Rustic and needs some repairs
It was in the 16s for the week of the 4th of July. Ed is very responsive and friendly. It's a decent location and there are nice sunset views. With that being said it was described as rustic and it is rustic but there are items that were just left go and should be fixed in order to command such a price for the week (our rate was discounted from the posted 19s). The shower runs all the time and it is a known issue because there is duct tape all around the bottom and on the floor of the shower where it has leaked in the past. The shower walls do not all touch together. The outdoor furniture is extremely outdated and a quick trip to target for their $18 adirondack chairs would make a difference same situation with the TV and some of the furniture on the porch (we brought our own chairs) The screens/window conditions could be better holes in the screens and windows need to be held up by wood blocks. If the rent for the week was half of what we paid I would not even bring it up and have rated the stay higher but for this area and the other lake front options there are many more updated rentals available at a cheaper cost through VBRO as long as you book/look in advance. In our case we booked last minute. Nothing to do with price but the water is shallow around the dock and there are a lot of weeds so fishing is not good in this particular location you would need to rent a boat for summer season. If you bring a float for the lake it would be much more enjoyable than trying to swim without one due to the weeds. Due to the water depth and time of year these conditions will not change during summer season. As I mentioned above if the rate was half of what we paid as similar conditioned properties are listed on VBRO I would have rated the stay higher.
Quaint Little Lake House
This house was small but very cute. Loved sitting on the dock and watching the sun set. Enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere of the back yard.
We stayed there for 4 nights a week ago. Be aware the place is very rustic and outdated. We were quite surprised when we first arrived of the condition but managed to make the best of it. We Loved sitting out having dinner on table and watching the sunsets from the dock. I called the owner when we arrived as there were no glasses in kitchen to have a drink or wine. Ed was very kind and went to the local Walmart and was able to supply us. The cabin is clean, but could use some additional cleaning and sprucing up when tenants are checking in.
We loved the Finger Lakes region and loved hiking at Watkin Glen State park and visiting the wineries on the lakes.
Thank you for your review & useful remarks. We will make a better attempt to correct things in the future . We just had updated the cottage with $1500 of new ceiling fans installed in 4 rooms. Thanks again for staying @ our cottage. Ed
Fun Spot, Great Place
Spent the weekend with my girlfriends here, we loved it. The House was quiet and quaint, a good place for us (as college students) to stay within out budget but have a relaxing home for the weekend. Close to so many wineries and great water front property to have a small fire and swim at. Looking forward to another stay in the future.

location of house of was great everything was perfect , nice and clean overall we will be coming back again next summer and fall
Not fancy but has all you need and is in a great location right on the lake
The house is older but very clean. Ed was very responsive to any questions we had. We enjoyed a fire by the water and playing cards in the nice sized kitchen. This was one of the more budget friendly places we could find so only having one bathroom was expected but something to keep in mind if you have a large group. Overall we had a fine time and really enjoyed ourselves. If you are a "wine snob" this house may not be right for you but that's more of a reflection on you than the house.
Now for the quick stats: only one bathroom that is small and upstairs, all three bedrooms are upstairs, kitchen is nice and big with electric stove and microwave, the porch is also nice sized, there is a dock, there is NO driveway so park in the grass/stone area, there is a living room area, and the house will sleep 8 easily but good luck once everyone is up and moving around. There were 4 of us and it was a great time!
