'The Robin's Nest' is an adorable, fully furnished vintage log cabin that has been completely renovated and is available as a rental for 30 days or longer. It is conveniently located inside Asheville, 7-10 minutes from downtown and the Biltmore Estate and 1 mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is uniquely situated in a quiet, historic neighborhood of similar cabins that was originally built during the 1920s-30s as a resort. Enjoy all of the modern amenities (yes, we have wifi) in a cozy log cabin!

This 640 square foot cabin features one bedroom with a queen-sized bed and one bathroom, as well as a small loft area with a twin-sized futon that is perfect for a child over 8 years or a small adult. Offering charm and comfort, smiles upon entering are guaranteed!

It is spotlessly clean and lovingly managed by an attentive owner who wants you to have a perfect vacation experience. Inside the cabin you will find information about local attractions, maps, restaurant suggestions, and menus to help you begin your Asheville adventure.

If your dates aren't available, please check out my other 2 properties in the same neighborhood: VRBO 285362 and 360815. Please contact me prior to requesting to book, especially if you want to bring a pet.

You are permitted to bring one mature dog under 50 pounds and he must sleep in his own bed. Your furry family member cannot be left unattended in the cabin, so bring along a kennel crate or plan on taking him with you to enjoy Asheville whenever you leave the premises.

The Robin's Nest cabin is perfect for a single person, a couple or a small family with one child old enough to sleep in the loft.

About The Owner

After moving to Asheville in 2002, I knew that these gorgeous mountains would hold me forever. I discovered an interest and talent in home renovations and after restoring several cabins, I left the profession of physical therapy and now focus full-time on managing our log cabin rental business. My other favorite pastimes are gardening, hiking and paddling my kayak on some of our beautiful lakes in the area.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2008

Why The Owner chose Smoky Mountains

While visiting a friend in Asheville, I happened upon this unique little neighborhood of vintage log cabins that was built as a resort in the 30's. I fell in love with the quaintness of the cabins and the quiet streets lined with huge, beautiful oak trees. It had a real mountain area 'feel', yet was located right in the midst of Asheville. When the Robin's Nest became available, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase and totally renovate it.

What makes this cabin unique

The Robin's Nest is an adorable vintage log cabin that has ALL of the modern amenities. It is located close to downtown, the Biltmore Estate the Blue Ridge Parkway, yet has a distinctive 'mountain home' feeling that you can escape to after a day of site-seeing. You can enjoy a glass of wine while sitting in the porch swing on the covered front porch in the midst of a historic, quiet little neighborhood. Smiles are guaranteed!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Robin's Nest was an adorable little cabin with amazing charm! It was the perfect size for two people, clean as a whistle and right in the heart of everything without all the noise! We were up for a wedding this weekend and this was such a great place to come after an amazing wedding! Mary was super nice and so helpful! I will definitely be making plans to stay here again! Thank you Mary for the wonderful accommodations and hospitality!

The Best Rental Experience Ever!

  • 5 of 5

We were guests at the Robin's Nest October 6 &7 and had probably the best rental experience of our entire lives! That's saying a lot because we've traveled all over the world and there's always something amiss, a detail forgotten. The cabin was better than described, impeccably clean, and with so much attention to detail that we never had a "I wish we had this moment" our entire visit. It's also a charming and comfortable cabin with quality appliances, furniture, and fixtures, and a quaint history. In addition, it's well-located, an easy drive to downtown Asheville and immediate surroundings. The owners are responsive and attentive. I'd give this more than five stars if I could!

Our log cabin and Mary were amazing, but...

  • 3 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our girls’ weekend at your cabin rental, and I had every intention of coming back with my husband. But while we were there, we encountered a very mean man who lives at the bottom of the hill. My daughter, who lives in Asheville, wanted to see one of his cabins that was available for rent. Because she wasn’t “actively looking” to rent at that very moment, he replied with a very ugly statement of, “Well that’s not right!!” and said we had wasted his time and the time of his rental agent. As it turned out, my daughter was indeed looking for a place to rent just ONE MONTH later. We knew this would likely be the case, but he didn’t even give us a chance to explain this. Very short sighted and presumptuous of him. But it worked out in our favor because I highly doubt this would have turned out to be a good rental situation for my daughter. The log cabins are adorable and I highly recommend. Mary was awesome. If this is what you are looking for for a weekend rental, go for it, you will not be disappointed. That aspect worked out very well for us. Just don’t walk to the bottom of the hill and try to engage with the mean man who lives in that area. Unfortunately he ruined our weekend.

Owner's Response: I am so glad that you enjoyed the Robin's Nest cabin and am surprised about your interaction with a person that you refer to as "a mean man in the neighborhood". As you can see from other reviews, people have enjoyed our friendly neighborhood and feel welcomed by the people that live there. I'm sorry that you allowed an unpleasant conversation with an unknown person "down the hill" have a negative effect on your entire weekend.

Great cabin for a couple or small family

  • 5 of 5

We love Mary's cabin. This past visit was our 3rd stay. The cabin is very clean and cozy. We really like the location: 10 minutes to downtown, mall a few miles away, grocery store around the corner and WNC Nature Center about 5 minute drive. Very friendly local people living in the "neighborhood". We will be back again soon.

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to stay in a log cabin in the mountains but with great amenities close by and we found it at Robin's Nest. Really close to the Blue Ridge Parkway - absolutely stunning; 10 minutes to downtown and the unique feel of Asheville; and grocery store and local restaurants minutes away. The cabin is beautiful and quaint, with everything that you need - it truly felt like home. The booking process was easy, and it was great to be welcomed. We now have very fond memories of a special week.

Perfect getaway for two!

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a charming and romantic little mountain cabin just minutes from both the Blue Ridge Parkway, downtown Asheville, and Biltmore, this is your place. A single child might also love climbing to the loft bedroom, and having his or her own "indoor treehouse." Although this cabin was constructed in 1930's, Mary has updated it to have everything you need, even up to coffee beans and a grinder for fresh coffee in the morning. There's a great front porch with a comfy porch swing, where if you sit outside for long, you'll be greeted by friendly neighbors, and even get to meet their pets as they are walking by. In the summer, annuals are flowering on your porch and in your seating area in the small backyard - making it feel like home away from home. I imagined others who stayed in this very cabin over the last 80 plus years when the whole neighborhood of similar cabins was a resort outside of Asheville, and it was like stepping back in time. The pictures you see of this log cabin are totally accurate. It's clean, comfortable, and Mary has literally thought of everything, including a notebook of places to visit as well as restaurant recommendations. There are even instructions on how to use the TV remote control (when does that EVER happen)!! She's also very responsive and makes the whole rental process easy! We hope to return for a stay in the future if we travel to Asheville as a couple again.
