About Janis Maliszewski

I've lived in Massachusetts my whole life, going to college at Regis College for undergrad, Lesley U and UMass Lowell for 2 Masters Degrees. I am a 'retired' teacher who still works 3-5 days a week for the love of it.

I currently live in Massachusetts, enjoying the history and culture of this state. Much as I love my state, I also love traveling the rest of our country and the world!

Janis Maliszewski purchased this condo in 2010

Why Janis Maliszewski chose Cape Cod

Location, Location, Location!

Since the 1970s, 'The Cape' has been part of my life. My folks had a house in Hyannis for many years, and it was then I fell in love with the 'village' of Hyannis! One of my dreams was to have a place of my own to 'get away' from it all, be able to park my car and just walk everywhere. That's what this place provides...a central location where I can just walk and enjoy the fantastic views of the harbor and the ocean. I hope you will love the location and my special place as much as I do.

What makes this condo unique

One of the special things I love about this property is during the summer when the windows are open and the beautiful breeze is cooling the indoors, I can hear the sound of the boats and ferries with their deep sounding horns as they enter the harbor.

Charming condo in great location.

  • 5 of 5

Cozy, charming condo with everything you need to be comfortable. The kitchen is even stocked with more than the basics. Beds are comfortable, higher end linens and towels. Walking distance to Main St, harbor, restaurants, shops. Owner is very accessible without being at all intrusive. Would highly recommend!

Cozy and Convenient

  • 4 of 5

I spent the month of February in this Hyannis condo and was very pleased. It's an easy walk up Main Street to shops, coffeeshops, and restaurants and a slightly longer walk or short drive to Cape Cod Hospital and the medical area of town. The condo has 2 comfy bedrooms, plenty of sunshine in the morning, and a well-equipped kitchen. The owner is very responsive and the pricing is more than fair. I would highly recommend this as a temporary home-away-from-home.

Cape Cod Vacation

  • 5 of 5

I don't even know where to begin! A great condo in the perfect location for us and we didn't even use the pass included to go to the beaches! Our visit was for a month from mid September to mid October. A wonderful time to be in Hyannis and to see the many sites of Cape Cod. Everything we wanted to see and do within 1 1/2 hours. Downtown Hyannis is filled with shops and restaurants as well as the JFK Museum and the Cape Cod Baseball Hall of Fame. The Lewis Bay waterfront is a short 10-15 minute walk with both the Steamship Authority and the HyLine ships to both Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Also there are the Artist Shanties with different artists each week or so....not forgetting the waterfront Baxter's Restaurant, Spanky's and the Black Cat.

When venturing beyond Hyannis we visited Provincetown, walking the main street for many shops and restaurants and whale watching with the Dolphin Fleet. The National Seashore offers many lighthouses and beaches. We visited antique shops along route 6A from Sandwich to Brewster. Chatham and Eastham with lighthouses and mills, fisheries with the seals and of course restaurants were all stops during our road trips.

We met friends for lunch in Buzzard's Bay area and on the return toured the Sandwich Glass Museum. Another day we spent in Falmouth and Woods Hole seeing Nobska Lighthouse and downtown.

Since the condo is so close to the Hyline we left the car there and walked to the ship for our two night stay in Nantucket. A must see if interested in Whaling history. Beautiful area with many historic sites, B & Bs, and cobblestone streets. The trip to Martha's Vineyard was another day trip with a 2 hour tour of the island including Gay Head Lighthouse and a walk around the town of Oak Bluffs.

But without the condo as our "home away from home" this trip would not have been as good or as affordable. No changing hotels and all the packing and unpacking to go with it.

We had a couple minor problems/questions and Jan was very prompt in her response and what we needed to do. One of our best experiences renting. If we were to return we'd definitely stay again. Thank you, Jan!

A home away from home

  • 5 of 5

The condo was neat and well maintained providing a comfortable home away from home. If you are looking for a great rental to explore the the Cape then this is the place for you. You can get to anyplace on the Cape easily, we went to Woods Hole to the south and Provincetown to the north with an easy drive in either direction. The condo is just a short walk from the ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard saving you the added parking expense.

If you are looking for good food then you can easily walk to Main Street, or the Harbor. We really enjoyed dinner at the Dockside, and The Black Cat had the best New England Clam Chowder. If you are looking for a great breakfast then head to the Sea Street Cafe and try the homemade Corned Beef Hash.

Want to go the beach then take advantage of the included beach pass and explore all of the Barnstable beaches. We decided that Sea Street Beach was the best. The beach was clean, the view beautiful and it wasn't crowded at all.

Janis communicates with you throughout the rental process providing good information about the condo and what to do in Hyannis. The included extras of the Beach Pass, Linens, and Beach Chairs means you have everything you need when arrive. So sit back and enjoy your vacation.

Cute condo in a great spot

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed in this condo for a week in July. The location is awesome. It is a 5 minute walk from Main St. - tons of shops, restaurants, etc. - and about a 15 minute walk down to the dock for the ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Since we also had a rental car, it was only about an hour to Truro (home to a great little winery) and Provincetown (the end of the cape). The condo was stocked with everything you could ever need. The fully stocked kitchen was perfect for us to make our own breakfast each morning. There was even a beach pass to 10+ beaches in/around Hyannis, which saved us $50+ on parking fees alone. Janis also has a great collection of beach chairs, towels, an umbrella, and a cooler for you to use. The condo is in great condition, very clean, and well taken care of. There is a cookie bakery just out of the front door, so each morning we left, it smelled of fresh baked cookies. We had an amazing time here, and we look forward to staying here again on our next trip to the cape. Thanks, Janis!
