Built in 2009, this 2167 square feet, 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath new log home with 2 covered decks, a spacious screened porch and a two-car garage is located near Brevard/Rosman, NC, in Transylvania County, NC the “Land of Waterfalls”. If you want to enjoy gourmet dining, shopping, tubing, rafting, fly-fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking, golf, tennis, horseback riding, visiting beautiful Hendersonville and Asheville, NC and the Biltmore House and/or sightseeing along the famous Blue Ridge Parkway or Pisgah National Forest, most are within a 30-minute drive of our wonderful Cabin in the Trees and all are within about an hour’s drive.
If you just want to hang out and don’t want to get back in the car. No problem - There’s no better place to hang. Sit and relax in one of the locally crafted rocking chairs on the porch or pull up a recliner and lounge on the back deck from sun up to sun down breaking only for snacks, lunch and a nap by the fire. Year Round Views are plentiful with Hogback Mountain (aka Toxaway Lake Mountain) on the western horizon, always fun to watch as weather changes and it disappears and reappears through the mist following a dramatic summer shower. Brilliant sunsets after a storm can be breath-taking. Every sunset is different. Listening to the summer insect orchestra is entertaining as well.
Or load your backpack with snacks and your favorite beverage, walk out the front door and hike for about an hour to the top of Joshua Summit. Look for deer and locally famous “White Squirrels” along the way. The panoramic view of the Brevard area and surrounding mountains is breathtaking.
A short hike from Joshua Road and down Line Runner Ridge Road, turn right on Highway 178 (aka Pickens Highway) for 1/2 mile will lead you to Mountain View and one of Transylvania’s most arresting waterfalls. It is privately-owned but the owners welcome guests. In case anyone’s home, you might want to let them know you’re there.
If you’re into tubing, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, camping and/or fly fishing, we’ve found the friendly people at Headwaters Outfitters to be very helpful. They offer fly fishing lessons and guided floats (or up) the French Broad River (which flows the wrong way.) Their friendly staff has always been glad to answer any questions about the area you might have. They can even take you on a float to Brevard or Asheville.
For a sample menu for dining in Brevard (about a 20 minute-drive), we recommend you visit the Hobknob Restaurant on West Main Street, the Square Root, and/or the Falls Landing Restaurant. We have had good meals at all of them. Dress is informal.
After your meal, browse the streets of Brevard. You will find unique shops of almost any kind imaginable. Art Galleries are all over for some of the finest pottery and local artwork.
For the not so young but still young at heart with maybe a grandchild or two, be sure to browse OP Taylors Toy Store on the corner of Broad and Main Streets.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
We always venture into Brevard for shopping or dining. Great meals at Hobknob, The Square Root, Marco Trattoria, Poppies. Menus and Info are all in our Cabin Guide/Book. We usually try to check out a waterfall and a hike. They are plentiful in the area. Also, one of the owners is an avid triathlete. He can give tips on the road biking, mountain biking and trail running in the area. We have road biking maps available at the cabin as well.

Christmas at "Cabin in the Trees"

My family and I spent the week thru Christmas at the Cabin in the Trees and had the best time. When we got there the cabin was decorted for the holiday and that was a extra bonus we didn't expect. It was the perfect place for our group with plenty of room for everyone even if you needed a moment to yourself. Very comfortable with all the aminities. We cooked Christmas dinner for 6 and had everything we needed. It's just 20 minuets to Brevard and some great resturants and shops and only 1 hr to Hendersonville and Ashville. We hope to someday get to come back.

Spent a week in Mid December. Perfect getaway....Very comfortable, new, with all the comforts of home. Beautiful Sunsets overlooking the mountains all with Wifi and Direct TV (if ya want it). Cabin is a easy 20 minute drive to Brevard. Great place to base for daily hikes to all the local waterfalls. Great experience....we will be back.
Owner response:Steve - Thank you for the nice review - We appreciate and we hope to have your visit again. Happiest of holidays to you and your family!

This house provided the perfect space for our married children to spread out and have their own space. The extra bathroom was essential. We found the house to be clean and had every amenity we were expecting. The detached garage was a bonus, and we were able to set up our dog crates in there since the weather was so temperate. Only down side to this location was the distance from Asheville. It was quite a ride to get to some of the restaurants and to do some of the activities we had planned. It is a great place to really get away, particularly if you want to stay in the immediate area.

My friends and I could not have been happier with the cabin. We recently attended a wedding in Brevard and came across this cabin on the vrbo website. Anna was amazing in making sure we had everything we needed, The cabin was beautuiful, clean, and had everything we could ever need plus more. Our only regret was that we were so busy with the other festivities that we did ot have enough time to just enjoy the cabin. We have all decided to make it a tradition and rent the cabin once a year and all meet there, It was spacious, warm and inviting. Boomer was a great greeter and was really just the cherry on the sunday. I would and have already recommended this cabin to many people. I would like to give a great big thank you to the owners for being so friendly and helpful, you helped make our vacation strees free and relaxing. We will definatley be returning!

Great jumping off point for the "land of waterfalls". Plenty of hikes and waterfalls within a short drive. Within 15 mins to multiple grocery stores. We had the best time at this cabin. Accommodations were comfortable and spacious. Perfect for families. Multiple living areas were great for kids since they go to bed early, the rest could stay up and not feel like we were being too loud. Also, kids wake up earlier than everyone else so there was somewhere for them to go without waking those that sleep in! Kitchen was stocked which made cooking for a large group (7 adults) really easy. AND the garden outside was fantastic! We got to enjoy delicious vine-ripened tomatoes everyday. Also, cucumbers! And plenty of herbs for cooking. The second we got there, we were planning our next trip!
Owner response:So glad you enjoyed the cabin and the garden. Thank you so much!

This is my second stay and it was just as nice as the first time. It's the perfect spot to get away from it all without actually doing it! Your never too far from anything and there's always something to do. We went tubing, hiking, waterfall hunting, shopping, and the list goes on. But the activities don't have to stop there because when you get back to the cabin there are games, wi-fi, decks to lounge on, and most importantly beds that are comfortable. After a long day of hiking a shower, a meal, and some relaxation is the perfect menu! Come visit the "Cabin in the Trees" - you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful, modern home. Perfect for large family or 2 families. Many rooms for sleeping and downstairs kitchenette and entertainment room was great. Far upstairs room was great for our infant as she went to bed earlier while everyone else was enjoying the downstairs areas.. Beautiful views, quiet, and private. Home has nearly everything you would need. A Hot Tub would be the only thing I could recommend as it would be nice after a long day of hiking or biking nearby trails. Excellent experience from beginning to end with the owner. We would return for another visit.

Our stay was quiet...just the way we like it. Other great things we liked: - the wifi worked in all parts of the house with no interruptions - large wraparound deck - walks along the gravel road - attentive owners who answered the phone when we had a question - felt like home - dart board - lower living area - garage to park our cars
