Welcome to the Ripke Retreat! We are located in the center of all South Lake Tahoe venues! Minutes from the stateline casinos, walking distance to the Ski Run Marina, beaches, bike trails and hiking. A Safeway market and the Bijou Golf Course are just three blocks west of our updated condo.

August and September dates are booking fast. Please email your booking request as early as possible to secure the dates you want.

Experience accommodations that look and FEEL like Tahoe! Stunning golden pine cabinetry highlighted by mountain green trim. Just completed is our updated mid-bath shower and all-new pine interior doors. We opened up our entire kitchen space by removing the dining room wall. New granite countertops with all the appliances you need. We've also thought of "extra conveniences" like a Kuereg coffee maker, waffle iron, crock pot, toaster oven, coffee grinder, blender, extra coat racks, framed cable TV guides, programmable hotel safe, "Limelite" nite lights, and a high chair for our smaller guests. Pull out living room queen sleeper sofa allows us to sleep eight guests.

About Greg

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Tahoe in 1974 and we started renting homes in summer and winter. We soon realized it was time for us to purchase our own vacation home as our "getaway from L.A." . In 1978 we purchased an A-frame cabin and exchanged it for our condo in Bavarian Village in 1993. We have put our 'heart and soul' into making the "Ripke Retreat" just like home. You will love our extra features like our 'cool' nite lights, small hooks for hanging car keys, and a convenient dining table TV remote. We even installed an emergency 'power failure' light you will find above our hallway entrance. We love our hotel 'security safe' in our MB for securing valuables. Our valet clothing stands in each bedroom are also handy for your wardrobe. Enjoy our complimentary hot chocolate as you sit by the fire in our spacious living room. We are in our condo at least twice per year adding and upgrading amenities to assure you enjoy your stay as much as we do. Why Greg chose South Lake Tahoe

We wanted to be close to all area attractions yet we wanted to feel like we were not trapped in a casino hotel room. The Ripke Retreat in Bavarian Village is three blocks from highway 50 and Ski Run Blvd. Minutes from beaches and skiing! We are also on flat ground which makes our condo perfect for summer biking. The South Lake Tahoe bike path runs by the complex entrance. We enjoy riding our bikes to breakfast to our favorite local restaurants. We recommend Ernie's! We boast a rental agency (Pinnacle) that looks after our condo. We love our location in the middle of a grove of pine trees and the skyward view while we are at the pool or soaking in the community hot tub. We also enjoy summer dinners on our balcony so we can take in the pine-scented fresh air and listen to the call of the Blue Jays. In winter save yourself the drive and catch the Heavenly Shuttle at the Bavarian Village complex entrance.

What makes this condo unique

Our master bedroom window view of Heavenly is stunning! We are only one of only three condo buildings that have a large picture window in our MB! We also take pride in four room remodels, living room, and both baths. You will absolutely love our total kitchen remodel with granite countertops extending all the way to the dining room windows. Experience our "Tahoe ambiance" in the Ripke Retreat with pine cabinets trimmed in forest green. We placed an extra table on our balcony so you can enjoy some of your meals outside during warm summer evenings. When the weather turns cold flick the switch and turn on our gas-log fireplace and enjoy DVD movies on our living room 60" Samsung HD TV. For longer stays the on-site laundry really os perfect. Unique to Bavarian Village is luxurious, spacious heated pool (in season) and new 8-person, year round hot tub. While you are enjoying total relaxation in the hot tub look up in into the sky framed by the tall pines around you. You cannot do this at stateline when you're stuck in a stuffy hotel room. In summer enjoy barbecues right in front of our condo on our shared barbecue complete with picnic table!

FROM THE OWNERS: If you like "personal touches" and extra convenience, the Ripke Condo is for you. We just added our hand-made coat racks trimmed in hunter green. The coat rack next to the entrance door features small hooks for your car keys. And look on the kitchen table! An extra TV remote is nice to change channels while you dine. And we have framed cable channel guides in the living room and MB. You will love our indiglo nite lights and glo switches so you will never lose your way in the dark. We have them in the bathrooms too! When you get up in the middle of the night no need to blind yourself by turning on the vanity lights! During winter storms power outages are common. We even have emergency lighting for the living room and hallway for your added safety. We also may be =one of the few vacation homes with two fire extinguishers and five smoke alarms. We remind our guests that there is NO SMOKING in the Ripke Condo. If you must smoke outside please DO NOT throw your cigarette butts over our balcony railing!

