We invite you to enjoy this treasure at our Kiahuna unit #107. It's on the top floor of a two story building with a sweet partial view of the ocean, which regularly invites you to stroll the 3 minute barefoot walk to the beach (and which you should do frequently!). However, our vacation home also has its many charms that will entice you to linger and savor the tropical paradise that surrounds you. It is fully and stylishly remodeled - check out the photos! Our unit has lovely furnishings and all the amenities that you would expect (including free wireless internet access); see details below. Complimentary access is included to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club, across the street, with its pool, tennis, and extensive new work-out facilities.

We feel our vacation home is the perfect place to either chill out on a romantic get-away or springboard to the many adventures available on Kauai. Come check it out. Be forewarned: you will likely want to come back.

About Mark King

We are a professional couple living in Washington state. We have enjoyed staying at Kiahuna many times over the past twenty years. We have also visited the other Hawaiian islands, which all have their charms and attractions, however, we always find ourselves drawn back to lovely, peaceful Kiahuna. We feel very fortunate to have our own place in paradise. We always are looking forward to our next trip back.

Why Mark King chose South Shore

We both had childhoods in which we were able to spend lots of time playing and swimming on wonderful beaches. We still love being on a beautiful beach, and playing in clear warm water. For us, this is always pure bliss. In additiion, we love the spacious grounds, luxuriant tropical landscaping, and Old Hawaii feel of Kiahuna. And last, but not least, Poipu gets the best sunny weather on Kauai!

What makes this condo unique

We love looking out the window, or sitting on the lanai, and seeing the blue ocean. We also travel a lot for our work and really appreciate clean and well-designed accommodations. Our condo is just that, and it's a pleasure to spend time in, especially with someone you love.

In addition to amenities noted above, our unit has lovely tile floors throughout (with carpet in the bedroom); plantation shutters on wood tracks; ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom; excellent airflow/breeze orientation; a room safe; and easy walking access to the beach, pool, and shopping center across the street with a market, restaurants, shops, and a Starbucks. Free beach towels and chairs available at the Beach Hut; also boogie board rentals there.

Perfect Home Away from Home

We were extremely happy with this condo. Like every condo in Kiahuna Plantation, this unit has excellent cross-ventilation and ceiling fans for cooling. With the screened windows open the trade winds blow gently through, keeping the unit cool while letting in the sounds of paradise. The updated, comfortable furnishings and neutral color scheme add to the peaceful atmosphere. The view was a very special touch for a condo at the rear of Kiahuna. I loved that I could see the brilliant blue waves from a comfy living room chair!

The kitchen was well-equipped, as were the closets. Included were beach items like an umbrella, boogie board and cooler, as well as useful housekeeping equipment like a broom and laundry basket. We had what we needed in the kitchen for simple meals and I'm sure we could have gotten fancy with our cooking as well. (We did eat out a lot. Try the hula pie at Keoki's!)

Mark and Laurie were great owners to work with. They were very responsive throughout the rental process and it was apparent that they love their place and really try to offer something special to their guests.

The unit is a short walk from a wonderful stretch of beach on the ocean side and the athletic club and pool on the other. Kiahuna Plantation boasts beautiful, carefully-maintained grounds which are a delight to stroll through on your way to the beach. Although surprisingly lacking in chickens, Kiahuna is home to a variety of birds, including the sweet-voiced white-rumped shama (singing outside our bedroom daily), red-crested cardinals, mynas, cattle egrets, plovers, the occasional black-crowned night-heron and plentiful house sparrows. Roosters across the street will cheerfully wake you up at 4am. I didn't mind.

A short walk down the road to the west takes you to a small shopping area with restaurants and a variety of small shops you might expect to find in a touristy area. A longer drive that direction takes you to another shopping area (Kukui'ula Shopping Area) with even more restaurants and more touristy shops and a Longs Drugs, perfect for those liquids you couldn't fit in your carry-on.

The beach in front of Kiahuna and east to Poipu Beach proper offers a variety of waves for a variety of beach-going fun. At Poipu Beach, a short walk east, there is a protected, shallow kiddie pool under lifeguard protection, while other spots boast waves for surfing and clear water for snorkeling. Remember sunscreen.

We are already starting to plan our next visit!

Newly remodeled unit Tastefully decorated

Very nice condo, great location

We had a great stay at Mark and Laurie's condo in October 2016. The location of the condo is very good - a few minutes walk to the beach, but away from the beachfront hubbub. We traveled around the island during our stay and found the beach right outside the condo to be the best for sunbathing, surfing, and snorkeling. The waves were a bit much for little kids, but bigger kids (5+ years old) were loving it.

We used the community BBQs a few times during our stay, which were very clean and well-maintained and close to the condo. The ocean view from the lanai is very peaceful and its clear that Mark and Laurie work to ensure the grounds crew keeps the tree cut back so the view can be enjoyed by guests. The condo itself was perfect - we loved the Hawaiian decor and relaxed and comfortable furnishings. We already want to go back!!

Amazing time

We had a wonderful time in this Condo, it is perfect. Everything you need is either in the condo or within walking distance. Quick walk to the beach one direction and a quick walk to the pool and athletic club the other direction. The Condo is very comfortable, a beautiful view of the ocean, updated and very well maintained. We will definitely be back!

Lovely beach home at the Kiahuna Plantation.

We genuinely enjoyed our time in Mark King's beautiful condo. Honestly, it was just perfect! We all will have memories for years to come of Kauai and condo 107 at the Kiahuna Plantation.

We'll definitely refer our family and friends who are looking for a place to stay in Kauai to VRBO and Mark King.

Love our home away from home! We have stayed at the kiahuna plantation many times and love it. This is my first time in #107 and it has been my favorite! Love all the upgrades and decor. I will be back again soon.

Kiahuna Beach is just one fabulous beach in a string of five adjacent fabulous beaches. Silky sand; swimming is divine; snorkeling is a blast. Great year round surfing in walking distance for beginners to experts. Also great standup paddle boarding and boogie boarding.
