Welcome to Joshua Tree, a desert community of rugged mountains, playful granite piles, magically quiet nights, peace and solitude and all the rock climbing, picture taking and sightseeing you yearn for in your travels here.
You can relax on the studio patio and take in the wondrous panorama of the skyline of Joshua Tree National Park. Just recharge and enjoy nature’s gift of wildlife and wild scenery. Enjoy the constant chatter of our cactus wrens, whose nest is a few feet from the patio or the family of quail who roost overnight in the yucca not far from your door. Perhaps a coyote will sing you a song. This is our desert music, a concert that welcomes you.
The studio is furnished for two, but additional guests are welcome for no extra charge. Talk to Piper to make arrangements. A comfortable bed, sparkling clean rooms, a kitchenette with a microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, frying pan and a variety of pots and pans, utensils and spices which should make anyone who enjoys cooking happy.
The porch sports a gas BBQ and affords privacy, comfort and incredible views of the park. When you’re ready for that walk the hiking trailis an easy 5 minute walk away. The Joshua Tree Highlands, where our studio is located ,is a series of sandy roads, seldom traveled, where we all take advantage of our special surroundings with an evening walk.
If your sights are more ambitious we can provide you with horseback riding, rock climbing and biking, guided by local professionals. Or, you could travel into the park and visit the Wonderland or Parker dam or hike through any of a thousand granite valleys.
We are blessed with several super music festivals and Pappy and Harriet’s in Pioneer town offering a great music venue. With spiritual retreats and yoga centers, with alternative health care, with fine health food stores, for such a tiny spot you’re sure to find something exciting to do. Enjoy your stay and come back.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2005
Piper and her dog Ivy, she is a gardener, rockhound, has a hound and loves the desert.
Why the Owner Chose Joshua Tree
I once had a bed and breakfast in Hawaii and when building this home could not resist but to put in a small vacation rental studio that would be charming and affordable to adventurous travelers.
The Unique Benefits of this Studio
It is so quiet here, there are only the sound of birds and coyote choirs. Wildlife is abundant, and happy. The starry nights are vivid, partly because of low light pollution and the lack of humidity in the atmosphere. The milky way is velvety and bright here.

we wanted a small, non-descript hideaway, close to the park, warm and welcoming. Piper is sweet, trustworthy and follows through on everything - and we never even met in person! i would not only highly recommend her place, i would return again and again. great views from the place, easy 5 minute drive to the park, coffee provided... :) and a nice little place to relax and decompress. plus, our dog Gunner loved discovering cacti!

A friend and I wanted a quiet weekend to take photos and relax. Watching a winter storm from the porch, stargazing at night, and lazy walks around a rustic maze of unique views around the neighborhood were a great way to spend the weekend. Piper is kind and accommodating; this space is a cozy little gem, super clean and equipped with friendly basics.

A quiet location that is very close to parks entrance. Clean small studio with a very accommodating pleasant owner. Note that the studio has a fridge and outdoor gas grill but no stove. We would recommend this property to those who only need the basics.

I can tell you Piper pays great attention to detail and will make sure all your needs are met and will treat you fairly. She is honest and hospitable and runs a great business. I even stayed at their establishment in Hilo, HI many years ago and was treated wonderful there too, so I can say with confidence that you will love this little gem of a vacation retreat! The perfect little resting spot!
