The Cottage
The cottage can sleep six with the private master bedroom downstairs, a trundle bed (two singles upstairs) and a comfy pull-out couch in the living area.
The bathroom includes a bath, shower and a heated floor.
The modern kitchen (also with a heated floor) is fully equipped complete with oven, microwave and stove. All crockery, pots, pans, cutlery, cups, mugs and glasses are provided.
The living area has a gas fireplace, a flat-screen TV with DVD and high speed internet access.
The large deck, facing west over the ocean, offers great sunsets and fabulous views year round. There is also a gas BBQ, lounges, and outdoor table and chairs.
There is an abundance of wildlife including eagles, otters, seals and deer while whale sightings from the deck are frequent.
Free parking for one vehicle is provided outside the front door to the cottage.
Getting there
You can get to Pender Island by BC Ferries, float plane, water taxi or private boat. The cottage is within easy walking distance of the ferry terminal at Otter Bay.
Shopping
A general store is a two minute walk away (closed in low season) however a taxi enables guests to travel to the Driftwood Shopping Centre for groceries, gifts, books, liquor, banking and other necessities.
Other Activities
Sunshine! It has been quoted that Pender Island gets as much annual sunshine as the Okanagan.
There are 2 heated pools (one for adults only) as well as a marina. The pools are closed during winter months. Please send request for the dates that the pools are open
Scooters are available for rental at the general store.
A nearby 9-hole golf course (0.5 km away) and there are many wonderful hikes with spectaculat views.
There are a number of restaurants on the island.

Beautiful spot, beautiful cottage!
We’ve stayed in this cottage 3 times now and it’s always fabulous. Very clean, everything we need is provided. We love this spot so much!

A fantastic week get-a-way. So quiet and tranquil. Beautiful views to the water. The cottage is fully equipped and then some. Adult pool was wonderful. Can't wait to go again.

Cozy cabin on the water
We really enjoyed this peaceful place.
Highly recommend for a relaxing vacation on the ocean in the gulf islands.

Picture perfect views!
We loved this relaxing, clean, and comfortable cottage with fantastic ocean views. The large deck was our scenic sanctuary for reading, relaxing and BBQs, and we enjoyed the efficient fireplace in the cooler May evenings. What a treat to stay here!

Our stay was marred by daytime construction noise at the site. And scaffolding on the cottage itself blocking the views from the front room The cottages are apparently being repaired and painted in a large ongoing project. There was very loud beeping from a construction platform and use of a circular saw outside our unit all day so that sitting outside to enjoy the deck or the view was not possible. We ended up spending our daytime hours elsewhere. A huge disappointment because it is a lovely spot and the house was very comfortably set up. The resort manager was unsympathetic and told me the owner should have notified me.

Throughout your visit, you and I were in communication a few times as I worked to address your concerns, and I also offered compensation to you at the time, which you indicated you were very satisfied with. I always aim to respond promptly and supportively whenever an issue arises.
During one of our conversations, you mentioned to me that you had brought your bicycles specifically because you loved cycling and you intended to tour the islands. In your review, however, it appears as though you were compelled to leave the cottage due to noise, even though your cycling trip around the islands was part of your original plans. I share this only to provide context, as it may help future guests understand the circumstances of your stay.
I have been hosting since 2006 and am a very proud VRBO Premier Host with an overall satisfaction rating of 9.8/10 across 79 reviews.
I take great pride in maintaining a very high standards in all the areas VRBO asks guests to rate their stay viz. cleanliness, accuracy of the listing, ease of check in, communication, and location. I remain committed to delivering an excellent experience in each of these categories.
I believe it would be fair to say that your experience in many ,if not all these five areas would have warranted a score higher than “1.”
