Fabulous Views, Sleeps 8, 3 Full Baths, Family-Friendly #2025-010
Located high above Twin Lakes, our river rock and log-style Mountain House overlooks several of Colorado's 14'ers, including Mt. Elbert (the highest peak), Parry Peak and Mount Hope. A short walk up the hill behind us reveals Mount Massive. Our property is adjacent to two empty lots including national forest service land, giving the illusion of being the only house on the mountain. The house sleeps 8 in easy comfort. The upper floor offers a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and walk-in closet, a bedroom with bunk beds, a full bath, laundry room and loft area overlooking the lake/mountain view. The main floor includes two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and one with a trundle, a full bath, kitchen and living room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a wood-burning fireplace. While we’ve elected to forego the cable, we do offer WI-FI and there is an entertainment center which includes a Smart TV to stream your favorite movies, DVD, VCR, CD player. The walk-out basement boasts a finished game room with foosball, ping pong, shuffleboard, and pop-a-shot basketball. The bedroom on this floor contains two queen-sized beds and a carpeted floor and the best view! Full bath included as well as a utility room with a full-sized refrigerator/freezer. You’ll want 4WD or AWD most months to handle the hills, dirt roads and occasional slippery weather.

WOW! What an amazing experience! Been in Denver for 30 years and never heard of Twin Lakes. What a hidden gem. This home was a dream as well. Amazing breath taking views and fantastic home with all the bells and whistles. Had such a great time celebrating my birthday with my family. Will definately go back.
We loved every minute of our stay! The views from the deck were amazing, I think we sat out every evening and enjoyed the view, the peace and quiet, and the mountain air. The home was fantastic, everything we could have needed. Clean, comfortable and in a beautiful setting! Great location for the more active parts of our vacation as well, within 15 minutes of trailheads for multiple 14ers.
Beautiful cabin with breathtaking scenery. Had a wonderful time with family enjoying the coziness and spacious family room. Plenty of wildlife to see. Very quiet. Lots of sunshine in the big windows. The only draw back was not much light at the dining table during night trying to play games at the table.
We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home with breathtaking views! The house is super comfortable and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. The host was extremely helpful and accommodating, responding very quickly to any questions we had. We would definitely go back again. This property is a must-stay!
It was spotless, well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Beds were extremely comfortable. Excellent communication from the host - very clear and easy check in and check out information. We hope to stay again!
The property was everything we hoped it would be and close to many outdoor adventuring opportunities. The kitchen was spacious and we had no problem preparing dinners for 7 adults. The view of the lakes and the mountains was so amazing it didn't seem realistic. Lots of places to hike, fish and bike less than 30 minutes away and a third of the time is getting down from the house. The roads are narrow and steep so a higher clearance vehicle is good and 4wd is better but we saw cars making their way so not impossible. The hosts were fantastic to work with. Will definitely try to stay there again.
It was time for our sister get together and this property checked off all our boxes. The property is beautiful and very well equipped.
The host, Carrie, was super responsive regarding simple questions about amenities as well as providing us an alternate route to the property when an unexpected road closure popped up.
The views of Twin Lakes is incredible from the expansive deck as well as through the huge wall of windows. We took countless photographs of the snow capped mountains. It was hard to leave.
The home was everything and more. Breath taking views, warm and cozy, plenty of room inside, and then some! So pleased with our stay and would love to come back.
Only complaint is getting to the property. A bit hard to locate via maps and roads are not for the faint of heart. When owner indicates 4 wheel drive highly recommend....they mean this! Narrow roads that are not publicly maintained: subject to snow, mud, ice. Parking is also limited to 4 tight spots....but fits 3 cars comfortably. In conclusion though, once you get there its totally worth it.
Amazing mountain house with all the amenities of home. The owner was very helpful answering all of our questions. We visited during a winter storm that had close to 2 feet of snowfall which was a bit wild but thankfully the neighborhood is plowed and with a four wheel drive we where able to navigate. The home has all kitchen accessories and daily necessities to avoid a major shopping trip to Safeway. Skiing and local attractions are not to far away. Our only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer. If we ever make our way back to Twin Lakes we hope to stay again!
This property is fantastic. The pictures don’t do it justice at all. It has a wonderful view of Twin Lakes and the surrounding mountains. Every morning we were there, several deer were walking past the balcony. The house is fully stocked from the kitchen, restrooms, bed rooms, game room, and different outdoor accessories in the garage. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
The home had an amazing view, beautiful! The roads getting there are a little hard to navigate. The home accommodated our whole family for Christmas. We all had a great time.
Upon entering the cabin, the view blows you away!!! You can just gaze out across the balcony onto the beautiful lake and mountains all day long. The house was well stocked with all essential items. Carrie answers the phone promptly if any issue arise. Our issue was more user error than anything (we didn’t realize we had to turn the lock after entering the code, ha!). The game room is so much fun! This house works great for 8-12 people. Our Thanksgiving was definitely one to remember. Last but not least, although it was pretty chilly during our stay and we got snow, we still managed to get some fishing in and caught the most delicious trout we have ever had from a lake. I’d love to visit this cabin again during the summer months. Thanks for a great experience.
This property is as advertised - views are absolutely stunning! Plenty of space, kitchen very well stocked, great for groups. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
Family gathering had a wonderful time enjoying all that Twin Lakes, Leadville and Buena Vista had to offer - majestic Mountain View’s - fishing - hiking - white water rafting - rock climbing - family game time - and lots of down time. Owners were responsive to our needs and provided a listening ear as nearby construction interrupted water service during lit stay. Our family - six adults and three children - had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a VRBO house in Twin Lakes, CO, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The house was impeccably clean and well maintained, making us feel comfortable and right at home from the moment we stepped inside.
One of the standout features of this property was the spacious living area and deck. It provided ample space for our group of seven male friends to relax, unwind, and enjoy each other’s company. The deck offered breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery, making it the perfect spot to start our mornings with a cup of coffee or end the day with a barbecue.
The location of the house was ideal for our group, as we were eager to explore the outdoor activities Twin Lakes had to offer. The proximity to hiking trails allowed us to immerse ourselves in the stunning natural beauty of the area. We spent our days on the water, fishing and engaging in water sports, thanks to the convenient access to the nearby lake.
Throughout our stay, the owners demonstrated excellent communication and attentiveness. They were responsive to our inquiries and provided us with helpful information about the local attractions and dining options. Their hospitality made a difference and added to the overall positive experience.
In summary, I highly recommend this VRBO house in Twin Lakes, CO, for anyone seeking a memorable getaway.
A beautiful view of the Twin Lakes, Mt Elbert and the mountains of the Independence Pass. The Skluzak Mountain Home was more than advertised. It is spacious, clean and well stocked with all the needed items, utensils, towels, dishes, games, and essentially anything that you would need to enjoy your time in the Rockies. Carrie made the process easy and provided answers to all questions asked. I really have no complaints - however, I would have any prospective resident to consider the fact that the house is located at over 9700 feet msl; so if anyone in your party is prone to altitude sickness, be prepared for some adjustment to the thin air - otherwise just enjoy the view.
The location is superb! There are close-by stunning hiking trails. The house is large and suitable for large groups.

Dell's Father dreamed of having a vacation home where the whole family could gather. He didn't get to realize that dream so Dell did it for him. This home has been a great gathering place for family holidays and friendship getaways. We hope you enjoy it too!
Why they chose this property
We wanted to be in the mountains but so much mountain property just looks at trees. When we found this lot, with THIS VIEW, we knew we could look at it forever.
