Aloha and Welcome to the 'House of Sweet Dreams.' If you were able to pronounce the name of our vacation rental let us Congratulate you on your first Hawaiian language lesson.
Our quaint and cozy, large, one bedroom, Apartment unit is located half a block from world famous Kailua Beach. Kailua meaning 'two seas' is located on the southeastern shore on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.
Come and take a tour with us:
Imagine starting your day with a complimentary cup of fresh brewed Kona Coffee and a sunrise walk on the three mile stretch of pristine white sand beach. With its gentle trade winds and constant water temperatures ranging from 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit (20-25 degrees Celsius), Kailua Beach is a perfect setting for year round water-sports. Some of the activities you may partake in include: swimming, surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, snorkeling, body surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, etc.
There are other water activities nearby including: scuba diving, deep sea fishing, glass bottom boat rides, jet skiing, para-sailing, submarine voyage, etc.
Our 'Hawaiiana' decor gives you the true island feeling of 'home away from home.' Palm trees, antique rattan furniture, 'ukulele' paper towel holder, and kitchen 'ukulele' dish towel rack are some of the unique accents of our unit that are found in no other part of the world. Along with the Bamboo towel bars in the bathroom this unit gives you a tropical feeling of truly being in the Pacific.
After a full day of water activities come back, crank up that Air Conditioning unit to prepare your surroundings for some much needed 'snooze' time. Embellish in a hot shower with complimentary 'local' island fragranced shower gels and lotions. It's time to take some 'R&R' (rest and relaxation). ** BAMM ** REVITALIZATION HAS OCCURRED!!!
By this time you have worked up quite an appetite. Kailua town offers quite a variety of restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining. Some of our favorites include: Los Garcias Mexican, Assagio's Italian, Buzz's Steakhouse, Champa Thai, Noboru Japanese, Big City Diner, Cinnamon's family, etc. There are also the regular fast food restaurants available including: McDonald's, Taco Bell, Jack-in-the Box, Papa John's Pizza, etc.
Another alternative might be to put your favorite foods on the Barbecue Gas Grill and dine on the Patio Lanai. However, and yet still another alternative might be to enjoy a full blown 'night on the town.' The Famous 'Waikiki' is a mere 30 minute drive into Honolulu. A more extensive list of restaurants is available and after dinner you may find a wide variety of music for your listening pleasure or visit some of the local nightclubs and enjoy dancing the night away until 4 AM.
You might not be a water enthusiast - there are various other activities to enjoy - including: golf, hiking, art or historic museums, sight seeing, Pearl Harbor Memorial, shopping, bicycling, Sea Life Park, Waikiki Aquarium, live theater, movies, sky diving, glider rides, etc.
Mahalo and 'Thank You' for coming on our tour we hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we enjoyed taking you on your tropical vacation memory that will last a lifetime. Bring your imagination to reality. You deserve to experience the 'House of Sweet Dreams.'

Fantastic place for my first Hawaiian stay!
There are so many things which make this place great!
1 - Location, about a 4/5 minute walk to the beach
2 - It had everything I needed and more (storage, utensils, toiletries etc)
3 - Outdoor furniture was so useful, especially the beach equipment
4 - Kathy and Val, wonderful hosts, couldn't do enough for me
This place was what part of what made my holiday so fantastic. Would recommend it to anyone that asked!
Thank You SOOOO MUCH for this raving review. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay here at the House of Sweet Dreams. We truly enjoyed hosting you and hoping that you will return someday.
With Much Aloha,
Kathy & Val
Kathy and Val visited our property last summer. We manage vacation rental property on the Central Oregon Coast. So, when we planned to visit Oahu, we naturally looked at their property. After much looking and shopping,we decided deliberately to stay with Kathy and Val. And, we were not disappointed! In fact, we were overtaken with the hospitality of these lovely people! Tammy celebrated here birthday while we were visiting. On the morning of, Val shows up with a traditional birthday lei!
We both loved the MASSIVE shower!! Fresh towels daily, limitless Kona coffee, well-stocked cupboards with essentials galore, and a private entrance. We cannot say enough about how well Kathy and Val are prepared. We brought beach towels and snorkel gear. Kathy and Val had that along with boogie boards, coolers, beach tote bags, and a wagon to carry it all to the beach! WOW!!
The unit is clean as a pin, carefully decorated, cozy (fit the two of us perfectly) and a fantastic “headquarters” for Oahu. One can easily cook (we did breakfast daily) with the kitchen’s pots, pans, microwave, two burner hot plate, and dishware - don’t forget the gas grill! However, we ate out quite a bit as our activities kept us going from early to late.
Kailua Beach was marvelous! Plenty of room, not crowded, surfers, windsurfers, families, and an overall friendly atmosphere. We both enjoyed Kailua Beach beyond words!
Aloha and Mahalo Nui Loa!
Keith and Tammy
Staying at the House of Sweet Dreams is much more than sweet dreams, although the bed is very comfortable. If you are looking for a place to stay that is close to an absolutely beautiful uncrowded beach, shopping and good restaurants all of which you can walk to, then this is the place for you. Plus as a bonus the owners are super. They are very hospitable, knowledgeable and go out of their way to enhance your visit to their island. This was our third time staying at the House of Sweet Dreams and we are looking forward to our next visit.
We really enjoyed our stay! Kathy and Val were super accommodating. Our flight was really really delayed, but Kathy gave us great instructions for getting into the unit. The space is cozy, clean and well-equipped - the pictures are very accurate. The access to the beach is just a few minutes walk away - the location really couldn't be better! Kathy and Val provide a bunch of beach accessories and towels; the patio area is also really nice for washing out beach gear and letting things dry out. We stayed for 4 nights and we wish we could have stayed longer!
Kathy and Val were great! We needed a place for a few days until we found more permanent housing. It worked out perfectly. The bed is very comfortable and the patio a plus. Very clean and well stocked. Kailua is a great little beach town. Thank you!
The Aloha Experience
Our little apartment contained not only all the essentials, but so many thoughtful and delightful extras. We loved the proximity of the beautiful beach as we are beach lovers. Above all, the best part was our wonderful owners, Kathy and Val! Their thoughtfulness and generosity was the true embodiment of the Aloha spirit! We happily recommend the "house of dreams"!
'With 'NO' rocks in the water the BEST Boogie Boarding is a 1/2 block away. We also have lots of toys for the beach: Umbrella, Sun Shade for babies, Frisbees, Paddle Ball, Shovels and Buckets for the kids, Red Wagon for transportation of toys to the beach.'
