About Randy Hull
We both work in some aspect of the television industry. Randy is a director of photography/camera operator and Susan is a producer for a HGTV television show. We lived on Maui for 11 years, but moved to the mainland for work and to be closer to family. We have traveled the world extensively, but always cherish our days on Maui! We love to play golf and tennis and when we are on Maui, we snorkel, kayak, surf, hike and enjoy our friends. We have one daughter and one granddaughter. (Who are already fighting over the condo, when we die!) We have been so blessed throughout the years, so we would like to open our home to others, so they may enjoy Maui, as much as we do!
Why Randy Hull chose Honokowai
We came to Maui in 1999 to look for an investment property. We weren't that serious about buying, but it was a good excuse to go to Maui. After several days of looking at condo's, we decided to check out golf course properties. We met a realtor, who was showing an open house and told her what we did and what we were looking for. She agreed with us, that a house on a golf course wouldn't work for us. She, however, told us about a condo, that may be coming on the market. It all depended on the current owners search for a larger house. Not five minutes after saying this, the owners of the condo walked in the open house and told the realtor they found a house and wanted to put their condo on the market. Since we were still there, the owners invited us over to their condo. The moment, we walked into the condo, I knew I was in trouble. It was an amazing condo,with amazing views. We toured the house and I could see in Susan's eyes she wanted it. We went on the lanai to discuss the condo. First of all, it was bigger than we wanted and a lot more money than we could afford for a second home. Susan didn't care, so I told her, if we see a whale breach completely out of the ocean, (as we had a drink on the lanai) we would put an offer in. Well, long story short, a whale breached. My next back up plan was to make an offer so low, that the owners would turn us down. We left the condo, Susan was thrilled we put an offer in. I was thrilled, knowing they would counter and WE could get out of it. NOPE!! That didn't happen, they accepted and now we were going to be Maui Condo Owners. That night, we were down at our hotels beach, discussing what we had done. At some point during our discussion, we noticed a rainbow starting/ending at Hale Mahina. With so many signs, we decided to uproot from the mainland and move to Hawaii. ONE OFTHE BEST DECISIONS, WE HAVE MADE IN OUR LIVES, SECOND TO US GETTING MARRIED!
