The house minutes away from three main beaches: Its an 8 minute drive to Southampton Village or a 10 minute drive to Southampton's beautiful Coopers beach; Its 1 minute from the Shinnecock Bay beach and 3 minutes from the Peconic bay beach. Minutes away from the country's premier golf clubs including Shinnecock Hills, National Golf Links of America, Sebonack and Southampton Golf Clubs and another 15 public courses in the neighborhood. Why John Jonge Poerink chose Hamptons

I bought this Southampton property as a weekend house, away from New York City to be close to the beach for surfing, swimming and riding bikes. The house has the advantage of being on the west side of the Hamptons, just an hour and a half away from the city and it avoids the notorious weekend traffic on the 27 highway between Watermill and East Hampton. The house is minutes away from the immaculate Southampton Town beaches (beach deck chairs provided). Southampton Town has terrific lunch or dinner restaurants including St Ambroeus, Le Charlot, Red Bar, Little Red, Tutto Il Giorno and Silvers and some a great shopping. I recommend shopping for groceries at the local organic farm stands in the neighborhood ( The Green Thumb in Watermill is excellent), or Southampton's local organic store Second Nature and Cittarella. The house sits on an acre of land with a large deck with lots of sun great for lounging on the deck chairs and reading and has a large outdoor shower. You can also hop on a bike ( 2 beach cruiser bikes are included) and cruise 1 minute down the hill for a long walk, run or swim in Shinnecock bay. The house is light, with an open kitchen that looks onto the deck and is excellent for entertaining guests for drinks or dinner. The deck has the prerequisite Weber grill.

Fantastic getaway

We had a wonderful week's stay at this house. John was an excellent host and was available to answer questions and provide recommendations at all times. The house is decorated in a chic modern style with beautiful furniture and artwork and is kept immaculately clean. There are plenty of linens and dishes, convenient appliances and excellent wifi. The location could not be any better. We went into Southampton every evening for dinner and to walk on the beach, just 5 minutes away. It was also quick to get to the North Fork to explore the wineries, which we did easily on two different days. To top it off, there was a snow storm so we went sleigh riding in the large beautiful backyard and came into warm ourselves by the cozy fireplace. It was a perfect trip and we will be back!

Wonderful Stay!

Loved this house. It has a great terrace facing south overlooking a large spacious garden. Enjoyed sitting outside and relaxing.

The outdoor shower was a nice bonus.

Southampton Village is only a few minutes away.

Southampton beaches are amazing and only minutes away. Also close to quiet Shinnecock Bay beach and Peconic bay beach so there are many options.

Close drive from NYC.

I would definitely recommend this house...spacious, clean and well maintained. Exactly as pictured.

Hidden and Special Gem

This house has it all:

- Conveniently located to ocean and bay, yet nestled in the woods and close to everything.

- While we were 4, can easily accommodate more. The house has 3 BR and 2 baths, but while there was space, you still felt connected.

- While it's a great home from the 70s (?), the decor is posh and contemporary yet still works.

- The dining area overlooks the long yard and the living space has great energy (and the working fireplace doesn't hurt).

- Impeccably maintained and everything we needed to know was answered.

a wonderful escape from the city

An absolutely wonderful respite from the chaos of the city. this lovely home is impeccably maintained, offering delightful peace and quiet in a space that is both light-filled and cozy at the same time - the large fireplace is especially delightful. The interior design theme is one of understated elegance with its focus on mid-century minimalism.

The location is terrific, a surprisingly quick and easy trip out from the city, and 6 minutes from Southampton offering everything one could ask for in terms of restaurants, grocery stores, shopping and of course the empty clean beautiful beaches.

If you are looking for an escape to a true home-away-from-home, can not recommend this oasis enough!

Hamptons Cozy & Chic Mid-Century Bunglow nestled in Nature

We are a family of 4 and rented this home over the summer of 2016. It was the perfect match for us, and our needs. The home was cozy, chic & immaculate, everything clearly properly maintained. The home owner was super accommodating and beyond helpful, which made our stay a pleasurable one. We enjoyed waking up to the pretty views, lounging on the back patio sipping coffee & reading the paper peacefully among nature and the lovely sounds of the birds chirping. The home decor also tasteful done, with the perfect minimal touch of mid-century style. Also great having the fireplace too in the evenings chill axing over some wine. Another plus is the location. You're within a minimal driving distance to the popular Village of Southampton where there have plenty of great shopping and restaurants to suit your needs, and is the "it" place to spend the day people & fancy vintage car watching. Coopers Beach, which is top rated is also nearby. The house is also equal distance to Hampton Bays, which is great, because it also has much to offer; beaches, seafood & restaurants by the water, and other useful establishments one needs (Grocery stores, Starbucks, Rite Aid, Dry Cleaner, Hair & Nail Salons, Movie Theater, Pizza and Chinese Take-out, etc.) Oh, and best of all if you're like me, and hate sand anywhere in the house ... there is an outdoor shower, perfect to clean up after a day at the beach. In closing, I would highly recommend this house to friends and others seeking a vacation house.

Additional information about rental rates

Refundable damage deposit $700
One time cleaning fee $300

This home is fully licensed for rental by the Town of Southampton. Rentals that run Friday to Friday are preferred. Check-in at 5pm and Check-out is 11 am. Owner will send renters a rental contract upon completing the reservation. The Rental Rate shall include all costs of electrical, water, garbage removal and garden maintenance, but shall exclude costs related to air-conditioning or oil-heating expenses (“Airco Expenses”). The one time cleaning fee (“Cleaning Fee”) shall be three hundred dollars ($300). The refundable damage, and Airco Expenses deposit shall be seven hundred dollars ($700.00) (“D&AC Deposit”). Owner will refund the D&AC Deposit within (7) days after the last day of the Rental Period, but shall subtract any Airco Expenses incurred by Renter during the Rental Period and any damages made to the Property during the Rental Period.

Cancellations:
o Renter may cancel the reservation at no charge if the cancellation is made more than sixty (60) days prior to the first day of the Rental Period and the Owner will promptly refund to the Renter any advance payments made towards the Rental Rate, Cleaning Fee, D&AC Deposit and the VRBO/HomeAwayService Fee.
o If the Renter cancels the reservation between sixty (60) days or less prior to the first day of the Rental Period and more than thirty days (30) prior to first day of the Rental Period, the Renter will forfeit 50% of the total Rental Rate and the full VRBO/HomeAway Service Fee. The Owner will promptly refund any advance payment to the Cleaning Fee and the D&AC deposit.
o If the Renter cancels the reservation thirty (30) days or less prior to the first day of the Rental Period, the Renter will forfeit any payments made towards the Rental Rate and VRBO/HomeAway Service Fee. However, the Owner will promptly refund the D&AC Deposit and the Cleaning Fee.
