About Jean Anderson
In 1998, your hosts, Jean and Bill Anderson bought 40 acres along Eddy Creek, at the foot of Mount Eddy, with spectacular views of Mount Shasta. After summers in the tipi, they built and lived in the yurt for two years while designing and building a new house above the upper meadow. Jean is a Breema bodyworker and instructor, certified Yoga instructor, artist and has had a healing practice since 1996. 'Something about this land and the yurt supports rest, nurturing, renewal, creativity, adventure ... whatever our guests have come for.'
Jean Anderson purchased this Studio in 2005
What makes this Studio unique
As you contemplate your stay at Eddy Retreat we invite you to take the idea of vacation a little deeper and consider the option of an “intentional vacation” – using the ritual of vacation as an opportunity to create a breakthrough in one’s life, to explore an edge of potential growth, a habitual pattern of behavior or point of view which you would like to shed for a new way of being in the world. Your intention might involve risk, either emotional or physical, taking on a goal that’s been on the back of your mind for some time which fear or habit has kept you from exploring. Your vacation could be an adventure into this territory. An “intentional vacation” is an opportunity to set up your get away so that you come back a new person. If you choose the option of an “intentional vacation” we offer support as facilitators of your adventure in self-discovery and breakthrough. Even before you arrive, Jean offers coaching to support you in creating your intention for your vacation. If your focus is on emotional or physical healing Jean offers her 20 years of experience as a practitioner of self-healing arts. She is a certified Yoga instructor and Breema™ practitioner. If your focus is on outdoor challenge and adventure we can refer you experienced guides to take you safely to your edge and beyond. If an “intentional vacation” interests you, let us know when you call for reservations.

The Creekside Yurt was a perfect vacation for us! The accommodation provided every bit of comfort and security, all the while enjoying the beautiful wilderness Mt Shasta has to offer.
The best HomeAway stay we've had!
Wonderful stay! The entire family LOVED this place. Great walks up the road. Super quiet and peaceful. The kids had a great time throwing rocks in the creek. Our dog loved meeting up with Bear (Jean and Bill's dog). We all really enjoyed being in one room as a family: refreshing!
Our youngest daughter claimed the top bunkbed. Highly recommend!
Thanks Darrin and family. We loved having you here. Please come back any time. Thanks for leaving the yurt sooo clean!
Our visit was too short, but our time at the yurt was relaxing and restorative.
Wonderful get away
The yurt was outfitted to be SO comfortable, and the setting near the creek with the large deck was very peaceful and relaxing. We definitely put this on our list of a destination for when we need some quiet time away from it all. Loved all that the Shasta area had to offer too, great hiking.
So glad you took full advantage of the yurt and surroundings.
We love being part of providing just the experience you had.
Magical yurt and property!
We stayed here for the solar eclipse and could not have been more pleased! Wish we had stayed longer because 2 nights was no where near long enough. Great location and so peaceful, and Jean was so accommodating and patient with us on our late checkout!! Thank you again, Jean. We can't wait to come back and absorb more of the "Mountain".
We absolutely loved our 4 night stat at the Eddy Creek Yurt. The Yurt is very comfortable and the deck is a beautiful place to relax with a delightful view of pines and cedars. The highlight was access to our own private creek. We played in the creek, explored its banks, sat in a chair and read in the middle of the creek, and built cairns. We had planned to do one of the many hikes in the area, but ended up just reading, relaxing, and enjoying the nature right outside the Yurt. We will return!
ice skating, bowling, massage, healing work, yoga
