Our condo on the Big Island of Hawaii is located 5 miles south of the Kailua-Kona village, in a resort community called Keauhou. The complex is the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club. Our condo is on the top floor (3rd) and is a corner unit with wraparound window walls to the west and north. From inside or from the tiled lanai, there is a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and the coast, along with spectacular sunsets. This condo is oceanfront with the shoreline a mere 30 feet way. Viewing humpback whales from the lanai is a frequent occurrence during the whale migration season. Throughout the year, you can always catch a view of dolphins playing just off the shoreline.
The condo is a comfortable 1200 sq. ft. with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The entire condo was remodeled in 2015. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and the 2nd bedroom has twin beds that can be pushed together to make one large bed. The living room boasts a large comfortable couch that allows for views to the ocean and/or the television. The entertainment center consists of a cable-connected 40 inch flat panel television and DVD. Free broadband Internet access is available in either wireless or direct connect cabling mode.

About Tom McCall
We are Colorado natives, retired, and our home is in Fort Collins, CO. We love to ski and travel the world.
Tom McCall purchased this Condo in 1998
Why Tom McCall chose Kahaluu-Keauhou
We considered many tropical locations before deciding on the Big Island. With the large mountains, Volcano National Park, great scuba diving and snoreling, hiking, and other water sports, you can never be bored. The local people are friendly, the local music is addictive, the local food is excellent. There are many active farmer's markets and local artists. But the Big Island retains the flavor of old Hawaii, especially away from the coast.
What makes this Condo unique
Watching for whales and dolphins while on the lanai. Listening to the waves crash against the lava rock. Beautiful sunsets. Perfect weather...no need for A/C because of the constant ocean breezes. Wrapround, floor to ceiling windows allow for views even while inside the condo. Early morning walks. Fresh fish at our favorite restaurants where they know us. Shopping nearby. Great pool and tennis courts.

Being so close to the beautiful Pacific is a treat for a normally land-locked person. The wraparound views are always changing from calm turquoise waters to crashing surf, capped by awesome sunsets. The residence is pristine, comfortable, and well-equipped.
Beautiful condo with an awesome view and location
Spectacular ocean view with plenty of privacy. The unit was quite well appointed clean and comfortable.
Wonderful Property, Wonderful Stay
This condo has the nicest feel. It was one of the cleanest at which we have stayed. It was nicely furnished/decorated ("Hawaii- like," but not over the top) and well equipped. The layout is great with the two bathrooms separating the bedrooms, and the master bedroom and two walls of the living area fronting the lanai. The vaulted ceiling made it seem extra spacious. And the lanai - did I mention the lanai - it's the icing on the cake! Very spacious, nice furniture and the view absolutely can not be beat.
The pool on the property was quite nice; and the property grounds were exceptionally well kept. The owner was very responsive to my inquiries.
The location was a 10-15 minute drive from town. A supermarket was within 5 minutes. Parking at the complex was plentiful. It was a great location for getting into town with the action, and then returning to a peaceful place with a spectacular view.
A little piece of paradise
We spent the last 3 weeks during the ironman championship in Kona and had the privilege to call the beautiful condo of Tom our home. The place is very well kept, in excellent conditions and equiped with everything you need to feel at home. When you sit on the balcony you can sit back, enjoy the spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, watch the dolphins play or follow the sunset in the most spectacular colors.
We can only say the very best about this condo and recommend it to anyone who wants to spent relaxed days on the big island. The location is perfect since all necessary shopping needs are in walking distance. It is close to the action in Kona but also remote enough to escape the traffic and noise when you want to.
We definitely looking forward to come back if we decide to again take the hassle to travel to the opposite side of the globe.
Just finished another 3 week stay
My previously submitted review from last year still stands strongly for this year. I had another excellent experience. Highly recommended. Thanks, Tom and Glenda.
Just finished a 3 week stay
To me, it's a no-brainer. The condo is only 30 feet from the ocean and faces the glorious Kona sunsets. It has a wrap-around lanai, an all-wood cathedral ceiling, huge glass walls facing the ocean, a recently renovated kitchen, 2 attractive Hawaiian-themed bedrooms, and many thoughtful and beautiful touches throughout. Add to that the immaculately kept KKSRC grounds and easy access to the Keauhou Shopping Center -- what's not to like? I'll be back. Mahalo to owners Tom and Glenda!
