Escape to Oh Buoy Oh Buoy, our tastefully renovated Chatham cottage just one mile from the soft, white sand and warm waters of Hardings Beach. Nestled on a quiet cul-de-sac, this upscale vintage beach cottage is the perfect retreat for those seeking a refined experience. Light and bright with a coastal flair, the home has been completely remodeled and features fine furniture, new mini split AC units in bedrooms and living room, a private outdoor deck, stunning 3 season porch, living room with queen pull out couch, two king bedrooms with private ensuite baths and a glorious gourmet kitchen with island seating for six.

The home is a side-walked stroll of numerous restaurants and shops, a bustling harbor with watercraft rentals and a buy off the boat seafood shanty. Conveniently located just 2 miles from the Chatham’s bustling downtown, guests can be in the thick of the action in minutes and escape back to the sanctuary of Oh Buoy Oh Buoy just as quickly. When guests don’t want to venture out, there are games and puzzles, high speed wifi, smart TVs in the living room and second bedroom, cozy indoor electric fireplace for heat or ambiance and a propane fire pit on the deck.

Guests will have full use of the entire home. High quality linens and towels included.

Sunroom:

Upon entering the cottage guests will be wowed by this casually elegant, quintessentially Cape Cod sunroom. A vintage tea cart turned bar is the perfect spot to mix a cocktail or mocktail or set down a pot of coffee or tea. Sink into the white linen sofa or generous armchair with a good book or choose an activity from the game closet. Or grab a seat on the chinoiserie bench or director’s chairs and settle in for some fun. Featuring white washed walls and knotty pine ceilings and a wall of sliders with screens and a cooling ceiling fan, this space is made for lounging and entertaining. In the late afternoon you will want to throw open the doors and enjoy the sea breeze!

Living Room:

If you can tear yourself from the sunroom, the living room is a comfortable space for game playing, tv watching or just chilling out. Featuring two very comfortable armchairs which have been known to induce spontaneous napping and a generous queen size pull out sofa, guests can enjoy downtime around the 43 inch smart tv and electric fireplace. The fireplace can be used for warmth on cool shoulder season evenings or without the heat fan for ambiance anytime the mood strikes. This living room also has a wall unit mini split AC unit to cool and dehumidify the space on demand.

King Ensuite 2

Featuring comfortable king beds with ensuite baths and individual mini split AC units, each uniquely decorated bedroom provides a peaceful, relaxing retreat. You can’t miss the coastal cottage vibes when you enter this room. Crisp white walls and linens, curvy cottage furniture, original artwork and whimsical decor provide the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern amenities. A mini split AC unit allows guests to keep their space as cool or warm as they wish without compromising the comfort of others. A generous closet, mirrored dresser and ample under bed space provide a place for everything for perennial overpackers. There is no need for that though as Oh Buoy Oh Buoy has a washer and dryer for guest convenience. The refreshed ensuite bath is decorated in a cheerful combination of blue and yellow. The bathroom consists of a small pedestal sink, toilet and stand up shower with glass enclosure. Oh Buoy Oh Buoy is on a private septic system so we do supply septic safe toilet paper.

The Kitchen

One of the most amazing attributes of Cape Cod living is the availability of farm and boat to table ingredients. The gourmet kitchen was designed with that in mind. Whether guests choose to cook for themselves or hire a local chef, this well appointed space will inspire. The six person island is a perfect spot to dine or sit and watch the action. The island can easily be slid over to provide ample space for prep and seating on both ends. The five burner gas stove and commercial grade exhaust fan are powerful enough for home cooks to produce restaurant quality meals. The ultra quiet Bosch dishwasher makes cleaning up after a breeze. The generous refrigerator/freezer keeps foods fresh and a pantry and lazy susan provide plenty of storage for guest groceries. The built in beverage bar will be the morning hub. A Keurig Duo coffee maker has settings for single cups or full pots. Take the thermal carafe down to the beach and enjoy breakfast by the water! In addition, to the appliances mentioned above there is a wide slot toaster, microwave, crock pot, electric mixer, mandoline, quality knives and sharpener, blender, a large assortment of serving ware, high quality pans and bakeware, cutlery and kitchen gadgets ranging from an oyster shucking knife to a fish scaler. Guests will have everything necessary to prepare and serve their own creations or to fool friends with take out from a local restaurant.

King Ensuite 1

Fresh as a daisy, this room was inspired by the former owner and two other special ladies in our lives. Each spring the Marguerite Daisies herald in summer on Cape Cod. The Montauk Daisies usher it out in the fall. A plush king bed is flanked by two side tables with storage baskets for personal items and pivoting wall sconce lamps for bedtime reading. A mirrored wardrobe provides ample storage space for hanging clothes along with a generous drawer for additional items. A wing chair perched under a bright floral painting is a serene spot to sit and unwind. A wall mounted smart tv is visible from the bed, allowing guests a place for leisurely lounging. The mini split AC unit cools the space to the occupants optimal sleeping temperature. The refreshed, vintage ensuite bath has a glass door, walk in shower with a sitting ledge, pedestal sink and comfort height toilet.

Outdoor Space

It’s just not a Cape Cod vacation without outdoor living. The sun room definitely brings the outside in but when you really want to be one with nature, the private, expansive deck and oversized outdoor shower are next level. If you have not experienced showering in the elements, you are in for a treat. Linger longer as you rinse off the salt and sand while humming birds, butterflies and hawks fly overhead. No need to worry about an empty hot water tank. The newly installed Rinnai on demand hot water heater has got you covered. The private nautical inspired deck is designed for outdoor entertaining. A six person dining table with umbrella and gas grill make this a perfect spot for alfresco cooking and dining. After dinner, sit back in an Adirondack chair or pull up one from the dining table, light the propane fire pit and unwind. Overhead string lights cast a soft glow so the deck can be enjoyed well into the evening.
