Overview

About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom (Sleeps 4-6) With Mountain Views/WiFi

The simple pleasures in life often relate to nature. Imagine a clear, starry night in the hot tub or the sound of rain on the metal roof while snuggled on the couch in front of the fire. Birds chirping in the morning, wild turkeys crossing the property and an owl hooting as the sun sets over the ridge. Our 5 acres of land provide the perfect peaceful retreat in the mountains. Whether you're looking for a quiet romantic weekend for two or a fun-filled vacation for the family, our recently built cabin will not let you down.

Long distance views from both the main deck and private hot tub deck will ensure a relaxing, back-to-nature stay. You can forget the cell phones and computers for a true break from the real world if desired...but full cell signal with all known carriers and WiFi allow for reality checks as needed.

With all modern amenities, one won't need to leave the cabin, but the surrounding area has so much to offer to the adventurous at heart. Conveniently located less than 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, 12 mintues from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 20 minutes from the Biltmore Estate and Black Mountain, 30 minutes from Chimney Rock/Lake Lure and Hendersonville, this quiet getaway is still close to all the attractions and activities.

Why Lisa chose Fairview

We absolutely love the Asheville area - the mountains, endless outdoor activities and 4 distinct seasons allow us to appreciate and fully enjoy nature year-round. When we met as teenagers, we dreamed of one day building our own mountain escape (with a fabulous view, of course).

We were involved with every aspect of the building process; from the beginning stages of staking out the property lines and house site in the snow to personally delivering almost every nail, bolt and load of lumber. Our hearts and souls were poured into this cabin while attempting to balance our full-time jobs, lives and every detail of the project...but every minute was worth it, without a doubt.

What makes this cabin unique

With the cabin facing South, year-round natural light invites guests to gather in the living area and relax on the decks.

As is the case in much of Asheville, the roads around our cabin tend to be steeper than what many people are used to. Our driveway is steep and narrow in sections (about 300 yards from the bottom to top). Access is not a problem, however, and we both own small 2wd vehicles that do just fine around Asheville and our cabin. We also have stairs leading from the driveway to the cabin door, which, for those with mobility issues, may pose a problem.

The cabin is located within a private community, in which Rules and Regulations apply to residents and visitors. This makes for a truly quiet and relaxing stay in the mountains. Please note that noise, privacy, parking and other rules must be respected throughout the private community.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

Four adults and two babies under 6 months stayed for a wonderful long weekend. The views are outstanding and and the cabin is perfect for two families with young children. The kitchen/living/dining open concept was great for enjoying the views and spending time together. While the second floor bedroom is a loft, meaning no door, we had no issues with noise between the bedrooms as the downstairs bedroom seems to seal in/out even the sounds of a crying infant. The kitchen was very well appointed with everything you could possibly need to cook/clean. And the hot tub was private and WONDERFUL for new parents needing a few moments away to unwind. The only noteworthy item is the steepness of the driveway and stairs to enter the house. We had no issues whatsoever, but an elderly person or someone who struggles to use stairs may have difficulty with the steps entering the cabin. We thought it was perfect - and we will be back!

Stop looking!! Perfect place!!

  • 5 of 5

Don't look any further!! Perfect place to relax. Very clean and had everything you need. Weber grill big hit with husband. Great location. Looking for a house on the side of a mountain this house is your place. Fix big breakfast while watching the fog lift over the Blue Ridge Mountains. Each day the scenery changed. Never disappointed. Thanks for sharing this house for our 28th anniversary. Tammy and Johnny. Charleston SC

Great Mountain Hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough about our stay! The cabin is immaculate, well stocked, and private. Of course, our two teenager's favorite was the hot tub! Our family of four really enjoyed getting out and about to nearby areas such as Chimney Rock, Black Mountain, and downtown Asheville; the drives were very easy. My husband and I really appreciated Lisa and Jay's overwhelming kindness and tenacity when dealing with the one night IRMA decided to visit. Lisa was in constant touch, making sure we had everything we needed. She even brought me coffee the next morning! We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful view but significant safety concern with hot tub!

  • 3 of 5

Wifi didn't work for first day. Hot tub didn't work upon our arrival on thurs night. After flipping breaker numerous times finally got power to hot tub as Lisa recommended but we should have been wary. Once in hot tub and attempting to shut off outside light I was shocked when touching junction box while sitting in hot tub. We promptly got out and. I refused to go back in. Significant safety concern. Lisa promised to reimburse for both issues but I haven't seen anything yet!

Stairway to Heaven on Earth

  • 5 of 5

Many have mentioned the stairs and I will say they are numerous but worth the climb. With my heart beating and slightly out of breath, I opened the door and immediately said out loud " WOW, this place is AWESOME" Once you enter the cabin, you will see the beautiful mountain view. The cabin is clean and has everything you could possibly need. We were greeted by a lovely bottle of wine, which was totally appreciated. The cabin is located near many area attractions. We visited the Biltmore Estate Gardens and Winery one day. It was incredible! We climbed to the summit of Chimney Rock another day. It was nice after all that walking and climbing to soak in the hot tub. We ate at this place called Biscuit Heads for breakfast, which was terrific. Spent many nights just hanging out at the cabin with the other couple who was with us. Prepared many nice meals on the grill. Saw lots of wildlife. Thank you for sharing your cabin. We hope we can return some day.
