Host ghosted us and never provided check in instructions. I finally had to call VRBO who tried 3x and still no response. They made it right and refunded us and then some. Hours later the host sent a cancellation msg stating minimum age requirement not met….um I’m 49! DO NOT BOOK!

Yes, easy access to outside, but difficult that you only allow 1 dog, I have one dog who is almost 17, she can't see much and can't hear, so we have a little 2 yr old dog who is only 7 lbs, and she is sort of the 'guide dog' for the older one - she follows her so she knows where to go. so I needed to have them both there. Also, I was not aware there was no AC in the very cute cottage. There was no regular coffee maker, and when I tried to use the Keurig pod type thing it didn't work. Finally, I am not a 'streaming' TV person, and since there was no 'cable' I really couldnt use the TV. So that is why we left after 1 night, and moved into Montecito.

Ivy Oaks in Carpinteria is a magical place. This orchard, horse compound type property has been in the family since the 40’s. We love sharing our space with visitors.

What makes this property unique

Retro Beach Casita is a newly remodeled, bright, unique and unforgettable studio that was formerly known as the “butlers quarters” over a hundred years ago to the 23rd US President’s son. It was moved in the 40’s to the southern corner of the property and a kitchen, bathroom and a closet were added.
Perfectly located just 2mi (5min) from the Santa Clause beach, 2.6 (9min) from State Beach and a quick hop on the S hwy101 to the Rincon beach a world class, famous surfing break in Carpinteria. We are just one mile from the Santa Barbara Polo Club, 2.5 miles from downtown Carpinteria, 11 miles from Santa Barbara, 20 miles from the Santa Barbara Airport and 86 miles from Los Angeles.
Inside, with all the bells and whistles, its open floor plan is minimal and functional leaving plenty of room to put together a puzzle or do yoga. Board games, puzzles, Barbies, toys, Legos and cards are stocked in the cupboard. The coffee table lifts into a desk with use of an office chair for remote school or work. A fully stocked color coordinating kitchen is ready for feasts. Tea, coffee and spices are plentiful. Cozy up for some 50’ smart TV entertainment in the living room or sprawl out on the queen bed. Enjoy access to three delicious passion fruit vines outside your bedroom window. Chill in the inclosed private grass backyard or shoot darts on the dart board. Just off the kitchen, enjoy a partially shaded, tastefully decorated veranda. Lounge on an L shaped couch while gazing at the propane fire pit table, share a meal around the patio dining table, or BBQ dinner on the gas grill. Overhead market lights will make your evening sparkle.
