'We wanted to write this sooner but have been very busy back in CA. We want to thank you very much for renting your place to us for the week. We had an amazing honeymoon and definitely brought back the “Aloha Spirit” (I notice it most when I’m driving in L.A.!). The place was spotless and all the little things you guys did made us feel instantly at home. The champagne and Maui coffee were greatly appreciated and enjoyed. The snorkel gear really came in handy as well. We enjoyed the live music at Dukes and were happy to be able to walk to Whalers Village from Honua Kai. It was such a special trip for us and the condo was the icing on the cake. We see now why you guys moved to HI and we could see ourselves there one day too. We’ve already started talking about our next trip to HI! As we sort through our pictures and daily journal we get to relive all the magic that Maui had to offer.

It may be hard to understand the difference in views and service while at your computer, but you will understand those differences when you get here. My husband Joe is the former Principal Broker at Honua Kai and is the most knowledgeable person you will find in regards to what's going on at Honua Kai.

We are fortunate to 'Live Aloha' everyday here in Maui and our goal is for our guests to 'Live Aloha' while they are our guests. That's why we don't have reservation specialists, or a rental manager and we do everything. Whether it's just another trip to Maui or the only trip you'll ever take to Maui, our mission is to make it special. Here's how we do that:

1) Check-in: We greet you at your car upon your arrival at the Resort and personally check you into your suite. We show you where things are located and escort you to your room.(no matter what time you arrive). We're there to show you where to register your car/park.(We don't have you fend for yourself)

2) Service: We present each guest with a Welcome Aloha Package which includes a box of Hawaiian chocolates, a bag of 100% Maui Grown Coffee, soaps, shampoo AVEDA HAIR PRODUCTS and SOAPS and a bottle of chilled champagne. We also provide beach chairs and towels, boogie boards, iPod player, binoculars to watch the whales, free local/long distance calls to the Mainland, free wi-fi internet and condiments and the cleanest room at the Resort.

We are at the Resort all the time and live only 5 minutes up the street, so if anything should require our attention WE are quick to respond.

3) Location Please be careful here. All the rooms here are beautiful, but unfortunately for some they don't realize the importance of location until they arrive. Our unit looks over the palm trees not thru them and overlooks the koi pond, pool, and all of those tiki torches at night, very cool, very romantic. Our Studio is 595 sf and located in the inner courtyard.

4) Price: We offer the most competitive price. Some units may be a little less expensive, but you will not have the location or the view or the owner right there to handle any issues.

Other things to consider: (*Another owner/management company has chosen to copy our language here and we are not affiliated with them in any manner)

-No worrying about when the maid service is going to interupt your day.

-We personally supervise the cleaning of our unit for every check-in.

-Use of swimming pool, exercise room, concierge service, bell and valet service and

activities desk.

-Charge all resort costs on your credit card.

-We want you happy and we want you back!

No Parking Fee or Resort Fee for 2018. Subject to Change.

We will accommodate early check-in or late check out when the schedule allows. We understand that many flights arrive late morning and that many flights depart late at night. We were regulars on that red eye to San Francisco.

About Joe Devane

Joe and I originally from San Ramon, CA and we have 3 children.(Florence, Italy June 2018) Moved to Maui in 2005 because the plane ride home was too depressing. Joe came home one day and said he's tired of talking about it and we should either move to Maui or stop talking about it. I said let's do it! If half way thru your trip you start dreading going home then you know what we're talking about. We truly believe in the aloha spirit, and do try our best to 'live aloha'. -Rhonda

Why Joe Devane chose Lahaina

Brand New, Luxury Resort on Kaanapali Beach. This was the first whole ownership condominium on Kaanapali Beach in 30 years. We never planned on buying our vacation condo 4 minutes from our house, but this was too good to pass on.

What makes this studio unique

We do everything ourselves from this website to supervising the cleaning our room. Our goal is not 100% occupancy or to be the most booked studio at Honua Kai. We charge a rate that keeps our occupancy at a level that allows us to keep the suite looking great. We want Maui lovers and great guests staying with us who respect that we personally take care of things. Finally its a studio suite, so there is no low season or shoulder month since couples travel year round.

Honeymoon Stay

My wife and I stayed here for the last part of our honeymoon and it was great. Very clean, updated and has everything you need for your stay. Joe was very prompt to meet us at the property upon arrival and walked us through everything with the condo. We had a great stay and I would certainly recommend this condo!

Great location!

What a great experience! The room was exactly as advertised with a beautiful view and easy access to the pool, beach, and Duke's. The bellmen were not the friendliest, but that had nothing to do with the unit itself. The concierge was great, but the bellmen seemed to be less than excited to be there. Otherwise, a great value and place to stay! The best snorkeling was right off of the beach at the resort, and we went to several other locations. It was fun to see turtles right off of the beach without having to travel very far.

A Perfect Stay

This place was absolutely "as advertised"! This place checked all the boxes for us; very clean, a view of the ocean, and being close enough to hear the waves at night. The proximity of the resort to everything we needed was excellent, the beach was steps away, grocery stores were close, Lahaina Town was 10 minutes away (max), and was fun to visit (every day).

The owners were readily available for questions, assistance, and offered contacts for arranging activities while on the island. This was easily a very comfortable and relaxing stay. It was quiet, all of the resort personnel were attentive and courteous, from the bellmen to the concierge staff. We cannot wait for the chance of a return trip! We will definitely be contacting Joe again.

Nothing but positive things to say!

What a great experience we had at Joe's condo! He was the perfect host, greeting us and showing us all the studio had to offer.

We love the Honua Kai but have always stayed in one of the larger units. But this was perfect for a romantic getaway. We couldn't have asked for a better location or cleaner space. The condo also has all we needed to make our beach visits great - including coolers, chairs, boogie boards and the like.

Highly recommend the Honua Kai, Hokulani 719 and working with Joe!
