"The Nottely River cabin was clean, well-stocked and comfortable. We loved the back porch; once we filled the hummingbird feeders, those little winged jewels were constant visitors. We saw kingfishers, ducks and even an otter; what a thrill. Murphy, the nearby town, is pleasant and inviting. Don't miss the Red Brick Deli - wonderful food and the best key lime pie ever! The exciting Nantahala Gorge, with a variety of activities to enjoy, and the John C. Campbell Folk Arts School, are nearby. History buffs, check out the old cemetery in Hanging Dog; some grave markers go back to the Civil War days. All in all, a marvelous, restful, healing visit. I can't wait to come back."

"This was a wonderful cabin. My fiancé and I loved it so much that we didn't leave the cabin to explore the area until around noon each day. The peacefulness, the comfortable surroundings, and the decor of the cabin with the comfort of the furniture made it possible to relax and enjoy our vacation. The very informative guide that you provided made it easier to locate areas that we had been to before. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to do other things we wanted to do. Loved, loved , loved this cabin. Thank you for sharing it with us!!!!"

"My husband and I drove up from the coast for the weekend for a change of scenery and cooler weather. We were drawn to this home because of the hot tub offered at the clubhouse, the indoor and outdoor fireplaces at the home, screened in porch, spa tub in the master and the newer style of the home.
It is a beautiful home - great design with all the fancy touches including state-of-the-art kitchen and baths. It is also a very comfortable home with great spaces.
There were some disappointing parts. The ice maker was off when we got there and it appeared it was leaking into the inside of the freezer. The manager seemed put out when we asked for help, and told us we could go over to the clubhouse to get ice if we needed it. The home is in an isolated area with the nearest gas station or grocery a half hour away by car so we got our ice for the weekend from the clubhouse. The spa tub was also broken and would not bubble. Firewood is provided but was wet due to recent rains so using the fireplace was out. The master bedroom also had an odd unidentifiable smell. Last of all, the television has only seven channels, including the major networks, PBS and weather. If you want to watch anything at all, bring your own Roku, movies or iPad converter.
This home would be a wonderful retreat to the mountains but the management team does not seem to care for it very well. It definitely needs a little TLC, if only to make sure things are working before a guest checks in. The rental rate is too high for things not to work properly and the manager to be indifferent to concerns."
