Sunset 389 - Meredith Lodging

This graceful home has its great room on the second floor, where you’ll gain some altitude and improve your attitude as you relax on the front deck and gaze out at the sea. Sunset’s honeyed pine floors, spacious rooms and white plank ceiling present a contemporary living room space with a central gas fireplace and TV. Open the door to the deck and listen to the ocean a few hundred yards to the west. A fully equipped kitchen with a gas range and pretty glass-fronted cabinets has all you’ll need to serve meals at the dining table for eight; there’s a gas barbecue just outside to increase your menu options. A gorgeous king suite with access to the deck adjoins the great room, with ocean-view windows and lots of sun.

Three bedrooms a queen, a king, and a bunk room that sleeps six, share a bath on the lower level and give you the best access to the patio. A wide staircase to the third floor puts you in a divided bonus room one side dedicated to watching the game on the large flat-screen TV and the other to a quieter conversation in an area including a queen sofa sleeper.

Stroll to the nearby beach access and all the other perks of the Bella Beach neighborhood, including parks, a children’s playground, and delicious treats at Café C’est la Vie. A brief car ride puts you at some of the finest restaurants on the Central Coast, whale watching at Depoe Bay, the Lincoln City Outlets, and the Historic Bayfront of Newport. Bring your family and friends for a happy gathering at Sunset 389 after your coastal exploration, you’ll be glad to enjoy your own beach, and watch the sun go down over the Pacific as you toast another day.

Great space, great location

It was a nice place for our girls getaway weekend. Great location and property, the crepe place up the street is fabulous.

The house was run down! It was not as pictured online. Dirty, stained carpets and couches. The carpets had not been vacuumed upon our arrival (visible papers laying on carpet) and the wood floors had crumbs all over them. Dishes in the cupboards were covered in a film of grease - had to rewash before using. Mold in shower, missing light fixture covers, mini blind wands missing and/or broken, gas fireplace wiring/components covered in dust, one bathroom ceiling exhaust fan not working, the other filled with extreme amount of dust, garbage left behind in bedroom drawers. Great location but this house needs some attention - inside and out!

Nice place

We enjoyed our stay. The cable is very limited, and the DVD players didn't work. So don't forget your tablet. Parking is minimal onsite, larger vehicles have to park around the corner.

Beautiful!

This home in Bella Beach was perfect for our needs. We'd never vacationed in this neighborhood; such a unique area. Access to the beach was clearly marked with a dedicated path/stairs. Home was huge, and we barely used the very top floor. Hot tub was clean with good jets (only use during posted hours, though). The only thing missing in the kitchen --> coffee filters, but grocery store is super close. The garage door didn't work properly and someone came out to fix it. Would recommend this rental.

New Years Eve at the beach

The house fit our group nicely. The upstairs was cozy with the fireplace and had a great view of the beach. The downstairs was a little harder to get to a comfortable temperature and ran cooler. The short walk to Bella beach was perfect for enjoying multiple trips to the beach including NYE at midnight. The only downside is the quiet hours 10pm-8am. The first night we received a noise complaint at 10:20pm. We were in bed by 10:30 so whoever called it in was being extreme as we have small kids and were well within normal noise levels. Otherwise we loved our visit and would definitely stay again.

Beautiful locale, house in need of TLC

First, the positives: The house is in a beautiful little neighborhood and the views of the ocean are gorgeous. There is plenty of room and the balcony was a great place to have coffee and watch the ocean. The hot tub was a great feature and we careful to follow the VERY strict usage rules about when we could use it. Unfortunately, the entire house feels a bit run down and in need of some work. The floors have big gaps in them that trap dirt and crumbs, the dishwasher rack was broken and kept falling, and some of the furniture had cracked upholstery that was peeling off. I can usually sleep on any bed, but ours (the smaller bedroom w/ queen bed) was not comfortable with no mattress cover and sheets that kept popping off the mattress. For the cost of the stay, an upgrade in the quality of bedding would really help. As far as cleanliness goes, I know beach houses are tough to keep clean, but it didn't look like the porches had been swept and the windows were so dirty that we couldn't really enjoy the view unless we went outside to the balcony. Overall, we had a nice time & this has the potential to be a great place...but I'm not sure we'd come back to the same house for the price.
