Ronald & Janie Dyer purchased this cabin in 2005
It's quiet, peaceful, secluded in the 25 acres of woods that surround the cabins. Deer roam in the field near the horses and cattle on this working farm. It is located 10 minutes from Blairsville and 5 minutes from Wal Mart. .Sitting in rocking chairs on the deck you can drink your morning coffee and listen to the sounds of birds, squirrls and the serenity of the forrest.
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL...If you are trying to escape the fast paced world...this is the best place to "hide"! Thank you so much for the southern hospitality you gave us...WE WILL BE BACK TO DEERFIELD CABINS!!!!
Pleasant mountain cabin. Has what you need and is close to what you don't. Can easily get to stores for life's essentials but are away from it all once you get back to the cabin. Would definitely stay again.
This Cabin was very private and Relaxing. The trip consisted of my mother and two small children. We enjoyed the farm life (animals), the mountain feel, and serenity. The owners were very kind and helpful. Great cabin and value!
We enjoyed out stay at the Deer Field Cabin. Extremely quiet and far enough away to never be disturbed by traffic noises. Located about ten minutes away from downtown Blairsville and fifteen from Blue Ridge, it is a great in between. The highlights of our trip were visiting the mercer orchards and of course buying a plenty of apples and horseback riding at Tablerock Stables. We appreciated being able to rent from hardworking farm folks and not giving out cash to some business conglomerate.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the cabin on the Dyer's property. It was relaxing. to watch the farm animals in the field behind the cabin, walk on the property, and just enjoy the mountain air. It is in an excellent location for going to Blue Ridge, Blairsville and Helen, as well as Vogel and Unicoi State Parks. We also enjoyed the Farmers' Market in Blairsville and took some wonderful fresh eggs and milk home with us. We would definitely stay there again.
Janie was a wonderful hostess. Our girls enjoyed seeing all the animals on their property and even named all the rabbits. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this little cabin, with the little pond out back, the playground right outside and the fire pit for roasting hotdogs and marshmallows. Janie was very helpful and available before, during and even after our trip. My daughter forgot her pillow that had been stuffed with prized toys and books, and Janie went out of her way to let us know and ship it back to us.
The cabin is delightful and tucked away down a gravel road near the owners' working dairy farm. Staying here was comfortable and fun. The cabin was spacious and met all our needs and our young daughters loved bathing in the jacuzzi garden tub and playing on the playground. The Dyers graciously let us visit their dairy and watch the cows being milked, then let our girls feed the calves. We also got to gather eggs, visit the pigs, and really experience the farm. What a treat! We were close to fishing and boating at Lake Nottely and swimming, fishing, and hiking at Vogel State Park and enjoyed the Blairsville restaurants, including a great Cuban place oddly named "Dan's Grill." The community is warm and welcoming and this is a great place for a family vacation. We would definitely return and stay at Moose Lodge again.
