Not only is this property centrally located so that you can explore the entire island at your leisure. But you have 5 incredible surf breaks within 2 minutes. There is a supermarket within walking distance and town is just 5 minutes away for shopping and restaurants. This home is very private, and feels like country, yet it is so close and convenient to everything. All this and you have a semi-private beach!
Often overlooked by visitors is proximity to shopping and hospital care. If you don't want to spend your vacation sitting in traffic, we are very close to Kahului, where all the business and shopping gets done on the island and just 5 minutes to Maui's only major hospital.
This is an amazing place. Secure, residential, and right next to the Iao river mouth and the ocean. The space itself is so private and quiet. The finishes are the nicest you can find on island, and everything you could ever need is within the unit.
Kevin was so helpful and turned me on to the best beach only locals know about. A short walk away is a large grocery store. Oh, and horses and goats and a huge trapeze on what looks like an old farm but is open to the public to walk around.
The bed is fabulous. Two ceiling fans and a speedy AC unit you barley need to run before the place is chilled. The couch chaise lounge is excellent, and it pulls out to make a bed-sized space for a second sleeper or a great movie watching spot for a couple of friends. Oh, and the tv is mounted to where it will swing around to the bed or the couch.
The water pressure of the shower is heavenly. There's a surf shower outside to get the sand off. The Roomba is a nice touch in case any sand does come inside. The large tiles used for the flooring is perfect for the climate and is easy to keep clean.
The landscaping is intimate, immaculate, and lush. The gardener comes weekly and makes this place feel super clean. I made friends with several frogs, anoles, and geckos. Because of those guys, I think, I was never bitten by any bugs the entire month I stayed there.
Amenities such as a nice propane BBQ in my private yard, all the water sports equipment including top shelf snorkeling stuff at my disposal, coolers of various sizes, chairs, umbrellas... All are here for you. No rentals are needed when you stay here. And Kevin is a great landlord. He will leave you in peace unless you ask him for advice or assistance. He's both accessible and allows you to do your own thing.
Properties like this are rare in Wailuku. I recommend this 100%. If I could buy just this rental on its own, I'd be over the moon and move tomorrow; it's that good.
Discover the aloha of old Hawaii, outside the tourist zone, on the cooler windward side of the island far from the crowded beaches and traffic in Kihei, Lahaina, Kaanapali, etc. It is not uncommon to be the only person on our beach, and you are just a short drive to great hiking at the Waihee preservation, Waihee ridge trail, waterfalls in Kahakuloa, and Iao valley! Waiehu public golf course is just up the street and the least expensive 18-hole course on the island, plus it is beach front. We are also just a couple miles from the Maui Arts Center (MAC) for concerts, the local community college where there is a swap meet every Saturday, and the island's main hospital. Excellent surf break right out back, across the bay from Kanaha so perfect for windsurfing. Close to town for shopping and entertainment yet has a very country feel.
