Owner's Map of Nevada City
It is rare when someone enters your life and you learn one of the simplist of life’s lessons as a product of that relationship. One such relationship graced our lives—and yes, it was a dog, a Golden Retriever named Sundance.
It was from Sundance that we learned about forgiveness, unconditional love, loyalty to others, how to have fun and appreciate the little things in life.
Sundance was with us for nine very short years. But, her impact lasts a lifetime.
She understood life’s simplest lessons of how to appreciate quiet time and natural settings. Her excitement was visible in seeing new things in nature, the trees, running in the open woods, resting when you needed it and taking nice walks.
When we first saw the Nevada City house that was soon to be ours, we recognized that it had all the elements that Sundance appreciated.
It was very clear that this retreat was to be named in her honor.

Comments taken from Guest Book: Great girls getaway. Enjoyed beautiful weather and hiking, chatting on the deck, exploring old town Nevada City and Grass Valley. Good dinner at Sopa Thai and 5 Mile House.

We enjoyed our stay here in your lovely cabin for my 50th Birthday. Five sisters, lots of wine, lots of giggles, and fun. We shopped Nevada City and toured the Empire Mines. The mine tour was very informative. The views here are lovely!

What a fabulous weekend at your beautiful retreat! Lots of shopping, trekking, and sightseeing in quaint Nevada City/Grass Valley area. Outstanding theater -- "To Kill a Mockingbird" with your incredibly gifted local talen. Topped it off with a Giant's first win against Phillies! Thank you so much, would love to come back.

We had a blast! Ike's Cafe was a great breakfast spot. The bed on the first floor with the added room was almost as comfortable as home...we could have slept for days. Very peaceful! Overall, it was exactly the weekend we needed! Thank you for this place.

And they say that there is no such thing as fun for the whole family! Everyone had a blast here, the view was marvelous, especially from the deck. Our stay seemed far too short. We wish we could have stayed longer. The house was perfect! We will all have to come back again next summer.
