Just the BEST!

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED our stay at Richard's home away from home! If we are ever fortunate enough to get back to Oahu, we will be looking to book this rental first! The owners are very accessible and friendly, but also very hands-off which allows you great privacy and seclusion. The place is perfect for a family who wants to take full advantage of any of Oahu's gorgeous beaches but doesn't want to lug any of the gear with you on the plane. We made full use of the extra beach towels, flippers, beach chairs, etc. Also available are beach toys for younger kiddos and an all important beach umbrella, which you will appreciate as the sun is always out! The on-site washer and dryer is also awesome and allows you to pare down packing extra clothes. The kitchen is very well appointed, with all of the gadgets and gear you'll need to cook in if you prefer that.

I would not hesitate to recommend this property.

  • 5 of 5

The guesthouse was very clean and ready for us on time. Took us only 5-7 minutes to walk to the best beach on the island. The house had everything we needed. We appreciated the use of beach towels, beach mat and boogie boards. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was very quiet. My husband met Richard who was extremely nice. We hope to stay here again. It was great.

Spacious, clean, close to beach

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here. First time Hawaii and arriving at midnight, we went straight to bed after 30 hours of travel. The next morning we were amazed by the spacious apartment, everything you need was there. Complimentary drinks, beach towels, boogieboards etc. Nice balcony to relax on. Parkingplace on the spot. Within 5 minutes at the beautiful beach of Kailua. 5 Minutes to supermarkets and 10 minutes to Lanikai.

We stayed with 5 people and had enough space. I recommend this place especially for families with children. Mahalo and aloha!

Another great stay in Kailua

  • 5 of 5

Mahalo Richard and Veronica. As usual the apartment was spotless with sweet and delicious surprises awaiting us. We love the location - the easy access to H3, the Pali, and Likelike make this a wonderful place to stay without sitting in your car for hours in the Honolulu and further out traffic. Can't wait to get back.

Best Oahu Base Camp

  • 5 of 5

This Guest House was superb!

It was a 5 minute walk to a boogie boarding beach that was NOT crowded! We watched the sunrise several times and we were the only ones with 100 yards on either side. Our hosts supplied all of the beach gear: boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach chairs, beach towels, and sandcastle building supplies. The outside of the house even had a mini-shower to wash sand off of feet and "slippahs."

Our refrigerator and pantry were stocked with common condiments and there was even cup-o-noodles in the cupboard, which was great because we arrived near midnight, starving, after restaurants had closed. The kitchen was stocked with all needed equipment and we even made cookies and baked a birthday cake one day. Our hosts surprised us with macadamia nut chocolates and kona coffee on the table for our arrival.

The beds were comfortable, the couch was huge and comfy, the whole property was spotless, and we had plenty of room to stretch out. The shower was spacious, the shower head was a wand-type (to get sand out of everywhere) and included shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There was a large flat-screen television and a DVD player to watch videos after dark. Several nights, we played cards while sitting on the floor around the coffee table and there was enough room for all of us on the carpet. There was a front-loading washing machine and dryer which we used a couple times during the week, too.

Our hosts supplied lots of information about things to do on the island and we had a different adventure every day. The carport was covered and provided a secure place to load and unload, as well as a shady table to sit and read or play games outside. There was even a barbecue grill on the patio and a deck upstairs to enjoy the outdoor views.

The only downside to the property was the slightly inadequate cooling system. (We may just be overly sensitive to the heat and humidity because it was highs in the 60s when we left home.) Richard was very gracious and talked to us a couple times during our week-long stay.

Mahalo, Richard and Veronica - this was a fantastic experience for our family!
