We loved the location of this place. Pretty convenient for exploring different points on the island. The property itself is beautiful. Our host was welcoming and warm. As visitors to Kauai, we felt good about choosing a place to stay that financially benefits native Hawaiians versus staying at a resort or renting from nonnative peoples.

Joy WOW! Mahalo for this. Your heart to support the host culture. More appreciated than you know. We hope to have you back in Anahola soon. You blessed our family and this land. May you and your family blessed.
Warmest aloha, Kaala & Ohana
Kaala was a great host. Super chill and helpful. The cottage was just what we were looking for. No resorts, no tourists. Beautiful grounds. The cottage had nice touches and had everything we needed for a nice decompress after a week of doing the tourist thing. Next time we'll be staying here for our entire stay. Can't wait to come back. Aloha
We absolutely loved staying at Kaala’s place. It was a wonderful location with an amazing view. The village of Anahola is beautiful and quiet. There are wonderful beaches nearby and beautiful hikes. We were lucky to stay here because there is goat yoga on the property! I had so much fun and would definitely recommend it. It was a wonderful experience. Great stay overall.
Good location if you want to be near a beach and not at a resort.
A small but quaint cottage that offered goat yoga. Cooking was a little challenging because there was only 2 hot plates but there were enough cooking supplies. It was quiet and peaceful and the host was pleasant and accommodating. It was about a 5 minute drive from a very nice beach that had a wonderful walkway. Down side was limited storage.
Sweet Banana was wonderful! The weather on our arrival was not! Colder temperatures and a down-poor made for muddy unpacking conditions and we were surprised to discover the bedroom (of the 2-room structure) had no glass in the wall of windows. We hung extra layers over the curtain rods and made use of the extra blankets provided. This made for one of the best night sleeps ever! Bed and bedding were super comfortable. Hot water in the bathroom came quickly. The hot plate and microwave were adequate for making simple meals (pasta, seared tuna, stir fries, eggs…). Beautiful feral roosters, chickens, and chicks abound (no alarm clock needed!). Kaala lives on the property and was super responsive but never intruding. Great stay if you want to get away from it all!

About the host
Hosted by Kaala Clarke
Aloha, I’m Kaala. Raised in Anahola on this property by my single mother Manulele who’s almost pure Hawaiian and now raising my daughter who is 17 in 2025. We are deeply connected to this sacred place and happy to host visitors looking for an authentic Hawaiian stay that is more about appreciating the land and host culture than resort living. E Komo mai. We welcome you.
What makes this property unique
Anahola is the most sacred place to the feminine in all of Polynesia. It’s a sweet place to call your Kaua’i home.
