Just wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

I had stayed here five years ago and was impressed with how good the Reiters were as hosts. Nothing, fortunately, has changed. Very convenient to the beach. Includes a lot of appliances, such as microwave, coffee maker, toaster, good size refrigerator. Pleasant private outdoor space that is sheltered from the sun and rain.

Cozy Kailua Stay

  • 4 of 5

Great little space near Kailua beach and downtown with all the amenities that one could need for a stay. Comfortable bed, in room coffee/tea with microwave and large TV. Although there was no AC and just a ceiling fan, the air circulation from the fan and the evening breezes kept things very pleasant. The host, Tina, was very accommodating and friendly along with Rex, the Frisbee dog. We had great fun with him. The rental space is in the rear of Tina's main home with a small covered area just outside the entrance for outside seating. We were quite pleased with the space and the location. I guess the only downside that I could think of was that there was little or no counter space in the bath to place toilet articles on. The neighborhood is quiet with parking on the street out front of the home and beach towels umbrellas and chairs are available along with a washer/dryer. A good stop if you wish to spend time at Kailua and don't want to go overboard on a place on the beachfront. Tina was a nice resident host and was there to answer any questions or concerns.

Great, well-equipped unit, great communication with owner!

  • 4 of 5

Tina provided a lovely place for us to spend a few days while visiting Kailua for a wedding. Their home is located close to the beach (easy 5 minute walk) and restaurants. Her instructions for where to park and her overall communication was great! The unit was as described, though some of the photos are out of date as she changed the bed (for the better!) to no longer have the 4 posts. In fact, it is clear that Tina has taken feedback from people who have visited and written reviews and she has made changes accordingly, which is great to see! We loved that the entry is a code rather than a key and that the code was the last 4 digits of our phone number - that makes it so much easier to remember! Also, we didn't realize until the last day we were there, but she has some USB charging ports set up, which always come in handy. Everything was straightforward and easy to use except for the fan, but she stopped by after our arrival to make sure to answer any questions we have and show us the outdoor shower, beach gear, etc. Overall, the unit was well-equipped and we were very pleased with it.

The only negative to report (hence the 4/5 star review) was that one afternoon we returned from the beach for a nap before heading to a wedding, but we were unable to nap because there was music blasting, kids were playing loudly in the pool and a dog, Australian Shepherd, was out there barking at them. If not for that, it would have been a 5-star stay, for sure!

Owner's Response: Thank you for a great review. It was great to meet you both and glad to hear you had enjoyed your stay with us. We do apologize for our kids playing in the pool and made noise while you were resting. We wish you would had let us know or say something to the kids. The kids are busy with school and sport activities that they aren't home as much to swim and play in the pool. We had instructed the kids to not playing in the pool while the guests in the room, but they said they didn't realized you guys were in there. Our dog normally very quiet, (honestly they don't bark at strangers) unless he playing with the kids in the pool. We really appreciate the feed back so we can serve our guests better in the future. Aloha
