Had a GREAT time!!! The place was beautiful, with great views of the bay. Plenty of run for the 7 of us. Cooked meal as a family and played cards at night. After a day of sightseeing it was nice to come back to a house that felt like home. Thanks for the experience.
The home is easy to find and has a nice view. There were bugs in the tub, spiders at the front entrance and there is a lack of closets and mirrors on the first floor. The house was poorly prepared for the two hour power outage.
The home was a perfect fit for our weekend getaway with family. The layout of the house provided everyone with their own space as well as a large kitchen and dinning table for all of us to come together. Relaxing on the large patio with great views of the bay was a peaceful place to enjoy a glass of wine and great conversation.
Clam chowder, crab cakes, coffee and wine tasting with small bites are within walking distance. The hike to the beach is a trek in the sand. Great beaches are a short drive away up the coast. Sonoma wineries are a pleasant drive through the area.
I would definitely recommend the comfortable, quiet, tastefully decorated home. Monika, the owner, was very helpful and answered any questions promptly.
Everything went smoothly with the reservation. The house was as nice as it looked in the pictures and has a very nice feel to it. The lot is nicely situated up on the hill, with paths out the back door to the dunes and ocean and out the front door the roads lead to the bay. We rode bikes to the bay or hiked to the beach in the morning, lunched on clam chowder and went tide pooling in the afternoon. It was foggy every day which appealed to some of our crew but not others. Bodega Bay is a sweet get away!
Loved the views and the decor. The spa was excellent with the children. We loved two master suites with King beds. Overall wonderful indoor and outdoor living. Open windows and furniture was awesome.
A few things to make it even better:
Closets or hanging armoire storage
Indoor outdoor wine glasses and dishware.
Also, the propane tank was out. We had to go into town and buy a new tank for bbq'ing. This was a bummer in the middle of evening celebrations.
Thanks for a wonderful time!!
We rented the house for a girls weekend leading up to my wedding and it was perfect. We really enjoyed experiencing the coast and hiking/walking the Bodega Trail Head nearby, while still being close enough to explore Sonoma County's many wineries. The house is nicely stocked with the items you would need during your stay (except grill tongs which made grilling a challenge) and has comfortable beds. We had someone who wanted to sleep in the little cottage out back for extra quiet and it worked out well. Don't miss the clam chowder and crab cakes from the little place down the road! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
After spending your day wine tasting in Sonoma county, relax in the coastal town of Bodega Bay. Enjoy the famous Salt Water Taffy from the pink and white painted candy shop, go Whale watching at Bodega Head then buy fresh crab and fish from the dock at marina and cook at home on the BBQ with dinner on the deck, take a short hike to the beach through the dunes, rent paddle boards or surf boards from the local surf shop, ride horses on the coast and take a drive up the famous coastline of Hwy 1. In Bodega, there are several great restaurants with a focus on local produce and specialities, enjoy your morning cup at the local coffee shop and our favorite clam chowder on the coast at the Spud Point Crab Company. Visit the locations in town that scenes from Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. Bring kids to Bodega Marine Laboratory.
