Although, Lani Kai and Kailua Beach tend to receive all the attention, quiet Waimanalo Bay shares the same magical windward coast charms but without the crowds. The white sandy bottom bay and beach stretches for miles. It remains one of Oahu s unspoiled beauties. Staying in Waimanalo will allow you to enjoy the feeling of being away from it all but still have all the convenience of Waikiki and downtown Honolulu only 30 minutes away. Relax and enjoy this beautiful island style home. Perfectly laid out for large or multiple Ohanas (families). The home offers a large open floor plan with breathtaking ocean and mountain views. A master and second bedroom are located in the Sherwood Forest wing and are connected by the large master bath (complete with a two person jacuzzi tub!) On the Makapuu wing you will find the second Master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a 4th bedroom with its own bathroom as well. This home provides more than enough space to spread out and comfortably sleep10 people. There are a total of 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room with enough seating for 10+, and large living room with a wet bar and game table for those fun family nights. An expansive deck faces out to the ocean. There is an outdoor shower and boogie boards and snorkel equipment!

The home is also securely gated with its own private beach access gate. Make sure to wake up early and enjoy your morning cup of coffee under the covered lanai and experience some of the most amazing rainbow colored sunrises, play on the beach, and fall asleep to the sound of the surf.

You will be within walking distance to: small markets, cafes, plate lunch, or shave-ice. Anything else you may want is only 15 minutes away in the quaint beach town of Kailua, or the larger town of Hawaii Kai where you will find theaters, restaurants, and shopping, Costco and much more!

There are several activities in close proximity including Sea Life Park where you can swim with the dolphins and experience a Hawaiian Luau with fire dancers. Or you can hike the easy trail up to the Makapu'u Lighthouse where you will be able to whale watch in the winter months. Along a 10-minute breathtaking coastal drive you' can stop at Makapu'u and Sandy Beaches (world famous body surfing beach), Blowhole, Hanauma Bay (Snorkeling) and arrive in Hawaii Kai with great restaurants, shopping and all sorts of activities from boating, jet-skiing, para-sailing, golf, etc.

A 30-40 minute drive will take you to Pearl Harbor, Downtown, Waikiki and Ala Moana Shopping Center. A 45 minute to an hour drive will take you to the North Shore and Haleiwa.

wonderful vacation!!!

We had a wonderful week at Aloha Nalo! Diane, the property manager, was there to greet us with plenty of info and a great basket of treats! They had even put up a Christmas tree with surprises for our 3 yr old granddaughter.

The house worked perfectly for all 9 of us. Bedrooms & baths were all nicely appointed . The kitchen is huge & has more dishes, appliances, cooking utensils than we have at home.

The beach is wonderful, we visited several beaches on Oahu but none compared to Waimanalo! The community is walkable and we enjoyed shopping in the co-op and Ono's Shrimp & Steak for take out.

I hope we can stay in this lovely beach front home again!

Beautiful house, beautiful views, spacious and comfortable, great location

Can't say enough great things. I had a group of five adults and three children stay in this house for a week. The house was more than enough space and came with everything we needed. The manager, Diane, is wonderful and welcoming. The views are stunning and a perfect gorgeous sandy beach is right out the back door. The location is wonderful, far enough away from the congestion of Honolulu but close enough to anything you'd need. And Honolulu is only a scenic 30-40 minute drive away if you want to sight see there. I'd stay here again no question.

Absolutely perfect!

TL;DR – the pictures don’t do the property justice. It’s extremely spacious and in a quiet neighborhood. The people responsible for the home and rental agreement were very helpful and informative. The home has a few years on it, so don’t expect it to be brand new, but do expect it to feel like home!

Firstly, if you decide to stay at this home you will be dealing with a rental agency first, and then later with Diane the house watcher. That being said, both the agency and later Diane were absolutely wonderful in answering any and all questions that we had, as well as making some considerations for the particulars of our stay. Other things to note for staying anywhere in Hawaii in general is that all beaches in Hawaii are public land. So there is a public beach path near the house. Even still, the beaches near this home were generally empty aside from seeing some residents, locals, and the odd wedding or two. I highly recommend renting a vehicle if you want to truly enjoy this side of the island or wish to go to other areas. Also, being on the windward side expect frequent rain in the mornings during the rainy season.

On to the house! Like I said before this home is beautiful! After coming in the front gate and seeing the size of the courtyard we all started to get excited, but once we entered the main living room and saw the view, we were absolutely blown away!! Diane gave us a COMPLETE tour, and I have to say that I was very glad that she had. The house was full of virtually anything you might need to cook and eat meals, including a refrigerator that had all the normal condiments. The house was built a few decades ago and as such there is salt etching on the windows and some of the louver windows handles are missing. To us though, this just added to the charm of the home as it felt lived in and not just a cookie cutter hotel. In all honesty, our entire group was referring to the house as home within the first few days. When we noticed one of the sliding doors was in need of repair, we notified Diane who promptly had it fixed. The home really spoiled us and we would love to stay here again. I just really can’t say enough good things about how great our experience was staying here!

So in closing, I highly recommend this rental to anyone and I would also like to send a special thank you out to Misty at the rental agency, Diane who takes care of the home, and also the owner for deciding to share the home!! Thank you sincerely, it was perfect!

The Perfect Beachfront Property

This property is spacious, beautifully appointed, spotless, and perfectly located. Eight of us, five adults and three children, stayed for five nights. This was our favorite vacation rental of our two week stay on three islands. The waves at the beach were great for boogie boarding. The home has many lovely touches, especially beautiful original artwork. It is close to Hanauma Bay, grocery stores and restaurants. We were all sad to leave. I recommend this property without reservation.
