About this property
Cabin near BR/Boone, fire pit, WIFI, secluded, nearby hikes, and VIEWS!!
Hi! We're A&B Mountain Properties (Alison and Brad)!! Our cabin is about 12 minutes west of Main Street BR, COZY, and has amazing layered mountain views all year. We love our family business and there are no chores at check-out, so you can relax!
Our home is also close to Westglow, less than 5 minutes to the BRP/Price Lake/Moses Cone, and .3 mile to the Asutsi trailhead which connects you to ALL east side trails of Grandfather Mountain and is the only access point for these trails in winter.
Mountain Flower Hideaway is a dream come true in every sense! It is a beautiful, amenity-rich cabin that provides guests both seclusion and a fabulous location minutes to Blowing Rock, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone and all of the treasures of the High Country. The seasonal long-range views are stunning, the daily sunrise is awe-inspiring, and the property boasts ample parking for guests and tons of outdoor space for stargazing, mountain storm watching, fires in the fire pit, grilling, yard games, and walks through the property's unique rhododendron tunnel. The inside is no less impressive. The main floor is comprised of a master bedroom with a queen bed and en-suite half bath (and washer and dryer). The master bedroom has two large closets, an armoire, and plenty of room and natural light for relaxation. The full bath (with tub and shower) is also located on the main level. The kitchen is a cook's dream! It is well-appointed with anything that guests could need and is pleasing to the eye with granite countertops, soft-close drawers, and stainless steel appliances. The dining area and living room are also located on the main floor. There are books throughout the house, as well as games, along with a flat screen TV for guest entertainment. The stone gas log fireplace that anchors these two living spaces is a beautiful feature for guests visiting on cold mountain nights. The upper level is comprised of two lovely bedrooms, one with a full bed and one with a queen bed. Both bedrooms have ample closet and dresser space. There is also a half bathroom upstairs as well. The cabin has been lovingly cared for and decorated. Guests will be delighted with the art, books, games, and personal touches that are located throughout the home.

For guests without this type of vehicle, parking is available on a lower part of the property, but additional walking to the front door of the house will be involved. We are not responsible for damage that occurs to guest vehicles or other property.***

The cabin was clean and cozy and even decorated for Christmas. The owners were easy to communicate with and even came by and shoveled the driveway when it snowed while we were there. I highly recommend this place for the cleanliness and a good location to lots of things to do nearby.
My family did a quick weekend trip and we were very happy with this cabin. The owners have every detail covered and are responsive. The beds were comfortable and it was very clean.
Everything was exactly as the listing said it would be. My kids loved being able to explore the surrounding area (woods). The check out process was the easiest I have ever had in a VRBO which made it nice for people like us with kids. Absolutely would stay here again.
5 stars to Alison and Brad - communication was easy and cabin was clean and cozy with everything we needed for a 6 night stay. Location was excellent, short drive to Blowing Rock and best of all a 10 minute walk gets you on some great walking trails. Will be staying again. Thank you!
We had a wonderful time spending the weekend in this home. The view allows you to catch the sunrise each morning. It is far enough from town that you can enjoy the stars while sitting by the fire. The living room is very comfortable and perfect for relaxing and reading a book.
This is our 2nd annual trip to the mountains and this house has been perfect for us. My kids explore the surrounding area and we get peace and quiet. Alison, the owner, is precious and so communicative with her renters. We love it and will be back again next year for our 3rd annual trip.
My wife and I recently stayed at this cabin and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were exactly what we were looking for and we really enjoyed the amazing views . The owner was very cooperative and the little touches provided definitely were appreciated.
We will be coming back soon.

Thanks for being such excellent guests! We look forward to hosting you for many years to come.
This was one of our best vacations EVER! The cabin was clean and in a great location to all the best site seeing and hikes. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need for homecooked meals and grilling out. Allison & Brad even treated us to smores and wood for the campfire. Great hosts that made our trip amazing! Can't wait to visit again.
We had a great time staying at the cabin with our kids! The cabin was clean and had all the amenities we needed. It was cozy but still had plenty of space for all of us. Our kids' favorite part was exploring in and around the rhododendrons on the property. The location felt secluded but was right off the highway and close to many fun locations. It also was a great value for the price. Thank you!
This cabin is darling with a beautiful view and privacy. The cabin is well stocked. Children loved exploring the “tunnels” of foliage. Fire pit was perfect for s’mores. No internet, so be aware. Look foreword to staying here again.

Thank you for your kind review and for being such great guests! You are right that there is no Wi-Fi (as the listing notes), but as soon as it is available at the cabin, we will be adding it. Hope to see you again soon.
Very nice visit. Very close to Grandfather Mountain which was our main reason for visiting. Very secluded. Everything was well stocked. The only place I have ever stayed where I just walked out the door without having to lift a finger. Loved it. Thank you

Sarah - thanks to you and your family for being such lovely guests and for leaving such a kind review. We like to think that we really help our guests relax by providing speedy service, more than basic amenities, and not asking guests to do any "chores" at check-out. Hope to see y'all again.
Loved our stay at Alison and Brads cabin! Perfecto location close to Blowing Rock and our relatives that we were visiting. Directions were perfect and we loved sitting on the deck with coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. Cabin was spotless and essentials were there for coffee and breakfast the first day if you had no time to shop for groceries for your stay before checking in the first day. Alison was quick to respond to questions as well. We will be staying here again for sure!

