Fantastic house and hosts
We had a wonderful stay at the log home in Connestee. Don and Ingrid were wonderful hosts, meeting us at the gate to show us the way and to give us our welcome packet. Don even took us to where they keep the canoe on the lake and showed us how to access it along with paddles and life jackets. Which we did! Stayed here with 3 other adults and 3 children ages 3-9. Plenty of room for all of us and then some! The house was well stocked with everything we could need or want. The back porch was huge and the perfect place for grilling out and having a glass of wine or morning cup of coffee:)
We loved our stay and would definitely come back.
Beautiful, Accommodating, and Relaxing
Our family of four joined with our dear friends (family of five) to escape to this beautiful log cabin for a five night stay. Prior to arrival, we were provided with all the information we would need to begin our vacation, ensure that we found all the best restaurants/attractions, and had access to available activities. The cabin is located in a gorgeous gated community and Don met us at the gate upon arrival. He and Ingrid took time out of their personal lives to show us where to find what we needed within the house and within the community. To say they are accommodating is an understatement! The community and surrounding area is absolutely stunning. Within the community there are so many activities to choose from-pickelball, bocce ball, golf, tennis, hiking, canoeing, fishing, basketball, swimming, etc. We had easy access to all of this as well as Don and Ingrid's equipment such as a canoe and kayaks. While you won't even have to leave the community to find plenty to see and do, the surrounding area and town of Brevard are well worth visiting. We visited two areas to hike and view waterfalls (Triple Falls, Sliding Rock) which are a quick drive from the cabin. The falls are stunning and the hiking trails are all well marked. There are plenty of trails (several options for difficulty level), scenery, and a beautiful waterfall within the community as well, so you don't even need to travel outside the community. The city of Brevard is full of eclectic shops and restaurants and is a great place to just walk around aimlessly. Everyone in Brevard seems so kind and friendly! The cabin itself is stunning. There are plenty of bedrooms, beds, and sleeping options. Our party of nine (5 kids under the age of 10!) fit comfortably. The children had plenty of space to play, sleep, eat, and hang out. The library was a big hit and the kids thought it was cool to have some space to themselves without the grown ups. Ingrid even left some sidewalk chalk for them to decorate the driveway! The cabin is impeccably clean, beautifully furnished, and organized; the owners provide you with a multitude of items you may need during your stay. The outside decks and seating areas provide the most peaceful views. We have stayed in several VRBO rentals and have loved them all, however, this is a special rental. We have never been treated with such kindness and generosity from property owners as we were by Don and Ingrid. We will definitely return again!
Dion, his family and their friends are delightful. Ingrid and I enjoyed meeting them and giving them advice on how to enjoy our Log Home, Connestee Falls trails and sporting facilities, as well as this beautiful part of western North Carolina...... to ensure that they would have a truly wonderful holiday. When we returned to the Log Home, we found it in immaculate condition....... and a THANK YOU bottle of good red wine from Dion, family and friends. They are special guests and are welcome back to the Log Home at any time.
The home was perfectly located for our holiday plans. Brevard is a lovely old town which has become trendy for the current times, enjoyable for all. It was an hour's drive to Asheville or an hour's drive to skiing or snow tubing. The home was lovely and well maintained with all we needed. There was even a beautiful waterfall within the Conestee community with hiking trails leading to it. Our hosts were very welcoming, even leaving chocolates on the pillows. My family had a great time!
This family was a delight to communicate with to ensure that they would enjoy their stay at our Log Home, as well as enjoy all that Connestee Falls and surrounds has to offer. They left the Log Home in perfect condition. They are welcome back anytime!!
Great Thanksgiving vacation spot for two families. Wonderful location to meet and enjoy the beautiful area. Home was very clean and well-maintained. Great hiking in the neighborhood. Owners very kind and available to help with suggestions and any questions.
The Log Home and Connestee Falls are located in the heart of the southern Appalachian Mountains, 8 miles from the delightful town of Brevard, with its restaurants and music; 40 miles south of the trendy town of Asheville home of the famous Biltmore House and Estate, and the micro brewery capital of the south, 30 miles from Hendersonville with its restaurants and theaters. And thousands of square miles of magnificent forests, with their waterfalls, and hiking trails. Within easy reach is the Blue Ridge Parkway and The Great Smoky Mountain National Park
