Alpine Log Cabin's great room invites you in to enjoy a cozy, warm gas log fireplace that lights with the flick of a remote and a large relaxing sectional sofa where you can watch your favorite programs on the HUGE FLAT-SCREEN SMART TV with a Blu-ray DVD player. The great room TV also has FREE NETFLIX. In addition, Alpine Log Cabin features UNLIMITED LOCAL AND UNLIMITED LONG DISTANCE CALLING (within the U.S.) The dining room table seats six comfortably and the bar area seats an additional three guests. The extremely well-equipped kitchen makes for easy food preparation and clean-up including a dishwasher. The main floor bathroom has a convenient full-size washer and dryer.

Extra features include FREE high-speed internet and WiFi throughout the cabin. Alpine Log Cabin has a large, inviting deck with both a gas and a charcoal grill. It also has a table that seats six which allows you and your friends to experience the changing seasons.

The lowest level of the cabin features a wonderful game roow with an antique pool table, foosball table, poker table, magnetic dart board game and bean bag toss game (also known as cornhole). To include the whole family we have added a giant size checkers game, dominoes (which can be used to play Mexican Train), bingo game with cage, playing cards and chips along with a Hoyle's Book of Card Games. You can watch your favorite shows on our large flat screen TV while using the recreation room amenities!

Enjoy breathtaking sunrises in a beautiful wooded setting along with the soothing sounds of nature. We provide a handy booster chair and port-a-crib for the baby. Well-behaved dogs are welcome for an extra fee. As owners, we will do everything possible to make this a vacation to cherish.

With easy access off North Carolina Route 105 on all paved roads, Alpine Log Cabin retreat is conveniently located to many major attractions --- Valle Crucis, home to Mast General Store; Horn in the West Outdoor Drama, Mystery Hill, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, and Tweetsie Railroad. Fun is just down the road at Hawk's Nest Snow Tubing and Zipline. Seven Devils Road and Alpine Drive are also paved and well-maintained. You will appreciate our off street parking for up to three cars. The town has its own police and fire departments a mere two blocks away!

Tennis Courts and a large, modern children's playground along with hiking trails to Otter Falls are available in Seven Devils. The many farmers' markets provide a variety of fresh produce and baked goods for your table. Festivals, like the famous Wooly Worm Festival, and the Scottish Highland Games offer fun for everyone.

Alpine Log Cabin is also very close to the cities of Boone, the

bustling home of Appalachian State University offering both sports and cultural events; Blowing Rock with it's unique shops; and Banner Elk, home to Lees-McRae College with its vibrant theater program. Boone also offers Horn in the West, an outdoor theater extravaganza which chronicles Daniel Boone's part in winning the Revolutionary War. This and Tweetsie Railroad are two of North Carolina's top picks for a vacation destination.

About Carole and Forrest Byron, Owners - Alpine Log Cabin

Forrest and I have always been part of the entertainment and vacation industry. Before buying Alpine Log Cabin we owned and operated a Yogi Bear's Camp Resort providing family fun for kids of all ages. Giving you that same type of vacation experience seemed a natural fit. We love our renters and strive to make sure they have the ultimate vacation experience at an affordable price. We are detail oriented which will be obvious when you come to the cabin and see all of the literature, brochures and restaurant menus we have collected to make your stay both inviting and easy.

Carole and Forrest Byron, Owners - Alpine Log Cabin purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Carole and Forrest Byron, Owners - Alpine Log Cabin chose Blue Ridge Mountains

We came up to the Boone on a vacation and absolutely fell in love with the area. There was so much to do within a 15 mile radius. We bought the cabin so we could share our love of the area with others. We looked at many cabins before buying Alpine Log Cabin. When we first arrived at the property we realized that while close to LOTS of activities, it still provided the peace and serenity that many of our renters are looking for.

What makes this cabin unique

We were wanting to buy a cabin that reminded us of the cabins we had built at Yogi Bear's Camp Resort. While the campground was in the middle of nowhere we realized that the Cabin and the surrounding area provided a variety of things to see and do. We are close to Linville Caverns, a top North Carolina pick for attractions. Tweetsie Railroad is definitely another attraction that draws people into the area. The cabin was completely modern but still had that rustic "cabiny" vibe. However, if kicking back is what you are looking for, Alpine Log Cabin has that too, You have a fully stocked recreation room, three TV'S, Netflix and amazing views without ever leaving the property. You might even see one of the deer that roam the area!

Guestbook comments from the owner

My family and I stayed here for a quick getaway. It was absolutely wonderful! Very clean and had everything you could need for a trip away from home. The location was great and close to many attractions and restaurants. My family will hopefully be back to enjoy the beautiful area over the summer. Thank you Carole and Forrest for opening your amazing home to us.

Great long weekend with friends!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is beautiful, well appointed, and very comfortable. Carole and Forrest provide excellent information on the local area including a binder of local menus. It was chilly so we spent more time inside than we normally would but the fireplace kept us warm ad cozy. It provided just the right atmosphere to catch up with friends we don't get to see very often. The local attractions, including Grandfather Mountain and Mast General store kept us engaged. In warmer weather/less icy weather we would have done some hiking.

We highly recommend this as a great weekend or longer venue for family and friends.

Owner's Response: WOW!! Thank you for the wonderful Review. We're so glad that you were able to spend some "quality" time with your friends at Alpine Log Cabin. We, too, know just how enjoyable it is to cuddle up to a warm fire in the fireplace on cold nights. We look forward to having you and your friends enjoy Alpine Log Cabin again during a future reservation.

The property was beautiful just as advertized

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our visit. The cabin was just as the pictures showed and was very comfortable. The pool table was a hit with our boys. It was nice to have all the information needed to find things to do or restaurants to go to right in the cabin. The only downside was having to lug luggage up and down the stairs.

We look forward to returning.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review. We're very glad that you and your family enjoyed the time spent at Alpine Log Cabin. We try to have as much information as possible to make it easier to find things to do; places to go; and restaurants for dining. We're happy that you found this to be the case also. As far as having to lug luggage up and down the stairs, when you have a two-story cabin located in a mountainous area you'll have that challenge. We look forward to your return trip to Alpine Log Cabin. Carole and Forrest
