Life is good at the beach, and even better if you choose 201I Tidewater for your next Vacation on the Island. 201 I Tidewater is ideally located in Wild Dunes Resort, and features views of the beautiful swimming pool adjacent to the property and oceanfront views. These views of the ocean are enhanced by the fact that this wonderful condominium features a large screen porch. The screen porch is truly unique and is not often found in such a perfect setting. Even when you are inside of 201 I Tidewater you and your family have views of the Atlantic from almost every room. Being an end unit, the master bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining area and even the foyer have views of the ocean.
Once you arrive on the beach, you will find it one of the most desirable stretches of beach in the Resort. An offshore sandbar allows the sea in front of Tidewater to take to different forms based on the tide. At high tide it is the perfect spot for your children to ride the waves as they break along the sand bar approaching the shore. At low tide, the sandbar serves as a natural break, making the sea calm and shallow, perfect for younger children to play and hunt sand dollars. Life is good at the beach in Tidewater.
The property owners of 201 I Tidewater have worked hard to make it one of the most comfortable and beautiful accommodations on the Island. They spent most of the winter (2011) completely renovating their home. The living room now features all new furniture that is stylish and comfortable. In addition to the new furnishings, the property owners have added the latest in electronics, new area rugs and a wonderful flat screen television.
The kitchen has been renovated as well, and features granite counter tops, all new cabinetry and stainless steel appliances. Located at the end of the building, both the kitchen and living area have a lot of light, typically not found in most homes. 201 I Tidewater features two beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with a private bath. The Master Bedroom was enhanced with new bedding, furniture and a flat screen television. It features a queen bed and has direct access to the screen porch. The guest bedroom was also greatly improved with all new bedding, furniture and wonderful colors. The guest bedroom includes two twin beds as well as a flat screen television.
Finally, 201 I Tidewater is located in Wild Dunes Resort. A private Resort of 1600 acres, Wild Dunes features six restaurants, the Sand and Sea Spa, 17 Har-Tru tennis courts that is ranked in Tennis Magazine Top 10 Tennis Resorts, The Wild Dunes Links golf course and Harbor golf course, which Golf Digest consider among the “Best in the State”, Island Adventures recreation programs for children and families, and two miles of bike trails. 201 I Tidewater features the Wild Dunes Sportscard, which will allow the guest enjoying this beautiful home to access many of the Wild Dunes Private Club amenities such as the Wild Dunes Tennis Center, Wild Dunes Fitness Center, and the Wild Dunes Lap Pool. Similar to daily green fees to play golf, many of the Wild Dunes Club amenities require a daily fee to access.

This condo is well located. A short walk to the beach and even shorter to the pool. It is an oddly layed out condo with a large walk in space that has no furnishings and is used simply as a walk thru. The kitchen is dated with cabinetry coming away from the walls. They've had some water damage, as the "popcorn" ceiling has peeled away. The mattress in the master bedroom is uncomfortable and worn out. The balcony offers an excellant view of the ocean. The resort itself offers a lot of options from tennis & golf to magic shows and music. I think this unit would be fine for a group of golfers just looking for a place to sleep, but I don't think we would stay at this condo again. We'd certainly consider staying at this resort again. If you like history a trip to Fort Sumter, Fort Moultrie, and the USS Yorktown are well worth it.Owner response: I do appreciate your response and review and have been feverishly working for 3 months now to completely renovate the entire interior of this Tidewater condo. New kitchen including granite countertops, tile backsplash, and tile flooring. Living room, tile flooring, and flat screen television. Master bathroom is all new with granite counter tops, and tile shower. The bathtub was removed, so it is a large shower. The guest bathroom is also tile now, but it does have a traditional bathtub. The property was also painted. Again, I do appreciate your review and hope you will come back to see the improvements.

This condo is located at the end of a U-shaped building and faces the beach on all three sides. The oceanviews from all rooms are terrific. From the screened porch (in the back) you can see both the pool and the beach. We loved this! We could keep an eye on our kids wherever they were from the comfort of our porch (with four very comfortable chairs with ottoman). The layout of the condo works very well for a family of four. The wide hallway in the middle is a great place to leave your beachtowels, coolers, etc. The rooms are on the left and right. We left our pool and beach toys outside the front door at the front porch. Furniture was good, towels and sheets were very nice, bathrooms were clean. Kitchen itself is a little dated but this is compensated with new stainless steel appliances (stove, dishwasher, fridge). Nice toaster, kettle and coffee maker worked well too. Dining table area is surrounded by windows on three sides, two of which face the ocean. Wonderful ambiance. Internet worked well every day. No cell phone coverage for us inside the condo (AT&T) but that made it a true vacation :) Many people walk outside to the parking lot or road (golf course) to talk on cell phones. Beach is right outside the front door and not crowded, not even on a holiday weekend (July 4). We would leave all our chairs, towels, etc on the beach for the entire day and just go back and forth. Very safe, family-oriented beach area. For restaurants, go to Shem Creek on Sullivan's Island or into Charleston itself. For grocery stores, go to BiLo or Piggly Wiggly at the Connector & 17. We also enjoyed the Whirling Waters waterpark in North Charleston (half price on Tuesdays). We will definitely be back! I would highly recommend this condo. Good value for price.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
