deck was a delight to watch. I would definitely rent this wonderful home again. We use the VRBO website for all our rentals and this place is definitely one of the best!
