Lovely Retreat

Great stay in Ellijay

Our stay at Drake Cottage was lovely and just what we were looking for. The cottage and grounds are tasteful and well-maintained just as you see in the pics and had everything needed to be comfortable. It felt remote but was only 10 min from town - best of both. We enjoyed the area and our stay very much.

First Blue Ridge Mountain Stay

Property was exactly as advertised. Rich was quick to respond and we even extended our stay. We plan on returning on a future trip. Location was convenient to get to Blue Ridge and Ellijay, allowing you to get a real overall feel for the area.

Creek Side Cottage

Beautiful cottage, very clean and nicely update. So relaxing with the creek, & fire pit. Love how quiet it was. Very convenient to Ellijay / Blue Ridge. We enjoyed having Leroy (dog) visit us daily.

Nice getaway for a couple of days

Very quiet and nice cottage, no issues at all. The enclosed sunroom was a nice touch, everything is new and well taken care of in the property. Will stay again in the future. Communication with owners was effortless and superb. Nice people!

Fall getaway

The property was just as advertised and pictured. My husband and I were looking for a getaway for fall break and this was perfect. We enjoyed the home and property. The glass porch was my favorite. We opened a window in order to hear the creek. It was a great place for R & R. We picked apples , shopped and visited a vineyard.

Apple Festival Get away

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Elijay Ga. The location of the cabin was perfect. It felt like being nestled in the woods far away from the hustle and bustle, but still close enough to town for convenience. The owners of the Cabin took a lot of care and time in making the stay enjoyable by providing sound machines in the bedrooms, The cabin decor was perfect and the Kitchen was well stocked. Would give it 5 out of 5 stars.

We have had a great time in this beautiful, creek side cottage. If you seek a peaceful, relaxing getaway, this is the place to go. The property is beautiful, surrounded by large trees with beautifully maintained landscaping and the creek running on the side of the cottage is simply amazing. Enjoy the sound of the water either outside by the bench, from inside the glass patio or take a walk in the creek. The cottage is located some 10-15 minutes from town where you will find all the big stores to purchase what you need. It is the perfect balance of being close to town, yet located in a private setting.The host is also amazing, very responsive and helpful. We’d love to come back some day.

We are from Chattanooga and have visited the Ellijay area many times, and enjoyed hiking, fishing, and relaxing wine tastings at many wineries across North Georgia. We wanted to have a home base for exploration in the area, and this cottage ticked all our boxes.

We enjoy entertaining and ensuring that our guests can focus on themselves during their time away. We want you to fall in love with this home just like we have over the past years.

Why they chose this property

We enjoy the quaintness of the area and flatter geography of this particular corner of Ellijay. Many times, for better or worse, a home in this part of Georgia is built on the side of the mountain, with very little usable outdoor space. We love that it's easy to get around on this property, and that the creek is so close to the back porch. The rushing, burbling sounds of the creek fill the porch and living room of the home, and provide such a relaxing setting for our guests.

What makes this property unique

Our goal was to provide a space that was unique for this area. If you are looking for a standard cabin with a yellow pine interior and an abundance of rustic log based furniture, you have got lots of options in Ellijay! If you are looking for a quaint, tastefully decorated cottage on the banks of a mountain creek, this is your spot. Enjoy.
