Azalea Mountain Cabin was built in 1900 and renovated from top to bottom in 2001. The cozy cabin is on an acre of grassy, partially wooded property. There is an outdoor picnic table, a large front porch and a spacious rear deck with a hot tub. Both areas have outdoor furniture. The cabin has an outdoor fire area as well as an indoor fireplace. There is a full kitchen amd laundry room. Dishes, pans, linens and most everything else is provided for your comfort.
One bedroom has a queen bed while the other has a bunk set-up with a twin over a full size futon. the living room is also a full size futon. Both futons have inner spring matreses.
This is an in-town location giving quick access to all Asheville has to offer plus the serenity and privacy of being in the country.
Asheville is a year-round community which offers lots of activities for the whole family. We are pet-friendly, though we do charge $8.00 per pet/day; this helps defray the costs associated with maintaining our cabin in like new condition while allowing you to have your pet on vacation.
Please call or e-mail to check that we can accommodate your time schedule.

I've placed a hard cover guest book in my cabin about a year ago so I would have a nice record of all my wonderful guests. For this reason there have been no recent entries. Bert

we had a very pleasant, very relaxing five days at the very lovely azalea mountain cabin. not only is the place in a great location, it's also extraordinarily homey & comfortable. while we most liked the modern amenities (the hot tub, the fully updated kitchen) in an authetically rustic setting, mabel - the plott hound - liked the wild rabbits & the near-by french broad dog park best. AND, as the previous renters have mentioned, bert is BEYOND WONDERFUL to work with; case in point: we left some clothes in the dryer at the cabin and were met when we got home with an e-mail from bert asking about our address so that he could FedEx our belongings! we will definitely stay at the azalea the next time we're in asheville. thanks, bert! ...also, on an unrelated note: after spending the majority of our time in asheville lounging on the futon while watching indie films & british comedies, we HIGHLY recommend orbit DVD in west asheville. just don't forget to bring your own DVD player!

We enjoyed our stay at Azalea Mountain Cabin. Mr. Gaines was very easy to work with. Cabin is convenient and rates are very reasonable. We will most certainly stay again in the future!

We had a great time at the cabin. A very nice change from the usual hotel room. It was quiet and very relaxing but still close enough to town for everything we wanted to do.

This cabin was fabulous! It was well-equipped, very clean, and a fun place for a family with two children to stay. It was also an excellent value and in a nice location. We truly enjoyed our stay in Asheville because of the nice change from your typical hotel room. The owner was easy to work with, and we thank you for a great place to stay!

What a wonderful cabin this is!!!! It was just minutes to everything we had planned to do during our time in Asheville yet when we were ready to relax at the cabin we had peace and seclusion. My family and I can't say enough good things about the cabin. The kids loved the fire ring and we even made smores and had a wonderful evening. My yorkie and I enjoyed our morning and afternoon walks around the cabin and even had company in the form of a cute brown bunny. Thanks again for allowing us to stay there during our trip.