We came for the fall color and were not disappointed by the view or it's proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The fully equipped kitchen allowed cooking in. The hosts were easily available by text/phone and very helpful. Comfortable beds and bathrooms with a fireplace. All things we desired in a mountain cabin. Our car handled the driveway fine and we could easily turn around.
We loved the cozy cabin in the woods! Wish we couod have stayed longer. The hosts are generous with supplies like TP, plastic bags and even s'mores!! Plus, everthing is comfortable from the beds to the couches and chairs to the climate control in the cabin. Will say, it is very easy to miss as the drive and entrance are not well marked or lit. But great views once you acsend the drive and stand out on the porch!!
We wanted to celebrate my fiancée's bday by visiting differnt breweries in and around boone. This house was the cutest, cleanest, quiest lil spot of heaven we could have reserved.
No wifi? No problem for us. We are both 28yrs young and enjoyed being unplugged. It also helps being only 15/20mins from shops and restaurants. We will definitely keep this location in our hearts for future visits.
The cabin was very pleasant for our family of five. Our boys enjoyed having the upstairs space, and the upstairs half-bath was convenient for their use. All of the beds were comfortable with nice linens, and the washcloths/towels were plentiful. We were glad to find the kitchen was well-stocked for our purposes, as we typically cook a few simple meals at home while we travel. The lack of wifi was not a problem for us at all; it was nice to accept the invitation to unplug, and we still had cell service if we needed it. We enjoyed the sunrises each morning and the fire pit every evening! Such a pleasant, quiet, peaceful cabin!
Our jobs can be quite stressful and we needed a secluded cabin to ‘shut down’ relax, hear and see nature! The mountain air was fresh and cool! Good location, amazing sunrises, nice landscaping, with a fire pit. The cabin is within a 15 min. drive to Blowing Rock. This town is perfect for great restaurants and shopping. Boone is a short drive from Blowing Rock
We met Brad, the owner, who is very nice and helpful telling us about hiking trails. We loved visiting the Moses Cone estate and its wide and smooth hiking trails. Brad’s wife, Allison, always communicated back to us in a timely manner. This is another VRBO favorite of ours and we highly recommend it. We have already made reservations for Oct.!

Thank you for this wonderful review. It is very fulfilling to us to help folks relax in these beautiful mountains and y'all were a delight to host. We'll see you soon! A & B
Great location as we were close to Blowing Rock and Boone and all the glory the Blue Ridge Mountains have to give ! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck surrounded by foliage wild flowers and the mountains in the distance. In the evening we enjoyed our night cap while listening to blue grass. I loved watching the little chip monks running about and even saw a humming bird ! Beds were very comfy, kitchen was stocked with all the cooking essentials one could ask for, plenty of counter space for food prep. Only one minor criticism was the lack of AC in the upstairs front bedroom. There were no blinds and the window fan did little to cool the room during a hot spell . I realize a window unit would spoil the quaint chalet look of the cabin, so maybe install a ceiling fan and drapes ? I will for certain return next year ! Post Note. We had perfect cell reception and lap top reception All electronics worked fine despite the funny NO WIFI sign !

We are SO glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back to our home. Regarding the front bedroom, there are drapes, the window fan (meant to pull warm air out of the house), and an additional oscillating fan in the closet - but we know it was unseasonably warm during your stay. We are exploring our cooling options to make that bedroom as comfortable as the rest of the home.
About the host
Hosted by Brad and Alison Gates
We are Brad and Alison! We live in Blowing Rock, are active in our community, are proud parents of a little boy and two old dogs, and we love hosting folks at our cabins. When it comes to cabins, we do it all and we're awfully proud of it - renovation, cleaning, maintenance, guest management, and every other aspect that makes staying with us a special experience. We are detail-oriented and living our own dream - y'all come see us!
Why they chose this property
This property is just a dream! It is a cabin plucked straight from a storybook setting, complete with gorgeous grounds and warm, inviting rooms. The views will enchant you and there is nothing like watching a rainstorm or heavy snowfall from the many windows throughout the home. The cabin is well-suited for adult travelers or families with children. There is plenty of space to spread out in this cabin, three large bedrooms, and wonderful kitchen, living, and dining spaces for cooking and making merry. We love how close this gem is to Grandfather Mountain, the Asutsi trail (which will get you anywhere on the east side of Grandfather in ALL seasons), Bass Lake, Price Lake, and many other treasures along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
What makes this property unique
Because we live only minutes away and on a full-time basis, we are able to assist guests quickly with any issue or question that might arise. We also have NO chores for you at check-out :) This is a benefit that most rentals cannot offer because they are managed by property rental companies or out-of-town owners rather than local individuals. We are also proud to offer personalized advice to travelers about local attractions and events, hikes, and activities suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