Owner's Response: Hi Gina; Your comments help us plan our upgrades! Beginning with ourJune 2017 spring cleaning trip we will be replacing the master bedroom Ca. king mattress with a "Leesa" hybrid. Bedroom number 2 will get a "Leesa" queen. This should add an incredible new level of comfort for our guests. Our excellent property managers at Pinnacle supply the linens and pillows so I will notify them and we will either put in a request for them to change pillows or we will supply our own. As for the bathroom vanity light I will replace that myself on our "spring upgrade" trip in June. We do not like the halogen lights in our old vanity fixture as they burn hot and use too much energy. One month ago, before your comment on one of the vanity lights burning out, I had already purchased a new LED fixture at Home Depot. We will also review and replace pans as needed. We also will bring up a coffee grinder as a previous guest requested one. We listen to your comments and hope to have you in again to try your our new sleep systems!

Amazing Condo - Spectacular Location

The inside of this condo is perfect. The fire place, kitchen, beds, bathrooms, all perfect. There is plenty of space. There is a recliner in the living room that must be legendary. After a day of riding/skiing, take a seat in that thing and it feels like heaven. The hot tub was great also.

The location was perfect. We used uber a lot at night to go out. It was about 10$ to get to the casinos, bars, etc. The drive to heavenly(CA SIDE) was about 5 minutes. There is a grocery story 2 min away. Northstar about 45Min, Kirkwood about 45Min as well. We went to a few local waterfall hikes about 20 minutes away. So much do, definitely will be back. If this place is available it will be our go to.

A wonderful Tahoe retreat

We had a wonderful stay at Ripke Retreat. The location was excellent - close to the lake but off the main highway so it was quiet and peaceful. The views from the master bedroom were spectacular! We loved the big kitchen and all the wooden decor. Condo was clean and tidy when we arrived. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning one day.

Good but not great

Owner was great to deal with. Property management company was not responsive. Condo was cute and clean with the exception of the carpets. Feet were black within an hour which was concerning with a 3 year old. Downstairs neighbors smoke and have piles of garbage out front of their units. All in all a good stay and affordable.

Owner's Response: Dear Ashley; Allow me respond to each of your points: Our cleaning crew prides itself on how our condo looks and smells after each guest departs. Bathrooms are cleaned and restocked and the unit is thoroughly vacuumed and dusted. Same with the kitchen and living area. On your comment on the "dirty carpets": All carpeting and upholstery receives a "deep clean" in the spring and fall. I know that because we, the owners, carefully do the cleaning ourselves. Sorry you could not see our "Rug Doctor" carpet cleaner inside our locked closet. Your stay, during the first week of March, came after a heavy ski season of bookings. I might also note that have we have an 15-foot carpet runner from the front door to protect our new tile floors. The carpet runner runs between the kitchen and living area. Impossible to shampoo the carpet runner after every two or three stays. A message to all owners: This is a vacation condo. Please do not let your child to run barefoot inside the unit just as you would not do the same in a hotel room. We will look into shampooing our bedroom carpets during mid-ski season in the future. Two months ago we began planning the installation of hardwood floors in the living room and into the hallway. Our project is on schedule and will be completed shortly after Labor Day, 2017. We are also adding a 60-inch Smart Samsung living room TV along with new hybrid mattresses. We never stop upgrading! As for the "smoking and trash" coming in from of the unit below us: I have addressed that and c.c.'ed you with the email outlining the issue to our homeowner's association (HOA). Smoking is NOT allowed on the patios and balcony of any unit. I also contacted our property manager, Pinnacle Lake Tahoe GetAways regarding their "non-response" to you. We are looking into that issue as they have been fantastic property managers in dealing with me and other guests on a personal basis.

Perfect for Longer Stay

The kitchen remodel was wonderful. The mountain decor in the living room was even better. We loved the mountain green accented by the gold cabinetry. condo was spacious, warm, and comfortable. We especially loved the updated kitchen appliances, especially the Kuereg coffee maker. We will be back soon for a week's stay!

Select between a $49 damage waiver (EXTRA) OR...A REFUNDABLE $300 OR $500 security deposit. Amount of the security deposit will depend on the length of your stay and number of guests. Deposit will be returned to you by our management agency, Pinnacle Lake Tahoe GetAways (PLTGA) and returned to you 5-10 days from the last date of your stay. Guest of record must be 21 (twenty-one) years of age.

PAYMENTS: The amount on the “Reservation Details” page of your reservation noted as “Total” will be charged to your credit card immediately upon completing the reservation. 50% is due at time of booking and 50% 30 days prior to arrival--if you choose damage insurance or security deposit that is charged with the second payment. Payment due in full for an arrival less than 30 days prior to arrival.
