We purchased our home in 2009. We have been coming to the West Shore of Lake Tahoe for 40 years. We love to sit by the beach, hike, ski, and dig the snow off the bear box. Puzzles are an important part of every visit.
The Owner purchased this house in 2009
This side of the lake is peaceful, quaint with that old Tahoe feel. The location is close to all activities yet you feel away.
We love to make ice cream in the summer, watch the fireworks from our deck, get Tahoma Market sandwiches, and watch the stars from the deck.
We hope you have a great stay.

This is the best we have rented in over 35 Summers at Meeks Bay, the best place at Tahoe, which is the best place on the planet. Upscale everything, open concept, roomy, and your own blue jay and squirrels to eat breakfast with, watching the sun rise over the Lake, and the sunset from the big back deck. Its minutes to the beach, great hiking at the end of the street. We even had a visit from G-Ma with her walker (through the 2 car garage), up two steps to main floor kitchen/family room, deck, 2 bedrooms and full bath. The pictures don't do it justice, and we highly recommend Sweetwater (unless you want MY weeks). Dana and Dave were pleasant and responsive deservedly proud owners.

I stayed at the Sweetwater Cabin over 4th of July Weekend with my family and it was perfect. The Cabin was beautiful, well maintained, clean, modern, and comfortable. We were able to walk to Meeks bay easily, and the drive to Emerald Bay and hiking trails was close. The views from the deck of the cabin can't be beat. The hosts are super accommodating too and we can't wait to come back!
My wife and I stayed a total of 19 glorious days at this lovely home, and it was our second year of doing so. After five years of renting homes in the Tahoma-Meeks Bay area, we could not find a better location for our summer getaway! We utilized the two decks for gazing out at the lake at various times during the day and just could not get enough! The kitchen is wonderful, and everything a person wants in the way of creating a perfect meal is there for the chef! Every corner of the home is beautifully appointed and the beds are gloriously comfortable as well. If you are looking for the ultimate sense of peace and tranquility, then look no further than this home! Simply stated, we cannot wait to return and really, I wish we were still there! Thank you David and Dana for sharing your home!
We were so pleased with everything this home had go offer. It was comfortable and well equipped that we made all of our meals there. The hiking and water recreation were so close we were able to load the car and be there quickly. We didn' t want to leave. Next time we' ll stay longer.
We loved every aspect of this place and are looking forward to coming back.
It is a beautiful home, very clean, well-organized, updated everything, and well-stocked (great movie collection). It also stayed plenty warm, which was important to me. The views were even better than I expected. The area is very quiet and peaceful. We loved sledding down the hill on the property with our young daughter and snow-shoeing through the beautiful forest area adjacent to the house.
Dana could not have been more friendly and helpful. She is extremely responsive and kind.
One note: We came in a Prius with cables on the tires. We almost couldn't make it up the hill to the house on one occasion due to snow and ice. I would recommend coming with a 4-wheel drive vehicle in the winter (Also, use her directions to the house, not Google maps. When we used the Google directions to her address we were unable to make it in our Prius, even with cables.)
Everything went of smoothly when working with Dana. She was responsive, friendly, and welcoming. The directions for check in and check out were clear. We loved the fact that she had such great views from the cabin, it was very clean and organized and the kitchen was well stocked with cutlery. The heating was great. The apartment is stocked with movies and a large TV for cold evenings. The location is 5 miles from Homewood, so its great for skiing/snowboarding and South Lake Tahoe is not too far away either.
All in all, I'd definitely stay at the cabin the next time I'm in Tahoe!
We stayed at Sweetwater Cabin over Thanksgiving with my parents and kids and it was a magical experience. The views are gorgeous and the cabin is in a quiet and peaceful location. The cabin itself was cozy and very comfortable, easily accommodating the 6 of us. And the kitchen is attractive and well-stocked. The upstairs master bedroom is spectacular - large and with a stunning view of Lake Tahoe We enjoyed the amazing array of board games and dvds - a perfect combo for a snowy Thanksgiving. Thank you so much for a lovely stay at Tahoe!
