About Bruce Carter

Here is just a quick overview of my career along with a few of CVR’s strengths in the Vacation rental industry. .

I have been involved in the hospitality field most of my life. After graduating from Boston University back in 1986 I got my start working as a night auditor in a small hotel just outside of Boston. I soon became fascinated with this industry and wanted to know everything about it. I enjoyed finding ways to improve the overall experience for the guests and in doing so was promoted often. I learned all aspects of each department and through the years I was the General Manager of some well-known hotels. .

During my corporate career as a General Manager of a Hyatt Hotel in Tampa I had an opportunity to manage a small beach vacation rental along the shores of the Gulf. Simply put…I was hooked. This became my new passion and career.

My wife and I had stayed in vacation rentals in the past with mixed feelings about our stays, I knew there was room for improvement in the Vacation Rental business and I was excited to get started.

I feel our success at Carter Coastal Vacation Rentals is from having a variety of vacation property options that suites each guests needs and budget. We also have chosen to keep CVR business relatively small in order to maintain a personable connection with each of our new arrivals. I, along with my team understand the importance of anticipating the guest’s needs as well as treating each guest with complete respect during their vacation getaway.

We take great pride in serving you. We are here for you. So choose one of our properties and soon you will be enjoying a "little slice of paradise" on the beautiful barrier island.

Hope to "see ya" on the Beach

Excellant beachfront location!!

  • 4 of 5

The beach location could not have been better. A quiet beach, beautiful sand...not many people around. It was easily accessible, and easy parking off the street, right under the bungalow. Definitely an older population in the area. I would have enjoyed more shopping in walking distance, but the beach could not be beat. The home was dated, but there was plenty of room for my husband and I and 20 year old son and 18 year old daughter. There was lots of room to sit and sprawl out in, the deck had lots of chairs, too. The ceiling fans and air conditioning kept the place nice and cool. I wish the kitchen would have been stocked with cooking oil, seasonings, plastic wrap, etc. It was our first time staying in a VRBO, tho, so I don't know if those are common items or not.

Everything we expected, and more

This is a unique place. Windows on all 4 sides, the light is amazing. Single dwelling, it is a house on stilts, there are no shared walls or floors, which was good when our grandson pitched a fit at bedtime and stomped his feet.

Loved everything about Beachfront Bungalow

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at the Beachfront Bungalow #7 in December of 2017. The bungalow has been recently renovated and is beautiful!! The bungalow has everything that you will need for a great stay. The wrap around porch is the best part of this place. Lots of chairs available to sit out on the beach or enjoy a nice afternoon on the porch. The Trolley is very convenient as well, runs every 20 minutes, and will take you up and down the coast. Found the communication with the rental company, Carter vacation rentals to be helpful. Look forward to staying here again!

Great Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

Loved the house! It was exactly as described. The house was very clean and most everything we needed was available. We had a couple of small problems such as only one wash cloth and the back of one of the lounge chairs on the porch was broke. Within 1 hour of sending Mr. Carter an email, some one was at the door bringing extra wash cloths and he also repaired the lounge. Couldn't have asked for faster service. We spent most of our time on that wonderful front porch. Will definitely stay here again when I get the chance to come back to Indian Shores Beach!!!
