Rustic Sol........All warmth and coziness

The name of the cabin, Rustic Sol, captures its essence. Modernised and comfortable, the cabin retains its rustic Tahoe charm and soul. And atop a rise and south facing, it basks in glorious 'sol' (sun). And yet there are many more outstanding features……..

The land to the north slopes gently down over conservancy and forest service lots providing privacy, forest views, and excellent tobogganing opportunities.

The 2 storey cabin has been renovated and appointed with a thoughtful combination of antique and modern furnishings to provide a comfortable stay while maintaining the rustic character. Some qualities include:
- Gas fireplace/stove for ambience and to protect the air quality in the Lake Tahoe basin.
- Triple pane windows for a draught free and warm stay.
- Central heating to ensure that every room, including the bathrooms, is comfortable.
- 46in LED Smart TV with access to internet apps such as YouTube, Pandora, etc; HD free to air TV stations; and a large library of movies and TV series.
- A chef's kitchen with granite counter tops and all new appliances
- New king and twin mattresses, bedding, and down comforters for a good nights sleep
- High speed internet, wifi and a telephone to stay connected.
- Access to Chamberlands private beach (beach ONLY, no pool or tennis access).

Rustic 'Sol' is the ideal mountain getaway regardless of whether it is outdoor adventure or relaxation that is on the agenda. The cabin is convenient to amazing skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and spectacular sandy beaches on the lake. In the summer, take the free shuttle to the beach, or in winter, call Homewood Mountain Resort for a free pickup.

Please note that the driveway is narrow and curves upwards to the house, hence, AWD or 4WD cars with tires suitable for snow are required in winter due to the likelihood of snow.

Our group of four found rustic soul, very charming and comfortable. It was well stocked with cooking supplies, coffee, and condiments that we were able to use. It was great for us to shower and wash clothes on our van trip through California. We loved walking around in the neighborhood and some of the nearby trails.

The house was very comfortable and easily accommodated our group of 4. Great location within easy reach of the trails we wanted to hike and Tahoe City. House was well-stocked with everything we needed. We especially appreciated how quickly the housekeeper replaced the coffee maker which had broken prior to our arrival. Upstairs tub did have a slow drain but that was a very minor inconvenience. Would definitely stay here again.

This property is in an ideal location on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful with pines and cedar throughout. Just a half mile from Chambers Landing, you can walk to the beach which has stunning views of the Sierras. We ate at the restaurant there as well as had great drinks at the marina. Super fun spot!! The home itself is cozy and comfortable with a nice deck and BBQ. The kitchen was well stocked and cooking was super easy. Loved this stay and will book here again!

Cabin was very clean! Kitchen was supplied with everything a cook would need or want. Beds were extremely comfortable! Outdoor space was really nice, Missed not having the outdoor patio table, I think the top must have broke because it was tucked away! Grill was clean and plenty of gas! Cabin was centrally located and not too far from all the things we wanted to see and do! Highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to explore the area!!

This little cabin was the perfect respite from the real world. It was in a beautiful, quiet, hilly area. The kitchen had everything you would ever need and was completely stocked with every condiment and spice on the planet. There was even a first aid kit and other things that could be used for small injuries and cuts. The bathrooms were clean and very nice. We used the BBQ once and it appeared as though it were brand new (there was also a full, spare propane cylinder in case the one installed in the BBQ ran out). All in all, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this beautiful, cozy spot in the woods to friends and family.

The hosts thought of everything!We stayed over Christmas and cooked our holiday meals. The kitchen was fully equipped. You can tell the home is well loved and taken care of. We hunkered down during a snow storm, & kept warm by the fireplace. Our hosts thought of everything one might need during a stay. Truly a blessed time.

Quiet and peaceful

Amazing location in a nice neighborhood. Cute, and fully equipped cabin. Enjoyed our morning walks with coffee, and did several hikes using the “Best Hikes in Tahoe” book that was provided for guests. We really enjoyed our stay.

What a cozy, clean, and well-maintained cabin! We were very surprised at the unexpected added bonus of a downstairs bedroom and bathroom! Such a nice addition to an already welcoming house! A very nice cabin to stay during the summer (we stayed the week after Labor Day). We liked the fact that all household items worked and having a washer and a dryer made things convenient. We liked the central location as we visited Truckee, Donner Lake, Incline Village, Emerald Bay, and Echo Lake. Very much recommended.

How many ways do we love the mountains?

We have hiked, backpacked, snowboarded, skied, camped, and soaked in hot tubs throughout the Sierra Nevada mountains.

We completed the John Muir Trail.

We got engaged at the top of Mt Whitney.

We named our daughter Sierra.

And now we have Rustic 'Sol' to continue to build and sustain mountain stories and memories.
