As you drive down the inviting driveway, you discover immediately that our retreat is situated in the middle of a private forested acre of Northern California pines and native trees on all sides. Curl up with a book in the sunroom next to the wood stove. Enjoy watching a movie and playing games in the spacious great room with a vaulted cathedral ceiling and a wood burning natural stone fireplace, cozy sectional, and chair. A warm fire, family, and friends, the privacy of the Sundance Retreat and you have the makings of the perfect vacation retreat.
But not far away from downtown
The Sundance Retreat is 1.7 miles from Historical downtown Nevada City home to the 1849 gold rush and silver mines. Art galleries, shopping, nice restaurants await you in the downtown area. There is plenty to do if you are looking for recreation: from wine tasting and spas to bicycling, nature walks and exploring a piece of California history.
A kitchen where you’ll feel at home
The open kitchen has everything you need and plenty of room to cook a family meal or for friends and families to cook together. Four barstools are set at the kitchen counter inviting friends and family to have conversation with the cook. Gather around the dining table for a big meal with 10 or more people.
A starry starry night
Step out onto the deck as it rolls into the backyard taking you closer to the trees for a tree house effect. At night, the trees point skyward where you will see the most amazing star show this area has to offer.

Snow activities are about an hour away in the Truckee/Tahoe Area, Live Theater, Fine Dining is available at Restaurants in Nevada City and Grass Valley, Museums, such as Empire Mine (10 min) and Malakoff Diggins (30 min);

Local Lakes for Waterskiing, Boating, Kayaking, Canoeing, etc. Ten minutes to Scotts Flat Lake, 45 minutes to Bullards Bar Reservoir, Englebright Dam, or Rollins Lake, about 15-20 minutes from the Yuba River, NID Hiking Trails walking distance, Bicycling, Tennis at Pioneer Park, Golfing at Alta Sierra Country Club, Great Area, Lots to Do & See.
