About The Owner

Our family has visited this area for over 30 years. Now we have the opportunity to make memories with our grandchildren in our own place. We feel truly blessed to have this cabin. We're from the Florida Gulf Coast and enjoy the different climate and mountain scenery. Blairsville is a beautiful friendly place. We love it here.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We love this area and this cabin has everything we need. The leather furniture is nice and the beds are very comfortable. The creek is an added bonus. I have plans to return soon.

Sooo Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was so cozy and comfortable and very clean. The creek was the center of our daily morning and evening routine... the mornings full of deer and of course the beautiful bird songs morning and evening. Any questions, ownership responded immediately with great respect. Blairsville is conveniently located to so many site seeing options, including NC. The locals were full of southern charm and I recommend The Griddle Café and Cabin Coffee. I highly recommend this cabin for the excellent bang for your buck, with an absolute wonderful scenery!

Perfectly Fit Our Needs

  • 5 of 5

This is a great, cozy cabin. My first impression was that it's much larger than what I expected. There is plenty of living/kitchen space. The bedrooms each had a king bed, but plenty of additional space as well. It was easily accessible for my grandmother whose knees/legs often give her trouble. No stairs! Both bathrooms were beautifully upgraded. We loved the showers despite the lack of water pressure. We also enjoyed the cool temperatures provided by then dense surrounding forest. There were a few additional luxuries we appreciated: luggage racks in both rooms, night lights in every room, hand soap in the kitchen AND bathrooms, and plenty of places to hang towels. It's location is convenient to Blairsville (restaurants/art galleries/boutiques), Brasstown Bald, Blood Mt, and Vogel. I highly recommend this cabin for a family, double couple trips, or a girl/guys' weekend.

What a wonderful cabin, owner, and setting.

  • 5 of 5

It was a great blessing to have such a beautiful place to stay while my brother and sister-in-law visited my father, in his last days of life at the nursing home in Blairsville. The ability to relax in comfortable beds, with spacious showers and beautiful back deck, over looking the creek... Wow!! Even though it rained some days, the birds were chirping loud and it was simply a special place!! The sign on the wall said it all... "Be still and know that I am God." Thank you Woody for your care, concern and availability when we had a question! We will plan on renting your beautiful cabin again!

Disappointed

  • 3 of 5

On the positive side the owner was very friendly and responsive. The general area and river was really nice. Peaceful setting and a lot to do in the area. We had visitors from abroad and reserved the cabin because most of the reviews said that it was clean, it was average at best. There was a mouse in the unit and it ate through some of the bags of nuts on the counter and the blankets had holes in it. The owner did ask me to trash it and offered to have the manager bring a new blanket, we declined the offer. The water had a strong sulphur odor and a yellow color. Be sure to take bottled water should you decide to stay. No dishwasher and you have to wash dishes before you leave. I did not appreciate the fact that we had to pay a hefty cleaning fee and the unit was not clean. I shared all of this with the owner and he is aware of the issues and is considering a water filter and softener.

Owner's Response: Sorry you were disappointed. We would have honored our cancellation agreement when you arrived had you expressed disappointment. You did call about the water but at the time said everything else was nice. The cabin is in a wooded area and has well water. The water is filtered but does not have a water softener. You mentioned having a water softener, as I do at my home. There is a big difference if you are accustomed to a water softener. Also, if you had contacted me about suspecting a mouse I would have called the exterminators I have under contract. The price for cleaning is the going rate in that area. All monies go to the cleaning company . The floors are rustic pine and they are mopped after every renter. ALL bed coverings are changed after every renter. The porches are cleaned and dusted but pollen and dust may accumulate between renters because the cabin is cleaned after each guest. When speaking to the cleaners they said the blanket had been washed and come apart so they put it away in the top of the closet. Thank you for bringing it to our attention it was not intended to be used. The cabin is not advertised to have a dishwasher, wifi, or washer and dryer. The cabin is advertised as cozy. It is not a luxury cabin. Our reviewers in the past have been pleased with the cleanliness of the cabin. Our cleaning company does work hard and inspects the cabin after each cleaning. Again I'm sorry you were disappointed with the cabin and stayed three days and left before letting us know. We always try to be accommodating.
