About the property

Nestled alongside the Gulf of Mexico, located in the SummerCamp Beach

Nestled alongside the Gulf of Mexico, this home called 'Sea La Vie', located in the Summer Camp Beach resort property, beckons you with soft white sand, nature trails and privacy not often found in today's busy world. With nearly four miles of Gulf beach shoreline surrounded by 762 acres of woods with towering pines, twisting oaks and fan-like palmettos, this community is a celebration of nature, offering an inspirational refuge to enjoy the great outdoors. The area boasts some of the best fishing in Florida. From flats, bay, surf, or offshore fishing, we've got the angler in your family covered.

Your personal 3 bedroom, 2 bath beachside home will have you relaxing by sunset. This home features a King Bed in the master suite, a queen in the second bedroom, and a bunk bed with a trundle to provide comfortable sleeping for 7. Your private ocean view home provides all the amenities of what you expect in a coastal escape. Granite countertops, hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances and wood covered walls will make you feel right at home. Screen porch in the back lets you take advantage of the peek-a-boo gulf view.

Summer Camp Beach resort provides opportunities to fish, boat, kayak, hike, all while being nestled amongst the tall pines in an area of Florida that is still completely unspoiled. Vacationing at Sumer Camp Beach allows you ample time to create wonderful family memories without sacrificing comfort. The resort property has a beautiful swimming pool for you to enjoy at your leisure, complete with locker facilities and a changing room.

Our beaches here are rustic and natural. At certain times during the year there may be seaweed that washes ashore and may decrease the amount of beach that is exposed.

Walk down to the Kayak Shack where kayaks and canoes await free of charge for residents and guests. Climb aboard your kayak and paddle your way closer to nature than you ever thought possible. Smell the salt in the air, feel the warm water on your skin as you glide through the clear, shallow protected waters of the gulf, viewing sea life hands on!

At the end of the day, you may feel inclined to walk along the boardwalk in a coastal preserve to witness amazing sunsets.

The St. James Bay golf course is a short 10 minute drive, where you can enjoy championship conditions. Apalachicola is only 45 minutes away, and is famous for some of the best oysters in the country, and provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy old Florida.

If you are tired of crowds and want a more relaxing, peaceful vacation, you will absolutely love 'Sea La Vie' here at Summer Camp Beach. The Forgotten Coast awaits you!

Nice, clean & relaxing!!!

  • 4 of 5

This was a great find on VRBO. We combined our family vacation with moving my son back to FSU for his sophomore year of college. The house was very well decorated, well stocked and maintained. Short few minute walk to the bay for fishing, kayaking, or canoeing or simply just relaxing by the water. There was lots of seaweed on the beach at our visit, but was told there was a tropical storm a week prior to our stay. At low tide, it was great to walk out into the water to fish or look for wildlife.

The family spent time at the pool everyday and most days we were there by ourselves. It was nice! We spent three days at St. George Island Beach and at St. George State Park. I highly recommend visiting there! We all loved it and found lots of shells at the state park beach and saw crabs, fish, and stingrays there. It's about a 30 minute drive and well worth it! We also went to Apalachicola a couple of times for shopping and eating. This drive was about 40 minutes away. Nice scenic drive there. We also visited Wakulla Springs one day and took the boat tour and the kids swam afterwards. The tour was very nice and took a little over an hour. We saw alligators, lots of bird species, and manatee.

My boys went out on a charter fishing trip with a gentleman named Tanner who was recommended by a place we stopped at called Crum's Mini Mall in Panacea. They caught sharks and various types of fish. They went out to the Gulf for a few hours and then into the Bay for an additional few hours. Memories were definitely made!

There is a Walmart, Winn Dixie, and several other stores and such in Crawfordville which was only about 30 minutes away if you forgot to bring something or need to stock up on supplies. There is also an IGA in Carrabelle which is 10 minutes away if you only need a few things.

We ate out at a few places during our visit (can't remember the names), but one was along the bay in East Point which was very good. Indoor and outdoor seating. Big Daddy's Pizza was also good. The guys had oysters in Apalachicola at a new place right across from the hotel. It was once an old gas station. It was very clean and decorated nicely. We did eat several meals at the house too. The outdoor grill didn't seem to work right, so hopefully that gets replaced soon.

All in all if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and are looking for a relaxing vacation, this is definitely the place! If you need a bigger house, there are plenty there as well.

Owner's Response: Thanks for visiting Sea La Vie. So glad you found most everything to your satisfaction and had a good time. Sorry for the grill not being up to snuff. It is getting replaced this week. Hope you decide to visit us again! Sincerely, Tod and Cathy.

Beautiful house!

  • 5 of 5

The home is amazing and very clean. Very comfortable beds. The beach was typical for a bay, few waves and some nice wildlife. The kayaks were great! The drive to Alligator Point is not bad and the beach and waves there are nice! Turkey Point is gorgeous!

4th Carrabelle area rental in 3 years, and the only one rented twice

  • 5 of 5

My family has taken a summer vacation in Carrabelle for the last three consecutive years. One year we even went two times. This is the only house we have returned to for a second rental. I have already reserved the home for 2018.

The house has a great cook range with convection oven and a virtually silent dishwasher. We enjoy cooking and cook most days, even on vacation. The quality appliances were a notch above other rentals we have vacationed in it made a difference.

The washer and dryer are inside the home and quiet. Some of our previous rentals had the washing machine outside - and that was a hassle.

The beds are comfortable, high quality and well kept as was everything else in the house.

We used the community pool, canoe and kayaks a few times. We floated around the area on a few mornings and easily caught sea trout for dinner just off the beach. The fishing was great. The pool provided a nice break from the boating and offshore fishing we really go to Carrabelle for.

The property management team is very responsive to questions and concerns. Since I had a 22 foot boat with me I had parking questions and the team responded with on site assistance in about 10 minutes.

There is beach a short walk from the house - but there is a much nicer beach on the property if you take a short drive. We made the drive and there was not a single person on the beach.

I was told the owner would be replacing the BBQ grill and a new community fish cleaning station was in the works. These will be welcome additions for our 2018 stay.

I guess the fact that we reserved the house a second time kind of says it all.

Great stay!

This was our second time staying at Summer Camp Beach. Very relaxing and accomadating. It's not a bad rate, but the amount of cleaning you have to do upon exiting makes the 100$ cleaning fee upsurd

Relaxing and quiet getaway, great for families.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at Sea La Vie and would love to go back. The house is perfect - comfortable, relaxing and stocked well. The beach and pool were a short walk or bike ride away. The screened porch was a perfect place to read when it rained. We stayed in about half of our nights, and drove to nearby Apalachicola to eat some nights. We spent a fun day on the beach at St. George Island, too. Would love to go back!
