"My husband surprised me with a night away to this wonderful cabin. We loved the sound and beauty of the creek, watching the ducks, checking out the fish in the pond, the hot tub, hammick and trails on this beautiful 11 acres. We even picked strawberries from the garden which were delicious! The cabin was really cute, romantic, and accommodating. We plan to return."

"I booked this house because of the view from the great room and was not disappointed. It is as spectacular as the VRBO photos. I knew the weather would be iffy end of October but was looking for a place to relax and recharge from work. This house is perfect for that. I settled into a glider on the side porch with my coffee and Kindle and had such lovely mornings listening to the rain. (Did have some good weather also) It truly is a home away from home. It is large and graciously appointed, but not stuffy. Everything from the comfortable leather sofas and fireplace in the great room to the large and well stocked kitchen invite you to settle in and enjoy your stay. All the reviews I read mention how clean the house was. I too want to say how amazed I was at how clean everything in every room was..... especially the baths. If I hadn't known better I would have thought it was brand new construction. I also want to comment on what I call 'first fruits'. The owners have lavished their guests with the same quality appointments some might reserve for themselves. The quality of the thick luxurious towels, silky soft sheets and blankets were all top notch. As a person who loves to cook, I was impressed by the beautiful, heavy gauge cookware in the kitchen. I also want to compliment the owner's attention to providing everything one needs to have a successful stay. There were excellent instructions provided for using the TVs and entertainment equipment. There were DVDs and an excellent selection of books on site. The owner also provided excellent info on grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurant selections. (all really close to the house) I followed three of her restaurant suggestions and all were a hit. She also provided excellent info regarding directions to the house, hiking trails, and local attractions. Everything that could possibly be provided for my stay to be successful was thought of and provided without my asking. I would love to return in late spring to see the rhododendrons in bloom on the Parkway and enjoy hiking and time on the deck but the house is also a perfect spot out of season to read, rest, and catch the World Series on the big screen. Thanks for a lovely week away!"

"Where do I begin? This place was amazing! Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and just 30 minutes from downtown Asheville, this is the place for you if you're looking for a quiet retreat. The pictures online don't even compare to the real experience. Even in winter it's gorgeous!! Upon entering the cottage, you're immediately entranced by its welcoming warmth and vibe. With a quick glance around, you'll find local honey, coffee, handmade soap, and goodies in the fridge (eggs, corn meal, and the most tasty jam you've ever had!) This place has it all... gas fireplace, cedar soak tub, grill, adorable decor, and so very clean!!! I'm seriously OCD about cleanliness and was pleased as punch with this place. While sitting on the patio you can hear the creek running past the cottage and birds chirping away. So cozy!! You can tell a lot of thought and love went into the making of this cabin. Dawn and Stephen were so accommodating and kind. We happened upon Stephen one day when we were exploring the farm, as he was shelling some heirloom corn in an old crank from the late 1800s. We couldn't help but ask all kinds of questions and he wasn't the least bit bothered by our incessant questioning. We loved walking around visiting the farm animals and Sam, a Great Pyrenees, was such a friendly companion. The farm store was a great way for us to buy some items to take back with us. Local items are for sale (pottery, soap) as well as more honey (we had to have more!), eggs, and frozen meats. We drove to Asheville for dinner one evening, but really didn't want to leave the cottage. As we were leaving it started to snow and we both felt a little sadness as the cottage and farm disappeared from our rear view mirror. I'm not a huge fan of vacationing in the same spot twice, but I would love to return here again one day!!!"
