The host was so welcoming with a delicious pound cake and coffee bar (coffee pot and keurig). The home was so clean, beds comfy and location was a quick drive to downtown Highlands and the grocery store was super close too. We will definitely be back!!!

Wedding weekend

The home was one of the best locations for our stay, close to the wedding venue, everything about the house and host was perfect. We will certainly return to Highlands, NC and hopefully be able to rent this property again. I highly recommend this location if you liked being treated with a warm welcome, just like family.

Lovely Fall Getaway

We had a great stay in this Highlands home! It accommodated two families with young children really well, was in a good location for easy access to downtown, and had several personal touches that went above and beyond.

Even a hurricane couldn't make this trip a bad one!

Hurricane Helene threatened to make this a terrible experience. However, when I arrive in the pouring rain, I arrived to a fresh baked cake, and a welcoming atmosphere. While I lost power for a few hours, Janet was in touch regularly, including making sure the generator was working, and even managing to get a tech to fix it in the middle of the storm. When the entire area lost cell and wifi, she showed up at the house to make sure I was OK. And meanwhile the fireplace, and games, kept me busy and warm. I would absolutely come back, and look forward to the opportunity!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this house. It is clean, well-maintained, nicely equipped and located in a very pleasant neighborhood. We especially enjoyed the sunroom at the back of the house and the screened in porch. We look forward to staying here again during future visits to Highlands.

Perfect stay!

Our group of five ladies had a great stay at this cute cottage very close to downtown Highlands. The house was just as listed, clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is very nice too. Communication with the owner was quick and easy, and we appreciated the yummy cake that was left for us - such a thoughtful gesture! Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Home in a fantastic location

We loved everything about this property. It is perfectly located less than a mile from Downtown and close to all the hiking trails. Every detail has been thought out in this lovely home. Plenty of linens, blankets and plates/cutlery if you need it. The small touches made this home perfect. There is a gas fireplace that is controlled by a single button so it made it very convenient on the cold evenings that we stayed in. All rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. The sunroom is a beautiful spot to watch nature and enjoy the morning and afternoon sun beams. Our hostess was so thoughtful and left us some personal touches that made the arrival even more welcoming. If you are in to pickle ball there are some great courts that are walking distance from the property. If it is warmer on your stay, the front porch and covered deck would make amazing hangout spots.One note: Although the house is located conveniently to downtown Highlands, there are not sidewalks all the way to downtown so you will need to take a car. Parking is ample so no issue though. The cuisine is exquisite, especially at Four65 and Madison's.All the ladies in my group would 100% book this home again.

Awesome location- only a few minutes from Highlands in a quiet neighborhood. The house is perfectly appointed with everything you need for a short (or longer) stay. The owner was very accommodating and helpful with check in. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Highlands

Wonderful mountain retreat

We absolutely loved our stay here! The house was so cozy and welcoming. There was plenty of space for the 5 of us, comfortable beds, updated bathrooms and lovely decorations! The screened porch off the back is the perfect place to read, play a board game or have a glass of wine. The location is incredible, just a mile from town but really quiet and private neighborhood. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Amazing house and amazing service...in the heart of Highlands!

We are frequent visitors of Highlands and I cannot say enough good things about this house. It is a great location, pictures on listing are representative of the property, and all of the small touches make the house one of our all-time favorites. From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect. Even prior to arrival, Janet made sure we had everything we needed. We will most definitely be back!
